After a full day of rest, Shouta began to feel a little more energy returning to his body. The next morning, a servant knocked on his door politely, bringing new clothes that had been specially prepared for him. It was a simple but high-quality set of clothes, replacing his torn and worn ones.
"Lord Shouta, Lord Viscaunt requests your presence for breakfast," the servant said with a small smile.
Shouta hesitated for a moment, but he had no choice. He followed the servant down the long, marble-floored hallway, recalling the events from a few days ago that still felt like a bad dream. As he entered the dining room, the warm atmosphere and delicious aromas of food filled the air.
At the table, the Viscaunt family was waiting for him. Lord Viscaunt smiled kindly and gestured for Shouta to sit. "Please, sit. We've been waiting for you."
"How are you feeling, Shouta? Did you sleep well?" Lady Serina asked with a caring tone.
"Yes, thank you. I feel much better," Shouta replied, a little awkwardly.
After a few casual conversations about the food and Shouta’s health, the atmosphere at the table became a little more serious. Lord Viscaunt placed his spoon down slowly before looking at Shouta.
"So, Shouta," he began, keeping his voice casual, "What are your plans from here? Do you have anything you want to do?"
Shouta, who had been enjoying a soft piece of bread, paused for a moment. "Plans?" He scratched his head, looking confused. "Honestly... I don’t have any plans. This whole world is still a huge mystery to me."
"As expected." Lynia gave a small smile and put down her fork. "From what I see, you’re like a chick just hatched from an egg. You won’t survive without help," she said with a teasing grin.
"A-a chick! Ha... ha... ha," Shouta felt embarrassed, his face turning a little red.
Lady Serina smiled gently, trying to lighten the mood. "What Lynia means is, you need guidance, Shouta. To survive, you must have strength, right?"
"That's true. If you want, we can offer enough help to get you started," Lord Viscaunt added with a calm tone.
Shouta was surprised, almost choking on his food. "H-h-help me? How exactly?" he asked, still confused.
"We’ve decided to hire tutors for you, to teach you magic and sword fighting. They’ll make sure you know how to protect yourself and become strong," Lord Viscaunt explained simply.
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
"Hire tutors?" Shouta’s eyes widened in surprise. "But... that must be expensive! I don’t think I deserve—"
"Don’t worry about the cost," Lord Viscaunt interrupted calmly. "Think of it as an investment on our part. You may become important someday."
Three days later, an elderly man arrived to begin teaching Shouta magic. The man was Master Orlin, a tall, older man with a white beard and sharp eyes. Shouta felt a bit nervous meeting someone so authoritative.
"Ah, you must be Shouta," Master Orlin said, his voice deep and powerful. "This world is full of mysteries and dangers, and magic is one of the best ways to survive. But magic is not just power. It’s an art, and every art takes time to master."
Shouta nodded attentively, though still a little nervous. "I’ll do my best, Master."
Master Orlin gave a small smile. "Alright, let’s start with the basics. Magic isn’t just about calling power from the air. It’s about manipulating the mana inside your body. You need to be able to control it well."
Before the lesson began, Master Orlin looked at Shouta seriously. "Before we continue, we need to test the attributes within you, Shouta. Every adventurer has unique attributes that influence how they fight and use magic. Let’s see what you have."
Shouta was taken aback. "Attributes? What’s that?"
Master Orlin raised an eyebrow. "Everyone has one or more natural attributes. For example, some have exceptional physical strength, others are more adept at using mana, and some can adapt to nature better than others. We’ll test yours."
Master Orlin pulled a small crystal from his pocket and placed it in front of Shouta. "Hold this. It will measure your strength and potential."
Shouta stretched out his hand and touched the crystal. As soon as his hand made contact, the crystal began to glow, and colorful light shot out, forming several spinning circles around him. Master Orlin watched carefully.
"First attribute, physical strength. You can get stronger with training."
Shouta nodded, feeling slightly relieved. "So, I’m not weak?"
"Not at all. You have natural strength, but it’s not the strongest. Training will help," Master Orlin explained. "Second attribute, mana compatibility. You’re very good at this, Shouta. You can sense mana easily and control it better than I expected."
Shouta was surprised. "Really?"
"Yes. You have great potential for magic. You already have a natural talent for it."
"What else?" Shouta asked eagerly.
"On top of that, you also have a third attribute that’s very rare among ordinary adventurers—natural wisdom. You can quickly understand and analyze complex situations. This is an important trait in battle or when making quick decisions."
Shouta blinked in surprise. "Wisdom?"
Master Orlin nodded. "Yes. It’s also a rare advantage that most people don’t have. The combination of physical strength, mana control, and wisdom will make you an extraordinary adventurer."
Shouta felt more confident. "I... I’ll work hard to master it."
"Good. Now, let’s begin the training," Master Orlin said with a hopeful smile.
During the session, Master Orlin taught Shouta how to sense and control mana—the energy found in every living thing in this world. At first, Shouta found it difficult. Each time he tried to gather mana, his body felt weak and he struggled to control it. Every attempt required deep concentration, and he often felt like his body couldn’t handle the strain.
"What matters is patience," Master Orlin said. "You need to learn to feel it first, before you can control it."
On the same day, Shouta started sword training with Lynia. He was excited to learn sword fighting, but his body felt stiff and heavy as he held the sword for the first time.
"Don’t be too tense," Lynia advised, swinging her sword smoothly. "A sword isn’t just a weapon. It’s an extension of yourself. You must become one with it."
Shouta tried to follow Lynia’s movements, but the sword felt incredibly heavy. "Ouch... this is harder than I thought."
Lynia shook her head. "You’re still weak. This training requires both physical and mental strength. Don’t expect to be great in a day. You’ll have to work harder."
Days passed, filled with endless training sessions. Shouta trained magic with Master Orlin in the mornings, and sword fighting with Lynia in the afternoons. Although his body was often exhausted and sometimes it felt like he couldn’t go on, he kept pushing himself. Gradually, he began to feel small changes. Mana, which had once been difficult to control, now flowed more easily within his body. His sword felt lighter too.
However, beyond the training, a dark shadow still loomed. The Demon King’s forces were moving aggressively. Signs of war were beginning to appear. Monsters were becoming more active and dangerous. Small groups of demons were starting to show up. They wouldn’t stop until the world was thrown into chaos.
