This is the day I will go to the school. I knew what the schedule of his classes is, but I don’t know the preparation needed for me to go there.
So, after doing the basic stuff such as cleaning beddings, eating food, taking baths, and more. I let Nathan do his usual routine in days like these.
(This place is the Eternal Eden University.)
We’ve arrived outside the gates of the university.
(This gate scans for my I3 when entering. If you try to pass without one, then something will beep indicating that I don’t have one. So as long as you don’t forget it, you don’t have to worry about it.)
[So this is why I need to not forget it.]
(Yeah, like I said earlier, I3 is very important. I3 is used at my job in order for my boss to monitor me that I am doing my job.)
I3 is short for Identification Interface Index. Nathan described that its purpose is similar to the identification papers. In other words, this ‘card’ is a very important item.
[What if you lose it?]
(We’ll need to spend a lot of money to reissue a new one.)
“Nathan, what’cha doing?”
“Going to school.”
(This person is Denugh Vh’n Halakhak Kuss y Moart’l, also known as Devon. He’s one of the sharpest student here, he is part of the student council of the high school section of this university.)
[His name is very long. I’m surprised.]
(If that surprised you, then wait ‘til you know the person with the longest name here in this university.)
I can’t believe it.
[Never mind, it’s not like I’m curious to want to know it.]
“That’s obvious, I mean why you’re here so early?”
“You’re very early too, you know.”
“Well, I’m part of the council. Club? Club Activity?”
“Come on Devon! What’s wrong with being early?!”
“Secret rendezvous with a girl?”
“NO! What’s wrong with you?”
“Nothing. But seriously, why’re you here?”
“I’m going to explore every nook of this school.”
“Wha…”
“AND I SWEAR, I’ll only do that!”
Nathan and Devon looked eye to eye.
Please look away, I can’t handle this.
“You’re dead serious!”
“Yeah. Any problems?”
He shakes his head.
“I want no trouble though.”
“No problem.”
He goes away.
(Anyway, he has different speech patterns and accents. You might want to get used to all of them.)
[Why?]
(The way he speaks depends on what he’s doing. I call the tone he’s shown right now ‘authority tone’.)
Basically, he wants to show that he has a power. In terms of politics?
[Is that council you’re talking about related to your politics?]
(I don’t know. The point is he has the governing power of a student from the council in the school.)
I should’ve guessed he didn’t know.
He showed me the different rooms, places, and facilities inside the school. There are a lot of different places, but he mostly shown the important places I need to go. So, I know where I need to go later.
I’ll be able to learn each room’s purpose later so it’s not a big deal that he only showed it to me.
(Do you have any more questions?)
[None so far.]
(Let’s switch then.)
I’m back to being Nathan. Now that I’m in control, I am amazed how large the school truly is. The school is supposedly part of a university so knowing that this school is only a small portion shows how large the university is.
I still have time before class, so this is a good time to explore this place myself.
(Eula, which way is Pollen?)
He automatically gave me the control of the magic and my eye. I drew the map and shows the route that Nympha is talking about.
As it stands there are two roads. The Cee forest road and the Leigh mountain road.
(Eula, what is the main difference between the two roads?)
If the caravan is to traverse the forest road, then they must handle any sneak attacks coming from the forest itself. The road is very wide since it is artificially made due to the order of Sease Isisi Cee. The forest is very dense but not as dense as jungle.
If the caravan is to traverse the mountain road, then they must be careful for possible landslide. The road itself is directly next to a cliff, and the landslide is more often to occur the larger the group that is travelling. But the road is wide enough since it is also artificially made, this time by Li’l Eahly Leigh.
I also shown to him why both roads are created. Obviously, it is to connect cities and promote faster travel and transportation of goods allowing more goods and money to flow in and out of each cities. It shows a very positive feedback from the masses that those projects were named as their main creator. Cee and Leigh.
This is only based on the map I saw years ago, so I’m not sure if some places have unreported changes.
(Alright, I’ve memorized it.)
I give back the control to him. I’ve continued my exploration of the school grounds.
…
I head to my first class. I’m pretty excited. Looks like these persons will be my classmates. Suddenly, I felt a wave of something splitting. It is only for a moment though. Perhaps, it is only my imagination.
