In the beginning, there was nothing but eternal darkness, nothingness. In this darkness came light, The Primordial of light.
Aurion
With his birth came the creation of all things that was known in the universe. Aurion birth planets, stars and celestial bodies and scattered them across the universe.
But he realised he was alone with no one like him.
"In my own likeness, I create divines." His words spread throughout the universe as beings similar to him in appearance came forth, a total of nine beings.
He watched them grow and saw that it was good, so he granted each one the authority over a divine concept to make their own. The divines thrived in the pantheon he created as more and more of his kind was birth from his essence.
"Aurion, why do we not create life similar to ours to populate the lower realms? They can be made in our own likeness." Thalyon, The Verdent Guardian granted the authority over nature, harvest and life proposed to Aurion.
"Mm... It is indeed a good idea." He agreed, so he made it so.
Soon, Aurion chose a planet abundant with magical energy and created mortals and watched them grow. Unlike the divines, he did not grant them power over the heavens but still gave them the ability to sense and manipulate the energies around them.
He instructed the divines of each authority to guide the mortals and teach them what they lacked so that they may know their creators. The divines obeyed and did as instructed.
Surprisingly, the mortals were quick learners and absorbed everything the divines impacted on them. But the mortals also proved to be twisted in mind and in heart.
"Let them be. It is all part of creation." Aurion said to the divines when they witnessed the mortals they had helped create turn away from their creators.
Although there were those who still followed their teachings, for the most part, the mortals relied only on their ability to manipulate magical energy.
Millennia came and went as the divines watched the mortals rise and fall in an eternal cycle and laughed at their hubris.
"If only they accepted their makers and our guidance, none of that would be happening."
The divines mocked the mortals in their suffering, turning a blind eye to those who cried out to them in repentance.
Aurion saw all this, the ambitions of the divines, yet remained quiet.

'Give them time.'
Another millennium later, Aurion made an announcement to the divines of his pantheon.
"On this day, I, Aurion, The Supreme DIvinity, shall go into slumber. Do not fear, for my presence covers you all."
Though his words shook the pantheon, his assurance made them accept his words. Some of the divines believed he was weakened and could only regain his power through slumber while others argued that he was bored of his existence as he had remained inactive for many millennia after creation.
Whatever the reason was, Aurion went into slumber all the same, leaving the leadership of the pantheon in the hands of the first nine divines he created.
His words were indeed true as the gods could feel his presence throughout the pantheon even in his absence. So the gods remained in their homes and did nothing during his slumber.
A millennia later, Aurion awakens to find the pantheon just as he left it. The gods he birthed had completely shirked their responsibilities and remained stagnant, showing no signs of change in the way they saw mortals.
Disappointed in them, he summoned the nine gods and gave them a good scolding. He had hoped that in his slumber, the gods would take the opportunity to grow and evolve the same way the mortals did.
However, he also realised the same applied to him.
Aurion spent a decade watching the ways of the mortals, their struggles, their faults and their vices. But in all of that, they grew, learnt from their faults and evolved into something more, good or bad, still a sign of growth, a sign of change.
'Maybe...; Aurion thought in silence and the more the idea bloomed, the more it grew on him.
His desire to experience what the mortals experience every day stirred his core as he finally decided to do the unthinkable.
Becoming a mortal himself.
Without informing the others, Aurion sealed most of his powers, his memories and immortality and descended into the mortal realm.
His disappearance was felt by the entire pantheon as the divines scoured the heavens in search of his presence and when they found no traces of him, their deeply buried ambitions and desires exploded throughout the heavens, plunging the divine realm into chaos and darkness.
Fortunately for the mortal realm, the gods could not descend with their immense powers, or they would have been destroyed along with the destroyed gods.
The best they could do was to bless a mortal with their powers, granting them a small portion that could boost their might. But the gods were too busy fighting themselves to care about the lesser.
....................
Aurion abruptly opened his eyes with heavy breaths as he emerged from a lake in the depths of a forest.
"Where am I?" He asked, looking around with caution.
"Wait, I can't remember anything except my name." Panic began to set in his voice.
He took a deep breath to compose himself and found a spot under a tree to think.
"What happened to me? Did someone throw me in the river or something?" Aurion tried to recall anything, but came up black.
With nothing to his name except the clothes on his back, Aurion wondered id he could survive till he found a settlement.
Suddenly, he heard rustling noise from the bushes and quickly rose to his feet with vigilance in his eyes.
"Who's there?!" He called out in an attempt to dispel his rising heartbeat.
Slowly, the bushes were parted as a feline creature with black fur and glowing red eyes walked out. It snarled and growled at Aurion with a malevolent light in it's eyes.
"Great, I just survived drowning, now I have to worry about magical creatures too?"
Aurion felt like crying in that moment. He had no weapons except the knowledge from his magical abilities.
But his magical energy was completely dry at the moment. He could only rely on his wits and intelligence to survive or hope someone passes by and came to his aid.
