"Your dance was so amazing!"
"Yeah, it was... cool... if spinel didn't run over my feet every time but we succeeded.."
Scarlet was talking on the phone with Connie, putting her phone in microphone mode. She puts it on the table while she's on her makeup, she's on a date... with her 'boyfriend' Mike.
He told her the next morning from the masquerade party that they could finally go to a restaurant outside the beach after two days and Scarlett was very excited tonight, Mike was always busy and that such moments were a bit rare, though they were. They keep in touch...a bit.
"Really? It didn't look like that, you were a cool couple!" Scarlett sighed, "where you want to pray with all this? I didn't know Spinel well, all I know about her is her name and she's your friend and Steven.. Besides that one night is not enough to judge two people they are good for each other."
“ You really want me to remind you of your past when - " "Okay okay, stop that... I'm so sorry dear, but what you say is like nonsense when I put my makeup on and out on a date with someone else!"
Connie sighed on the line, "I'm saying this... just for you, Scarlet..." Scarlet lowered her head a little and put the eyeliner away. "He's doing his best, Connie, you don't need to worry about all this." She smiled as if she could see it.
"Well then...bye Scarlet, I hope you have a good time.”
“Thank you Connie, I appreciate you always being there for me,”
Scarlet said as she was now getting ready to go to the restaurant they agreed on, as she was leaving she was thinking about Spinel, she would be lying if this gem didn’t catch her attention, she was so beautiful and kind, she wondered if she would ever see her again or if she was just passing by, she sighed and rubbed her forehead she wasn’t used to thinking about all this especially for someone she barely knew.
“Probably because of Mike” she sighed and continued on her way.

“Why is he always late!” Scarlet complained as she sat at one of the restaurant tables, “He’ll come…” she muttered to herself, she felt so lonely, “I swear if he doesn’t come I’ll-”
“Sorry I’m late!” She looked up to find him, in formal clothes, his eyes as dark as his hair, and his tall stature. She sighed, “It’s okay, I thought you wouldn’t come, why are you late?”

He laughed and sat on the chair opposite her. “Just traffic.”
Scarlet sighed. “So… how was your work?” “Oh, it was good and tiring as always, as you know my place at work is very important and all.” He smiled at her.
Although he was a rich person, but as rich as he was, he was narcissistic. He always told her that one has the right to be arrogant about something he owns or is good at, and his work was important because he was a CEO as he always said. He was rich and only worked to please his angry father, as he claimed.
After a short while, the hot tea they had ordered came. “Now it’s your turn. Tell me, Scarlet, how are you? Is high school still annoying?” he said in a sarcastic tone.
"Actually yes, all the homework and studying is definitely exhausting, although free time becomes more valuable and enjoyable during a period when you should be studying.” she laughed.
“Really, free time? What do you do in your free time instead of studying?” He looked curious and laughed lightly.
“Like the graduation party I told you about.” He raised an eyebrow in confusion. “A party?”
“Yeah, the one I told you about last Thursday remember? I called you but you didn’t answer…” His face quickly changed from confusion to understanding “Oh yeah yeah I remembered, sorry I didn’t answer I was very busy you know heh” He scratched his head, and Scarlet looked at him “It’s okay and I also made a new friend”
Well if Mike wasn't interested in talking before, he certainly wasn't now.
"Oh? And who is this friend?"
The reason he cares so much about this now is because he's so jealous and that's what makes him annoying and here Scarlet realized she opened a door that wouldn't be easy to close "Um yeah... that was Spinel and she's Connie's friend" He was frowning at her and she didn't want to talk about dancing with her there, she silently wished he wouldn't talk and dig into it further but..
“Hey, that reminds me… did you dance with anyone?”
Scarlet sighed angrily. “No, it would have been great if you were there instead of doing your job that you claim to hate, and taking a day off. The company wouldn’t have been ruined, Mike! I was alone there and all you could do was ignore my call with the same excuse every time!”
“Don’t yell at me like that everyone is looking at us!” Mike whispered angrily. “Listen Scarlet, I hate my job but I refuse to leave the company for a party for a few hours.”
“I’m sick of this Mike! You say this like I don’t care! You know what? GO TO HELL!” She grabbed her bag and started walking while crying, everyone was looking at her while Mike groaned “complicated.”

Scarlet was sitting on a beach chair, she was back in Beach City, where her house was and she was looking out at the sea, she didn't tell Connie that she had invited Mike over and that he had ignored her or so she thought, in fact she was starting to doubt what he was saying, she hated to say it but she was used to their fights every time..
She sighed and put her head on her knees, hugging her legs tightly to her chest. She heard the sound of rubber boots and stopped when her owner sat next to her. At first, she thought he was just a kid but
“Are...you...okay?”
She heard Spinel's voice, the last person she expected, she raised her head with tears on her cheeks
“S-Spinel?”