Anyway, the class starts. The person in front of me, presumably the teacher, began introducing the subject. Perhaps this is due to the bunch of students that transferred at the same time.
(Eula, do you have a magic for transportation or anything for faster movement speed?)
[Give me a minute.]
I am pretty sure that everyone will introduce themselves because of the number of students that added.
After the professor introduced the English subject, he decided to let everyone do their introduction since this is the first meeting for majority of the students. Well, no reason to actively listen for now.
Still, transportation magic. Bi-point transport magic is the way to go, but it is impractical in this situation. I know another magic, but this magic isn’t reliable and not perfected yet which makes casting it pretty risky.
For faster movement, Terrain displacement magic might be good, but I only know how to do it theoretically, I can’t exactly show how it’s done though, so I can’t teach it.
So, is there any other form of travel? Well, we rode the land shark when we go to Loncross. He should’ve rented any transport animal back at Loncross, like a horse.
Wait, riding huh… I have an idea.
[Sorry, I don’t know any magic for long distance travel.]
They have this interesting vehicle called a bicycle or bike. I wonder if I can recreate it over there.
[But we can make a bike using magic. I don’t know how to make one though.]
(Same here.)
It means that I need to know it myself. I’m very interested in learning to make a bicycle.
[I will go to the library for information on how to create one during your break.]
(Nice! I’ll go find some materials then.)
He must have the general idea of what the bike is made out of.
“Next!”
Oh, it’s my turn. Following the format of how the people introduce themselves, I need to say my name, the country where I live, the place where I am currently staying for school, a little bit about myself, why I decided to choose this school, and a closing remark.
For those who actually enrolled here like me, instead of saying why did I chose this school, I need to say why did I decided to keep studying here.
I will copy how he introduce himself as Eunice.
“I am Ytor…uhh… Nathan Ytor…”
So, whom should I say about? …
“…I am living here at Neo-Terra…”
Myself or Nathan’s?
“…I am staying at Acacia Boarding House…”
Well, it’s Nathan the self-proclaimed ‘unpredictable’. Looks like I will improve his unpredictability here.
“…uhhhhh…”
It’s going to be so embarrassing.
“…uhhmmm…”
*cough*
“I’m not really sure how to introduce myself.”
Because I don’t know how Nathan actually introduces himself.
“So…uhh… I will not do that.”
(Hahaha! I like that.)
[DON’T LAUGH! I’m trying so hard here.]
Some of the students laugh, some of them smiled, some of them didn’t react much.
(Yeah, I know. If it makes you feel better though, I would totally say what you said.)
“…hmm…”
[Nathan, why did you choose this school?]
(Just…Let me speak.)
Nathan is now speaking.
“But seriously, I am the most average person that you’ll ever meet. What is ‘most average’, you may ask? I don’t know. Basically, it depends on your interpretation of me, your impression of me, how you labelled me or how you wanted me to be. I can be someone who annoys you, I can be someone you depend on, and the list goes on and on. The point is that there’s no point, because I’m only an average person, but remember that every one of us is special, meaning being average is always something new, something unique. Some of you may dislike being average, some of you may like being average, but let me tell you that each of us contributes something for a larger something. The contribution may be small, it may also be large, but the point is each one of us is important that if someone is missing, it makes a large difference. It’s just like the butterfly effect. We…”
“Nath…”
“Sh…sh…sh… I’m not finished.”
Nathan is basically rambling nonsense at this point. He has gone way off topic.
[Nathan!]
(I know! Just trust me and listen.)
“…many of you have noticed that I’ve gone way off topic. You might be thinking that I’ve gone way off topic that I am only supposed to be introducing myself. But the thing is I’m doing this for someone. I will not say his or her name, but let me tell you that I am giving that person enough time to think how to introduce himself or herself…”
Everyone seemed surprised. I am also surprised.
“…I’m not saying that I know you, or feel that you needed help. Maybe, you don’t want my help. But I want to show you that we have a freedom to choose what we want to do, like I want to try helping you even if you want it or not. Of course, you might not believe freedom, that we are restricted by rules and regulations. But did you consider to think that we are actually having the freedom to choose whether to abide to the rules or not…”
Wait… Is he actually referring to me?
