Southern Mexico, a clearing near an unnamed beach
The man tiredly watched her get away, her dark hair slowly blending with the night as she went.
“How many times does that make? I wonder…damn too many anyway!”
With that last tie severed, and all his assets turned over to his former servants he had no further connection to the human world.
A self-deprecating smile appeared on his face, and he smothered once again the overwhelming urge to run after her.
“Time to end this once and for all”
Around him only the faint sounds of the waves nearby could be heard, not even the insects daring make themselves known to this existence.
He raised his head to the sky, mouth opened to utter a single pure, sweet note that eerily resounded in the silence of the clearing, softly spreading around him..
Down, down the man went, through the ground like a ghost, leaving the clearing as unperturbed as if he never even set foot there.
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
Past soil and rocks he went, the musical note still flowing from his lips, until he reached a bubble shaped cave lined with purple amethyst crystals formation reflecting the slight light that seemed to emanate from his white skin.
“Yes, this seems like a good enough place.”
Seemingly unperturbed by the high temperature or stifling atmosphere, the man laid down on the ground, his long golden hair fanning around his fair face.
A last thought crossed his mind as eyes as gold eyes closed and his face relaxed in sleep:
“Hopefully nothing will wake me up this time.”
After all, what good would it be for anyone if he went insane?
The last remnant of sound slowly disappeared, leaving the cave as still as a tomb.
Outside, time continued its stately march, oblivious of the golden man sleeping in his self-made crypt.
