Alphonse woke up. He wasn’t able to sleep all throughout the night. Gluttony’s words sent a tumbling feeling throughout his stomach. He wanted to ask what he meant by it, but he vanished, only appearing when he had something to say.
Being unable to sleep, he spent the entire night thinking. The fact that gluttony's finger was here, on this planet. Meant that he probably had something to do with the gateways, like a mastermind behind the scenes. Then it left the question: was Gluttony the one to grant him his powers, or was he born with them? Alphonse shook his head as anger welled up inside of him. If he gave me the powers, the question is why?”
“It’s time.” Dior said.
Alphonse nodded. They walked into a wide open space. Dior placed the cylindrical device on the ground and stepped away. He looked at his watch and unsheathed his weapon. Alphonse and Julian copied him. They were ready for an intense battle.
I wonder what will greet us on the other side. How many officers want my head? Well, guess we’ll find out.
A deep blackness gushed out from the device and started sucking everything in. It was time. Alphonse could feel his body being pulled up in the air. His body became transparent then, his vision blurred as an intense nausea hit him.
An intense boom assaulted his eardrums as he felt his feet touch on land. His eyes snapped open, Dior locked his curved blade against an officer. He snapped his leg forward, hitting the officer on the chest as he created some space to move.
Alphonse looked around. Red lights flashed in a rotating light. The sounds of fighting were chaotic. It was all around him, on the coliseum stands and down below at the entrance.
“Down the stairs. Follow the man with the axe.” Alphonse and Julian nodded at Dior’s words. Alphonse bolted down the stairs. A flash of light aimed right at his forehead. He was about to dodge when someone stood in front, blocking the attack. Alphonse nodded at the man and continued. They entered the hallways, dark puddles saturated the floor, bringing with it a coppery-smell that wafted into his nose. A smell that rumbled his stomach, causing pain to course through his body.
“Stay close to me.” The man with the axe said. He bulldozed through the officers like a raging bull. His axe swinging around like a storm. Sending splatters of red liquid onto the walls.
The resistance is this strong? Alphonse watched in bafflement. When he thought of the resistance, he imagined it to be a suppressed organisation, but the surrounding scenes told otherwise. They are undoubtedly in a war. How long can they keep it going for? It looks like they are equals. How is that possible?

Then, a black hole opened up as a man's face appeared. His eyebrows drooped and his hair was messy, not having been brushed for an eternity. Thick stubble grew, and his uniform was unkempt and wrinkled.
The axe man they were with turned serious. He let out a scream as red vapour emitted from his pores, with bloodshot eyes he raged forward. His axe split the air. At his back, it was as if a crazy bear guided his weapon. It attacked alongside the man and crashed toward the black-hole of the lazy officer.
The lazy man languidly moved his eyes toward the raging-berserker. His hand raised, with a snap of his fingers, they vanished.
Alphonse’s eyes widened in shock. What the fuck… how is that fair? He shook his head at the thoughts as he continued running. It would be the end of him if he was caught.
Alphonse stopped. Not because he wanted to, but because a man stood in the way. The aura that was being emitted from his very being sucked the air out of his lungs. He felt like an insect standing in front of an insurmountable mountain. A golden chain lay at his chest, interconnecting a long navy cape. Golden pauldrons covered his wide shoulders. His eyes were like shiny golden-coins.
“All this mess for an apostle.” He took a step forward as the hallway distorted and fragment. It was as if everything was glass and he was shattering the world into small pieces. The space behind it was nothing but sparkling stars, circling the man as if he was the centre of the universe. The fragments floated around him and shot forward.
Alphonse couldn’t react. The razor sharp fragments tore into his body. One by one. The hot trickling of liquid cascaded down his body. He couldn't move.
“Bullying the children again? Wish I could say I was surprised. Admiral Kaiser.” Miss Hainz walked forward, her long heels tapping on the floor. Her eyes rolled back into her head, revealing nothing but a mass of white. A pair of white wings blasted out from her back, the whites of her eyes glowed. A spear flashed into existence, a white crown emerged from her head. It was as if she had become an entirely different person, like someone… or something, took over her body.
“It’s surprising to see the aspect of a heavenly angel.” Kaiser spat. The fragments continued to urge forward.
“You are overstepping your boundaries. To interfere with the apostle war, that is a grave crime. The gods will not stand for it. Stand down, or suffer divine punishment.” Miss Hainz's voice changed completely. It was monotonous and airy.
Admiral Kaiser stood for a minute, as if contemplating something. Then, the fragmented world around him returned to normal. As did Miss Hainz.
“It doesn’t mean I can’t kill you.” Admiral Kaiser's words finished and made his move. The world around them exploded forth. Alphonse could not keep his footing as the floor disappeared.
“What the fuck is going on?” Alphonse screamed.

That’s right, you fucking system. Gluttony, get me out of here!
Nausea hit him. His eyes peered around. It looked like the entire ship was being dismantled and broken apart. Miss Hainz stood there as a violent white light surrounded her body and exploded forward like a star.
Alphonse’s eyes were forced shut. His body floated through space.