“…I know that my speech has gone too long. Maybe, I feel like I should stall him or her a lot of time for him or her to think. Maybe, I am having fun saying all of those that I didn’t want to stop. Maybe, someone actually dared me to introduce myself for a very long time. Actually, someone did actually dared me to do this…”
All of them are surprised.
“Anyway, like I said before I lived here in Neo-Terra, that’s because when I saw an opportunity to save my sister, I grabbed it. I chose to study at this university because it’s the nearest to where I stay and work, I guess. Actually, I want my sister to be proud of me, because I know that this university has very high ratings. Uhh, yeah. That’s about it. Welcome guys and thanks for having me, I guess.”
I sit down. I feel like someone is staring at me. I should just read the books while waiting for the actual lesson.
…
This is the second class. We introduced ourselves again. At least I know what to say now.
“Nathan, where is your career plan?”
[Nathan, what is the ‘career plan’ your teacher is talking about?]
(The career plan is a paper where you write the career you want to take. I don’t really care or know what career I should take, so you should write yours.)
[What are the careers?]
(There are a lot of them. Just say that you are still undecided.)
If you find this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the infringement.
“Sorry, I am still undecided.”
…
The third class is finished.
(What’s your first impression about the set of classes you took?)
[Aside from taking nearly half of the time due to new students introducing themselves, I like how each teacher have their own style of teaching.]
(You’re going to love the class this afternoon then. I find the class of Prof. Ignacio and Prof. Yn to be the most enjoyable.)
[I’ll be having great expectations then.]
Time to research for the bike. I go to the library.
[Where’s the computer?]
(They don’t have that kind of system there, so you have to ask a librarian for the book itself, or find it on your own.)
[I presume that I need to ask the person behind that counter?]
(Yeah.)
I approached that person and asked,
“Do you have a bike?”
[Hahaha! Yeah, Eula, ask if he has a bike.]
(SHUT UP!)
That person is smiling at me.
“Do you mean a book about bikes?”
“Yes. It will be more helpful if it shows how to make one though.”
“Please, give me a minute.”
(So, did he have a bike?)
[I said stop it, besides you don’t even have to ask because you can see the situation.]
(I know.)
Here comes that person.
“Here is a manual that shows information about bikes and how to make one. I hope this helps.”
I skimmed the book and it seems to have the information I needed.
“Thank you for letting me borrow this book.”
“You’re very welcome.”
I sit down to one of the chairs and I began reading the manual.
…
[We’ll create a mountain bike.]
(How fast can you read Eula?)
[I don’t know.]
Am I reading too fast? No, I think I am reading at an average speed. Nathan is just a slow reader.
“Nathan.”
It’s Devon.
“Devon?”
“Seriously, what’s with you today? First, you’ve gone to school very early, then you’re here in the library. I’m also feeling something different about you this time.”
(I told you this guy is pretty sharp.)
[I can see that.]
Or maybe, Nathan and Devon knows each other for a long time that slight differences are pretty obvious for him. Let Nathan be Nathan then.
I don’t really want to say this.
“Are you perhaps… in love with me~~?”
“Hell no!”
“Ehhmm!!!”
“Devon, we are in a library.”
(Nice one, Eula!)
[Don’t mention it.]
One time when I am in a library. I was distracted by a couple who were teasing with each other. Basically, I only copied that scenario.
“Bikes, huh. You walk to school. You said that you’re not interested before.”
(It’s true. I found it to be a waste of money, because I can walk or run to my destination instead of buying one.)
“It doesn’t matter, I’ll make one.”
“Then... Materials?”
“I’ll manage.”
I’ll be making this on the other world so I don’t have to worry about that.
“I know someone who has a lot of technical knowledge about bikes. I can call him now if you want.”
“Yes, thank you.”
“*sigh*”
He takes out a rectangle object and did something on it. Suddenly, he started talking.
[What’s that?]
(Phone. It has many functions, which includes connecting to other phones in order to communicate. In case you ask, I don’t have one because I don’t need it.)
That’s very obvious, given his circumstances.
