I had little time for rest. Daeva has no idea what happened and is probably trying his best to get inside the cave. After a few minutes of sitting i stand up and try to prepare myself for whats to come.
I stepped to the door and took a deep breath as i opened it.
Just another relatively empty hallway with 2 other doors. But then there was Daeva standing in the doorway of one of them with a bloodied axe. When he turned around and noticed me he started running at me tearing up saying how worried he was, thats to be expected when you have an 11 year old in the body of a demon with the build of a bear.
Before Daeva could get to me the cerebus behind me had leaped forward into Daeva. Not to attack. No it was clearly out of excitement. It had to of been a long time since the cerebus had seen someone from its home realm. With cerebus being a rare import, only the rich could afford to even see one. Being that most demons who travel to other realms end up poor, its a very odd chance they meet.
Daeva tried to dodge it but had just dodged into the wall, leaving him on the ground with a welt on his head and me laughing. "Daeva this is why your not light footed" i tried to tell him still getting rid of my laughter
After i remembered what we were supposed to be doing my laughs dropped to the floor.
When Daeva somewhat recovered we had to go door to door finding Tulka. Along the way there were only a few more foes to fight which didnt end in very much of a problem. We had cleared all the doors we could see but there was no one left and we hadnt found Tulka. That is until we heard a loud sigh coming in from outside.

"yeah yeah i get it, you guys got some kind of hand cuffs?" He leaned against a wall near the entrance. He had no real distinguishing features besides some scars or marks on his arms, and his height. He was small. Very small.
"haha your so-" Daeva started at him
"if you finish that sentence i will not hesitate to kill myself so you dont get a reward." He threatened himself. Daeva stayed silent after that.
I let Daeva cuff him and sat down to tend to my leg. when i rolled up my pant leg the area of the bite was purple and green. Luckily Daeva is always over prepared and had the supplies to dress the wound until we got back to town.
The pain subsided as we got closer to town, but im not sure if that was a good sign or a bad sign.
By the time we were back in town it was already 5pm, and the guild was the only place to go, with no trustworthy doctor in the small town and tulka to hand in.
Walking in it felt little more confined then normal, it had the same tinge of alcohol in the air and damp surroundings to weigh you down.
I let Daeva tie Tulka to a pole anchored to the floor while i went to collect from the front desk and have Iris tend to the wound.
Iris scolded me for being clumsy and unsafe on top of asking her at the busiest time of day. Half way through her rant i toned out and gazed at the monthly ranking wondering how big of a mistake I actually made. A brash decision i made with a stranger late at night could cost me a months rent.
Me and Daeva were at the top for now but who knows how long that will last, its only been a day. But with this thought i stood up and looked at the message board for what i could do tomorrow, assuming my leg is healed enough by then. There was nothing that caught my eye right away tonight so i sighed and went to the counter to order something strong to stop me from brooding on the bet. I just took it to the roof to smoke and be away from the noise while looking at the stars patterns. I dont want to keep going anymore.
