Nyakuza - "Now, how do you plan on making this right?"

You’ve always heard of the Nyakuza, but you’ve never seen them before. It’s probably why they have the reputation of “you don’t find the Nyakuza, the Nyakuza finds you.” Now, you’re realizing just how true those words are as you’re ushered into a large library with velvet furniture and armed guards in suits. Too many thoughts about numerous debts rush through your head as the weight of the situation makes your stomach sink to your toes.

With your hands restrained behind your back, you’re forced onto your knees. As you stare at the floor, contemplating your limited options, the voice of a girl snaps you back to reality.

“Now, how do you plan on making this right?”

----------------------------------------

“Right you say? You think I would trust some raggedy ass ruffians like you to know what right means?”

You mustered up the audacity to talk back at this person despite knowing full well that your life is at the palm of her hands. In fact, EVERYONE in the city were just the same in the sense that their fates were at her mercy. Which is the very reason why you know for certain of the very few scenarios or fates you would have had to suffer had you chosen not to do what she least expected you to do.

“SHUT UP SCUM!”

Her sergeant yelled at you after he hit you with his gun’s stock, immediately staining the floor with your blood. It hurt so badly, but you knew you’ve had worse Thursdays if it was only her goons that showed up.

As you recovered, you caught a glance of the emblem on her outfit, and you instantly realize it was something that you’ve also seen hours earlier… and it also gave you this feeling that that is the entire reason why you’re in this whole mess to begin with.

“Oh, I absolutely adore a wittle kitty who’s desperately trying to bite before he even grows his wittle baby teeth!”

Her men laughed after she giggled at you mockingly, as well as your desperate attempts to turn the situation around.

“You’re still not listening to me, aren’t you?”

Choosing to bet on that one sign, that hunch that you have very little or no reason at all, nor concrete evidence to believe in, you put one foot forward towards this dark cave of a situation that you found yourself in.

“I beg your pardon, little kitten?”

Her eyes focuses back on you, with the slight thought and bewilderment at the back of her head, because people who are desperately clinging to life cannot be this arrogant. And this might be the only time where she was wrong; the person she’s staring down at no longer cared whether he lives or dies after meeting her.

“Would you care to elaborate on that before I end your pathetic little story, and forget that you even existed as soon as I have dinner… My cute little feral kitten.”

Noticing how she was losing patience and that she was already plotting your ending like the lover of literature she was rumored to be, you continued to make your move.

“The briefcase that your men burnt as I was trying to escape them didn’t only have money in it. There was something else in it that I’m sure you’re very much interested in.”

She stared at your eyes, scrutinizing—no, she was trying to see what you were thinking and what you were feeling—if you were telling the truth. And you stare right back at her as you continued to speak.

“That Family Emblem you have right there is interesting… You see, years ago, I saved this girl that was also being chased by some raggedy ass thugs, like these goose stepping grunts you have here. She didn’t tell me exactly why she was being hunted down nor who you guys were. But I helped her get off the grid and in exchange she told me that if I ever was in trouble, she would come back and help me out of it. Several hours earlier today, that briefcase shows up in my base, filled with a quarter of the money I owed you, and a note… ‘the money in this briefcase isn’t enough, but show her this symbol and it will be’”

Her eyes were already fuming upon hearing those words as if she knew exactly who wrote them, but even then you decided to load the last cartridge before ultimately pulling this devil’s trigger.

“And right now, I don’t even think I need to tell you what the symbol was… right ‘Miss Bookmark’?”

The leather gloves she was wearing made a sound as she squeezed her hands to fists. The corner of her lips curled upwards, and her eyes expressed happiness as she looked towards yours.

“You’ll tell me where she is, won’t you my little kitten?”

—Bonus—

In the dark passage a little girl was running towards the light. Her footsteps were making a constant clink clink clinking noises

She stops and looks back just near the exit and it was very bright.

“Tee-hee :D”