“Meet with him during our next break at the engineering annex building, in front of room 416.”
It’s about time for the next class.
“Sure.”
I’ve attended the next class.
…
(Eula, can you show me the map again?)
I drew the map again. I also pointed out his position.
(How did you know where I’m at? Is there a GPS magic?)
[I don’t know what a GPS is, but I’m observing you the entire time so I can accurately assume your position on the map.]
(I wonder what the limitation of a genius is.)
[It depends per people.]
(How about you?)
[Look, I am also a human. You can do what I can do.]
(…)
[What?]
(I have an idea. Maybe you could study the difference of humans on both of our worlds. What if you can actually make mana there?)
[I considered that. Unfortunately, I don’t know how to start differentiating both of those. Even if I did manage to somehow know the difference of those two, nothing very significant will change.]
(How so?)
[When we first switched, have you felt anything new sensations?]
(Well, aside from the feeling of new parts and loss of some parts. There is the mana.)
[Is that all?]
(Probably. What is your point?)
[Have you felt any sensations of like mana before you even experienced it?]
(I guess not. I don’t remember having that sensation. But there is still a possibility that it exists though.)
[I know. The point is every other sensations are nearly the same. Meaning, the structure of our bodies are infinitely close to being identical, if you don’t factor the existence of mana of course.]
(Point taken. Still, you’re insane for being able to think of that.)
[I don’t know. It might be wrong though.]
(Probably. Aside from the fact that you’re pretty smart, your stamina is pretty impressive.)
[What’s with the complements?]
(I have to know if your stamina is actually normal or not. This type of stamina might be considered above average in our world, but I don’t know if this standard applies to this world.)
Now that I think about it, I can’t believe that I improved that much though.
[Your standard applies here as well.]
My only basis for my stamina is this event that had me and Ignis escaping terrorists. I managed to keep up with his running, that both of us were exhausted at the same time. Well, Ignis is wearing heavy armor and is carrying all of my baggage. So, I guess he could probably run much longer if I was the one carrying my baggage.
(Let me guess, you didn’t notice that you’ve walked for a long time because you are busy reading a book.)
[No, I still need to be careful about wandering criminals.]
(Come on, it will never happen. One look at you and they’ll get charmed. They’ll let you do what you do.)
[No way.]
(Better idea, just seduce them and make your own fan club that fights for you.)
[SHUT UP!]
(Yeah, sorry. I think that’s excessive.)
I sensed something. Looks like Nathan also sensed it too since he turned around. We see four people.
(Speaking of the devil, are those people what I think they were?)
[Probably, just ask them. It could be anything. Why did you stop doing that?]
The class has just finished and the next one is about to start. Which means, more introduction.
This might be a good time to teach the ‘shot’ variant.
…
After teaching him the ‘shot’ variant. He’s in control of the magic again.
It is funny watching these four get lured into who knows where.
…
…
We’ve now acquired the potential candidate for rubber. But, I am in the middle of a discussion. I guess I’ll make it later then.
…
Does he really have to bring that girl with him? I doubt that he really have a plan, but he is supposedly unpredictable. So, okay.
…
After he successfully learned the magic he needed to carry her, I found out that the girl is a member of ‘Fly Die High’. It might be very important later on.
The girl is a Lycan. No wonder she has a small build. If I am right, then she is actually older than me. She seems powerful though.
…
He found the Death Caravan and someone is already dead.
(Eula, help me remember all of this.)
[Don’t worry, I’ll try to remember every last detail.]
All I can observe at Nathan’s position is that the victim is stabbed in the back.
I somehow memorized the basic features of the 231 person outside the carriages. There are still a lot of person here, especially inside some carriages, but I can’t memorize someone I can’t see. Well, I might notice them earlier.
(Thanks.)
He proceeded to go to another place.
*rattle* *rattle*
There is someone here.
Someone hostile to us.
That person is using a chain dagger. I am impressed that Nathan could actually make ‘formless mana tool’. Although it is imperfect for now, I think this can do with this battle.
That person is also a ‘Lover’s bond’ user. They’re good at mana harmonization. But the magic aren’t utilized properly that it can’t withstand Nathan’s utilization is still better.
