Opening Scene – School Rooftop (Afternoon)

(The sun casts a golden glow over the city. The wind rustles softly as a boy sits alone, sketching in his notebook. This is* Ryo Kisaragi**—quiet, distant, and always lost in his drawings.*)

Ryo (monologue):

"People say art speaks louder than words. Maybe that's why I prefer drawing over talking."

(*He flips his sketchbook to a fresh page. His pencil moves effortlessly—lines forming the view before him. But then, without thinking, he starts sketching something else—a girl smiling brightly.)

(He pauses, staring at what he just drew.)

Ryo: (whispering) “…Why her?”

(Before he can react, the door to the rooftop swings open—BAM! A cheerful voice rings out.)

Yume Asakura: “Ah-ha! I knew you’d be up here!”

(Ryo quickly closes his sketchbook as Yume Asakura strides toward him, her brown hair bouncing with every step. Her golden eyes shine with mischief.)

Cut to – Classroom 2-B (Morning, earlier that day)

(The classroom is buzzing with chatter. Students laugh, gossip, and scroll through their phones. Near the window, Ryo sits alone, quietly sketching in his book.)

(A loud THUD shakes his desk. Yume leans over, peering at his sketchbook with a grin.)

Yume: “Still hiding in your drawings, huh?”

If you come across this story on Amazon, it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.

(Ryo sighs and flips the page before she can see.)

Ryo: “What do you want, Asakura?”

(Yume dramatically gasps.)

Yume: “So cold! And here I was thinking we could be friends.”

(Ryo doesn’t respond. Yume doesn’t back down. Instead, she hums a tune, casually swaying to the rhythm.)

Yume: “Guess I’ll just sing instead~”

(Her voice is light and melodic, effortlessly carrying through the room. Some students turn to listen, smiling at her energy. But Ryo... he pauses, his pencil hovering over the paper.)

(He listens silently, as if caught in a spell.)

---

Cut to – Hallway (Lunch Break)

(Ryo walks toward the rooftop, enjoying the silence. But before he can reach the stairs—BAM! A shoulder slams into him.)

(Enter Renji Takahashi—the school’s most popular (and arrogant) guy, smirking with his gang.)

Renji: “Oops. Didn’t see you there, ‘Mister Silent.’”

(Ryo ignores him and tries to walk past, but Renji steps in front of him.)

Renji: “You know, it’s kinda annoying how you just sit there all cool and quiet. No wonder all the girls keep looking at you.”

(His friends laugh. Ryo doesn’t react, but inside, he grips his sketchbook tightly. Before things can escalate—)

Yume (off-screen): “Wow, Renji. Picking fights with a guy who doesn’t even care? That’s embarrassing.”

(Yume appears, arms crossed, eyes gleaming with amusement. Renji clicks his tongue in irritation.)

Renji: “Tch. Whatever. Let’s go.”

(He walks away, and Yume turns to Ryo with a grin.)

Yume: “You really need to learn how to talk back, Kisaragi.”

(Ryo exhales and walks past her, heading toward the stairs.)

Yume: (calling after him) “Oh! And don’t think you’re eating lunch alone again—I’m joining you!”

(Ryo stops but doesn’t turn around. He sighs, muttering to himself as he continues walking.)

Ryo: “…Persistent.”

(Yume just laughs.)

Final Scene – Rooftop (Afternoon, Present Time)

(Back to the present. Ryo sits on the rooftop, flipping through his sketchbook. He stops at the latest drawing—Yume’s smiling face.)

(He stares at it, conflicted.)

Ryo (monologue):

"Why do I keep drawing her…?"

(Before he can overthink, the rooftop door bursts open—again.)

Yume: “Told you—no eating alone!”

(She plops down beside him, pulling out a bento box. Ryo sighs but smirks—just a little.)

(As the sun sets behind them, Yume hums softly while eating, and Ryo sketches in silence. Unknowingly, their worlds begin to intertwine.)
