“When the clock strikes midnight something drastic will happen” Mia told me this morning. I didn’t believe her like a sane person would. She's always talking about how she's all knowing and that the stars tell her everything. My entire family thinks something’s wrong with her but we don't know how to fix it. She's only 6 for god's sake, her imagination might just be too big for her own mind. “I’m going to the fare mom” I yell slamming the back door behind me. My best friend Max is standing outside waiting for me.

“What took you so long? I’ve been here forever” he asks.

“I had to clean my room, sorry”

“Well clean faster next time Rose is already waiting for us”

“Well then what are we doing just standing here?” I say running off to the fair. I beat Max to the fair and look at my watch in bright Green Numbers, It says 4:37. “Hey Emmy, How are you doing?” I hear from behind me. That could only be one person “Rose” i say turning around and giving her a hug. Max finally shows up and says “let's go ride some rides before the firework show”

“Deal” Rose and I say in the sink. “The time went by so fast I didn't even realize that it was dark” I say after we get off the last ride. In the distance I hear my mom calling “well bye guys, my mom's calling” I run to my house and hear the 10 second countdown. “10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!” Suddenly I trip and fall. I hit my head really hard on the road. “I think I'm fine” i tell myself i sit up, but then my vision goes black and I fall back down to the road.