Nathan is really good at multi-tasking. He just needs more knowledge and practice. I feel really bad that he has to bear with my physique though.
[There is a ‘piercing blast’ mixed in the ‘blast’!]
(Thanks.)
[Don’t mention it.]
Well, at least he is compensated with knowledge. Besides, he seems to not retort about it.
Or maybe, he is actually interested in me. Well, I don’t really care, for now.
…
He retreated.
(That person is clearly holding back, it’s scary.)
[Why do you think so?]
(He can cast that many magic at the same time, it means that he is that good that he might know more magic which he didn’t cast.)
[Maybe, but that’s not something to be worried about.]
(What do you mean?)
[You need to worry about the fact that he’s also bound by the ‘Lover’s bond’. Meaning, those casts must be done by the other person which brings us the main thing to be worried about.]
(There’s another person?!)
[Yes, I’m highly positive.]
…
…Then he suspects Sofia. I don’t know the thing he said will make her spill the beans, but she doesn’t have trace of ‘Lover’s bond’ within her. Also, she doesn’t the same height as that person.
Height is one of the hardest things to disguise or hide, even with magic. That doesn’t mean it can’t be done though, because I faked my height during my disguise.
…
Classes are finished. I need to stay at the Acacia Boarding House this time.
Nathan guided me towards the place. I’m supposed to be at Room A10.
Here I am. This place is actually neat. There is no computer here, but there is a strange object on top of his desk.
[The computer you will be using is that laptop. It nearly has the same controls as the computer, the only difference you might see is the layout of the keyboard and the touch pad. Swiping the touch pad will move the cursor, tap is a left click. Two simultaneous taps for right click or press the button on the lower right. Swiping two fingers is for scrolling.]
I began researching for several stuff as well as the way to earn money fast.
…
After eating canned foods, I determined that Nathan will be tailing the Death Caravan for much longer. Instead of waiting for him to finish, I decided that I’ll hit the bed early.
…
(Eula!)
I immediately woke up and analysed the situation. There are two persons who are sneaking inside the inn. One of them is the person that Nathan battled earlier.
[I know already. Let me use my magic.]
(Eula, if I’m correct, then there is a possibility that there’s three of them.)
[Yes.]
Those three possible person are: The person Nathan battled earlier; his companion who is sneaking together with him; his partner for the ‘Lover’s Bond’.
The partner’s location is unknown. Maybe waiting as a backup, lying in ambush, or they are a single bond fighter. Either way, things will get messy.
I adjusted his view to third person as he usually does. He is planning to ambush them as they sneak inside. Since I know his nature, I am highly positive that this ambush will absolutely work. The biggest problem is unknown person.
I feel that they are about to go inside the door.
Suddenly, they stopped in front of the door. I sense no strange magic phenomena and I sense no surprise attack coming from the other entrance, the window.
(Are they talking to each other?)
[Probably.]
That place is one of the worst place to make noise. If they are planning their attack just now, then they are actually stupid.
Huh? The other person’s mana is actually familiar.
Hmm…
…
…
…
[I know who the other person is.]
(Who is it?)
Suddenly the door creaks open.
“Eunice?”
[It’s Sofia.]
“Sofia? What are you doing here?”
“Gondarr said that he felt that the culprit is inside this room. You are not the culprit, aren’t you?”
I understand where this is going.
“I am not. Is he the one who attacked me earlier with his chain dagger?”
“Sofia, it’s her!”
He probably thinks that we are the culprit who is responsible for killing people of the Caravan.
“Listen, I am not the one you are looking for.”
“See! She knows that we are looking for someone.”
Sofia suddenly punched him.
“I am very sorry that Gondarr attacked you earlier.”
“You don’t have to apologize. I learned something from that fight, you could say that he helped me improve myself.”
“Listen! She could be lying!”
“I am sorry that Gondarr is very stupid.”
“She is a total stranger, why do you trust her?”
Good question.
“Well…”
She is very silent.
“Is that when I saved…”
She covered our mouth and whispered,
“Please keep that a secret between us.”
Nathan whispered to her.
“Are you actually bad with ghosts and stuff?”
“Yes, so please, keep silent.”
“Okay.”
