Sorceress

The Hegemony employs many psychically gifted individuals as sorcerers, with necromancers being the most ubiquitous. Sadea is a sorceress, but more specifically, she is a Slayer-Class Living Weapon, having undergone a series of complex nano-lobotomies and cerebral circuitry implantations by her mentor and foster father, Doctor Cyrus Horatius. As a result, she has a Class One psychic capacity.

Psychic Capacity

For the sake of comparison, a baseline human being like Raksha would have a Class Ten psychic capacity, and a necromancer like Viktoria Stefka would have a Class Seven or Eight psychic capacity.

Class One individuals bend the rules of reality simply by existing, and their souls shine so brightly in the Ethereal Tides that they are prime candidates for demonic possession. As a result, they are usually insane, driven mad by their power, and walking catastrophes. The Slayer Class augmentation, however, has focused and limited her psychic capacity to the generation of metaphysical electricity.

Most sorcerers have some level of basic telepathy, telekinesis, and meta-vision (more commonly called Mage Sight). Sadea still has these capabilities, but only to a very muted degree, much like a stunted child would be in comparison to a healthy adult.

Slayer-Class Living Weapon

As a Slayer-Class living Weapon, she can produce and manipulate vast amounts of psychic lightning. An experienced master sorcerer could hurl perhaps one or two bolts of lightning before falling into a catatonic state of exhaustion. Sadea can bathe entire city blocks in electricity for hours before she begins to feel tired.

Sadea’s lightning is more than mere electricity. Over the course of her childhood and early adolescence, Horatius subjected her to intense psychic and hypnotic indoctrination, instilling within her very soul an intense, unrelenting hatred for the unnatural and heretical.

As a result, Sadea can infuse her lightning with this hatred, rendering it especially devastating to mutants, unsanctioned undead, and demons.

Doctor Horatius has also augmented Sadea’s body in other ways. She ages at a vastly decelerated rate, is immune to most diseases, and sports a high resistance against toxins and poisons. She also enjoys moderate regenerative capabilities and an enhanced metabolism that can just about keep up with her penchant for binge-eating and abusive drinking.

I. Bolts

This novel is published on a different platform. Support the original author by finding the official source.

Sadea can generate and manipulate metaphysical lightning in a variety of ways. Her go-to move is to simply hurl it in bolts of varying magnitudes and intensity. Sadea can create and project a bolt of lightning powerful enough to atomize anything it touches. She can also conjure weaker beams or tendrils of electricity to shock, injure, or annoy (Raksha, especially, since he can’t keep his aegis up forever. Or can he?).

II. Lightning Aspect

Sadea can also discorporate her flesh and assume her lightning aspect. In this form, she is completely incorporeal, which means that she’s also weightless and cannot create or halt any momentum. By concentrating and expending huge amounts of her psychic strength, she can move her lightning aspect at a speed slightly slower than she can walk. In this form, Sadea can pass through solid barriers, and any foes that come into contact with her suffer the same consequences they would have from being hit with her lightning bolts.

III. Electrical Webs

Often having to fight mutants or demons much stronger and faster than her, Sadea resorts to shaping her lightning into nets or webs of electricity to corral her enemies and restrict their movements.

IV. Heaven-wrought Annihilation

When her own lightning isn’t powerful enough to do the job, Sadea borrows her strength from nature itself. Reaching out into the sky, Sadea can conjure heaven-wrought spikes of lightning many times stronger than what she can generate herself and use them to slaughter her enemies. However, she needs to be outdoors or have access to the open sky to do so. Calling lightning down from the heavens also expends a lot of her psychic energy.

Equipment

Utility kilt: This stylish leather kilt bears a powerful spatial enchantment. Its pockets can hold up to 500 cubic square feet of items and render everything weightless. All Sadea has to do to retrieve a specific item is to call it to mind when she reaches into her pockets. Most of the time, she keeps the kilt well stocked with candy bars. She would keep alcohol there, too, but she drinks that faster than she can stockpile it. Sadea can also manipulate the kilt’s size at will, shrinking it as small as a leather strap no thicker than her thumb or enlarging it into a full-sized leather tent.

Focusing gauntlets: Inlaid with copper circuitry and crushed psi-active crystal, these thick leather gauntlets improve Sadea’s aim with her lightning bolts. They come in a variety of colors, but bright auburn suits her sense of style best, and she will brook no contrary opinions.

Discorporeal scarf: Sadea remembers that her mother gave her this green silk scarf, but not much more than that. Phrases from a pre-Hegemonic language run down its yellow trimming, but they do not translate well modern vernacular. As far as Sadea can discern, the words play out a verse about how she is beloved and cherished, but their exact meaning and pronunciation defy her. She has woven copper circuitry through its length, turning it into a focal aid that she uses to assume her lightning aspect.

War staff: A copper-plated carbon rod tipped with a half-moon head of psi-active quartz, this staff amplifies Sadea’s lightning bolts. She can also imbue its tip with lightning and turn it so hot it can cut like a plasma torch. As a last resort, she can use it as a bludgeoning weapon, and she has done so on more than one occasion with great success, or so she says.

Pistol: Sadea carries a fairly unremarkable pistol in one of her kilt pockets because sometimes, it’s just easier to shoot someone in the face or the groin. She also stocks a few spare magazines whenever she remembers to do so.

Body glove and leather boots: Sadea beats up those who don’t agree that they’re stylish and look good on her.
