PRODIGIUM

PRODIGIUM

[[Unlike the other kids who were taught in large groups, Taceo and Chloe were given a private lesson for the past seven years by Joan herself. Despite Joan's childish mannerisms, she was a great teacher and she found herself having just as much fun as she would on her adventures.]]

Taceo had become quite an innovative thinker, quick-witted but cautious at times which made up for his lack of magical talents. Taceo did not show any signs of having an affinity for any magic but he seemed to be welcomed by the energy around him nonetheless. He would constantly practice harnessing his magic and focusing it.

Chloe was gentle and cautious about everything. She had an affinity for light magic she would definitely have a promising future but excessive use of her abilities seems to have destructive drawbacks.

"They balanced each other out perfectly." Joan thought to herself as she was teaching them. She concluded her lesson and dismissed them

"ill figure it out one day! You'll see!" Taceo wanted to catch up to chole as soon as possible. "

There is no hurry" Chloe replied with a smile

"what do you think of when you do that stuff?" asked Taceo.

"I don't know….. it's as easy as breathing," said Chloe. the other kids welcomed them and Chloe ran off to catch up to them Taceo ignored them

And headed to the forest if all of the older kids can use magic then he wanted to do it too. He thought about what Chloe had said "like breathing? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard!"

he took in a deep breath and began to empty his mind he closed his eyes and sat till he could hear his own heart beating and the wind blowing through the trees around this time he would usually be playing with the other kids but right now his mind was empty he began to feel something, he could see an endless space it was captivating. He stared into the endlessness and reached out into it

"Taceo!!!" Joan yelled out to him the other kids stood behind her in awe. Taceo opened his eyes and looked out in front of him his hand was fully extended and in front of it was a stone, an ordinary rock he was confused at why everyone was so shocked. It didn't even cross his mind to wonder where the stone came from. But Joan and the kids had seen that a rock had vanished from the ground and appeared in his hand.

"Spacial magic? What is that?" Taceo was still unsure of what was going on. Joan spoke to them as they headed back to the church.

"It's rare magic that can be used for transporting people or items over certain distances". Joan was elated that Taceo already had a bright future ahead of him but after this discovery, it was guaranteed that he would live a worry-free life. Nobles usually hire spatial mages for transportation or moving objects.

Word of Taceo's abilities has spread to the nearest town and from there to the kingdom Zion and eventually, the Castle City when word got to the king he almost immediately dismissed it there was nothing special about a spacial mage, especially in the Castle City but when he had heard that The prodigy was a student of His old friend who was also teaching a light mage, he declared it necessary that he go and meet them himself.

A week after Taceo's, awakening, a man in armor from head to toe with an enormous sword on his back approached the church behind him was another man in a white cloak they knocked on the door and Joan came out to greet them. They were so tall that Joan looked like a child standing next to them.

Joan looked at them with disgust "what is your business here."

the armored man bent down a bit to be on the same level as Joan "Show some hospitality You know why we are here" Joan let them both inside and had one of the church hands bring them something to eat.

"Where are your students," asked the cloaked man. His eyes glowed golden like the sun

"That's not your business" the church hands returned with food and drinks for the guests and quickly left. They could feel the tension between Joan and the visitors. The armored man immediately raised his visor and began to eat and drink but the man in the cloak pretended not to notice his food and continued to speak with Joan "why must you be so difficult?" Joan completely ignored his question

"you should have something to eat you must have traveled a long way from the Castle City, King of Zion".She scoffed sarcastically. The King took off his Hood and laughed "I was starting to think you had forgotten me" he joked. Joan was still irritated she was never close to The king, They had only been allies for the sake of war, a war that she spent years trying to forget.

"You've changed," said the man in armor, you were one of the strongest knights in the kingdom and now you take care of children? What a bore" Joan quickly rebutted

"seeing that you still wear the same smelly armor that you did years ago, i'll assume that you haven't changed at all Maximus" Maximus quietly checked his underarms for odor. "Are you only here to see my students?" Joan wanted to end this gathering quickly so that she could go back to living her quiet life.

"No", said the King "I intend to take them back to the kingdom with me"