“What are you two whispering about?”
“Nothing important.”
“Remember, just because Sofia trusts you doesn’t me that we trust you.”
“I know. I also thought that the two of you are the culprits so it’s only fair.”
“You suspected me?!”
“Yes, I suspected you. But I am referring to Gondarr and his partner.”
“What are you talking about? I am his partner.”
“I mean his ‘Lover’s bond’ partner.”
They look surprised.
“How did you know that?”
“I will tell you later. I want to sleep now.”
“No! You tell me this instant.”
“Sofia, please.”
“Let’s go Gondarr. Save the question when we meet tomorrow.”
“Fine.”
“If it’s okay, bring your ‘Lover’s bond’ partner too.”
“Never!”
“Okay. See you tomorrow.”
“Bye, Eunice.”
They left the room.
(That was anti-climactic.)
[You probably told Sofia where we staying.]
(Yeah, that’s why she knew I am staying in this inn. I didn’t tell her which room though.)
It must have happened while I am sleeping.
[Any other significant things that had happened?]
(No. We just tailed the caravan. No one died. No encounters. No one’s spying us. Everything’s normal so far. Although, I will wake up in three hours. Investigate for an hour at least, then sleep for 5 more hours.)
[Why?]
(Instincts.)
[Just wake me up though.]
(I know.)
I go back to sleep.
…
(Eula.)
I woke up.
[You woke up for approximately 30 minutes late.]
(I did? Your body must have been pretty exhausted then, or I felt too comfortable again like I did yesterday morning.)
[You DID felt too comfortable.]
(I know.)
We investigated the Caravan. Nothing interesting happens. He goes back to the Inn.
(That was anti-climactic.)
[I’ll be waking up earlier than you. So, do you want me to wake you up?]
(Yeah, in 4 hours and 30 minutes or if you need my help.)
[Okay.]
We go back to sleep.
…
I hit something as I am opening the door.
I looked behind the door and found a tray with foods on it.
There is a note. It’s hard to read unorthodox handwriting but I found it very pretty and stylish.
‘Eat this. I heard that you always eat canned food.’
When is this placed here? I still have a lot of time, so for the time being I could try to research if it can be eaten.
“Wait!”
“Hmm?”
I see Vanessa coming out of her room, which is only next door beside Nathan’s room.
“Don’t eat that.”
“Why?”
“I left it there yesterday, it must have spoiled by now. Why didn’t you eat it? You idiot.”
I must have been too focused in researching that I didn’t notice her putting it here.
“I’m sorry.”
What should I do now?
“Give me that. I’ll prepare another one.”
Who is she? I should probably take her offer. She might get mad if I try to refuse.
…
It will happen supposedly today. It also happens in this world so Nathan should know about it.
[Nathan!]
(Is it time?)
[Yes. Also, today, my menstruation… You know what I am talking about.]
(Yeah, what should I do then?)
…
We are having a quiz.
Nathan meets the three of them.
“Sofia must have said who I am by now, but I am Ytor. You can call me Eunice Ytor.”
“No one is ask…Oww.”
“I’m sorry for his behaviour but he is really kind, I promise. I am Iris Perona Arundell. He is Gondarr Stinson.”
“Anyway, you are not part of the group of adventurers who participates in protecting the Caravan. Why is that?”
Sofia replies,
“Tell us first why you are doing it by yourself.”
“Fair enough. I want to meet the culprit and ask why they are doing this. My actions depends on their answer.”
That is his objective, huh. It’s not like I didn’t consider it though.
Gondarr replies,
“So, you might help the culprit.”
“I don’t know. Maybe.”
He threw his chain dagger. Nathan conjured a ‘formless mana tool’ to grab the dagger.
Sofia shouted,
“Gondarr!”
Nathan glared Gondarr and said,
“How about you answer my question first?”
“Stop it sweetie, she might also oppose the culprit.”
“You heard her.”
He withdrew his chain dagger.
“Tch…”
Sofia says,
“Anyway, you seem reasonable so it’s okay to tell her right?”
Gondarr replies,
“Go ahead.”
“Eunice, when did you think the killing started?”
“They said that they only noticed it four years ago, so I presume that it started long before. A wild guess would be 13 years ago.”
