“Uh, hey.” I looked up from my book comparing Old Speak and Ancient Armelian runes and saw a girl standing there. “Uhm. Hi. Can I.. help you?” She looked my age, which was kinda weird. She had a round face and large glasses, thinner than Vesper’s. She looked like a chipmunk had been turned into an elf, in that she was slightly short and round and looked 100% non threatening. “You look like you know a fair bit about runes. Would you be willing to help me with the homework I have on them?” Hmm. She looked like she was being honest. Her eyes didn’t seem to be focused on ME so much as my BOOK. “Sure. Pull up a seat.”

“So, what do you think? Not so hard to understand, huh?” She shook her head. “No, not at all. I feel kinda stupid for how hard a time I was having with them.” I couldn’t help but chuckle and say in a mock holier then thou voice, “Well, I do have that effect on people.” She chortled. “Clearly. Anything you need help with?” “..I mean, yeah. Why do you ask?” “I took up your time with my stupid antics and you helped me. I’d like to help you back.” Huh. Well, since she offered.. “I’m not sure if you’d be able to help much, but I’m struggling with botany a fair bit.” She GRINNED. “I can ABSOLUTELY help you there.” O-okay, I guess this girl was a plant lover. “Is it the latest assignment from Professor Annoris?” Wow. “Yeah.” “Okay, too the greenhouse! C’mon lets go.” She grabbed my arm and started all but dragging me there. “H-Hey, I can walk you know. And it’s not like I don’t already know where the greenhouse is.” I stuttered out. It’s not like getting dragged is fun or makes balance easy. “I’ve left people in the dust accidentally before, I ain’t doin that again.” GAH this girl was stubborn. “By the way,” she continued “I’m Erica, by the way. I don’t think I caught your name, though.” Hadn’t we.. huh. A whole three hours studying together and we had no idea who we were studying with. “Jayson. But most people call me Jay.”
