One night, I was attending the Fort Myers Art Walk. I was hungry, and I saw a food truck with the words , “Cloud 9 Sweets” written on the side of it. Curious, I walked up to the window, and looked at the menu which was written on a chalkboard on the side of it. The server, who had cotton candy pink hair that was pinned up and barrel rolls and looked like a 1950’s pastel goth walked up to the window and asked, “Hello! What can I get for you?”
I eyed the menu and saw the words, “Face your fears, try our Floof!” written in pink chalk. “What is Floof?” I asked. The server smiled and said, “Well, that is our strawberry blueberry flavored frappe with tapioca balls.” I replied, “I would like that.”
I paid for my order and waited for the woman to make it.
Moments later, she returned to the window and said, “Here you go!” She handed me a rainbow colored concoction with whipped cream topping. It looked absolutely delicious. I took sip through the massive boba straw. As I chewed the first ball, I was suddenly enveloped in darkness.

Next thing I knew, I was aware that I was driving on the very top of the Skyway Bridge. My stomach plummeted to my feet as I saw myself approaching the massive spires at the top, and I was filled with acrophobic terror. I glanced over my right shoulder and felt faint as I saw how high off the waters of Tampa Bay I was. My hands were sweaty and my heart raced. I reached for the boba drink that was in my drink console and I took a sip, trying to calm myself down enough to get over the bridge.
I took another sip through the boba straw, and chewed another tapioca ball. I was transported to my childhood home, and I was laying in my bed in my bedroom in the dark. I was suddenly filled with a sense of impending doom that a demonic entity was waiting around the corner in my hallway. I saw a dark shadow coming down the hall and heard a strange breathing sound. My heart raced, and I remembered that the demon could be warded off by forming a circle of floof around yourself, and I grabbed the cup of Floof that sat on my nightstand. I poured it around myself in my bed.
“What are you doing?” A woman’s voice screamed. I was suddenly transported back to reality. I realized that I had poured the floof on a woman’s shoe, and she was glaring at me angrily. The server was laughing hard, and her eyes flashed red like a pink haired magical nurse ratched, and I bolted to the car.
That Floof really did make me face my worst fears.