“No, it started 10 years ago.”
It took 6 years for it to be noticed huh. How was it noticed then?
“Have you heard of the ‘Fly Die High’?”
“Yes. But only its existence.”
“This killing is a yearly ceremony of ‘Fly Die High’. There will be 30 participants. I will not go into specifics, but there is a rule which involves killing and getting killed.”
“A game?”
“Yes. Well, there is also a rule which involves faking a death. There is one time that half of them gets a kill but all of them returned alive by the end of the ceremony.”
That is pretty amazing.
“What’s with the huge number of deaths then?”
“4 years ago, because of a certain incident, it’s been noticed by the public. It turns out, someone is committing mass murder during the ceremony. We changed the place of our ceremony since then.”
“What are you trying to do now?”
“Some people who knows the true nature of the ceremony still blames the ‘Fly Die High’ to be responsible for the killings these past years. So, we decided to catch the culprit of this incident.”
“What’s your plan then?”
“To catch the culprit.”
“That’s your objective. I mean how will you catch the culprit?”
“We’ll wait until the culprit strikes, then we’ll ambush them.”
“That’s the best plan if you don’t have information and you can’t gather information. But since they will be staying here, we can blend in with the crowd and we can gather more information, so we can form better plan than the plan you suggested.”
“Is that so?”
[Nathan, one more thing though.]
(I’m listening.)
[I found a letter inside your locker.]
(What about it?)
[It’s from Devon, he wants you to attend the meeting later in the afternoon.]
(Is it alright for you? You know that I will be excused from class which means you won’t be able to attend several classes.)
[It’s not like I desperately want to attend a class. Besides, the meeting will happen during the break and the meeting seems important though.]
(Yeah, they might be giving me money. So, it is kind of important.)
[Okay then. We’ll switch later.]
(Alright. Also, can you create the bike while later on?)
[Yes, I’m planning to do that.]
“Anyway, we don’t have any leads aside from the murder yesterday. So, just investigate for strange events. We’ll meet here in 9 hours or if something happens.”
“We’ll do.”
They all left.
…
It’s break already. I should read the materials for the next subjects.
“Heeeey!”
I looked up and there is a girl in front of me.
“Nathan…Correct?”
I remember that she is Ai Heng, a Yourtuber. A Yourtuber, as defined in the internet, ‘are a class of Internet celebrity and videographers who have gained popularity from their videos on the video-sharing website, Yourtube.’
“Ai Heng. What should I call you?”
“You remembered me! Do you perhaps watched my videos?”
“No.”
“If you’re interested, feel free to watch. You can call me DQ. That’s what I’m called on Yourtube. Anyway, I’m doing a vlog and I want to interview you, if it’s okay.”
[Nathan, what do you think?]
(Decline. Tell her that I don’t want to be seen on camera.)
“I’m sorry. I don’t want to be seen on camera.”
“I can censor your face if you want.”
(Still no.)
“I am really sorry.”
“Okay, if that’s what you want. Gotta go, bye.”
(Don’t feel bad about her, that girl is most likely used in being declined.)
[If you say so.]
“NATHAAAN!”
(Eula, SWITCH!)
[Huh?!]
We switched.
Someone tried to punch Nathan but he blocked it with his hand.
“What is your problem?!”
“The heck are you doing yesterday! You didn’t show up!”
“The event will happen today not yesterday!”
The force from his hands fades away.
“Really?”
“Our ticket is scheduled today, so yeah.”
He checked something from his pocket.
“Oh, you’re right. Ahaha… Sorry, wrong mistake.”
That statement is redundant.
(That is Richard Reyes. You can do whatever you want to him. You could say that he is the best stress reliever you can find.)
What did he mean by stress reliever?
*boom*
An explosion.
[What’s that?]
(Something is going on behind the scenes. Don’t worry about it.)
*bzzzt*
‘Testing, 1, 2, 3.’
“Hello this is Ja. New students don’t be alarmed with the explosion, it’s not something major. I repeat, new students don’t be alarmed with the explosion, it’s not something major.”
(See.)
[If you say so.]
“Also, Nathan Ytor of class 13-Alpha go to the office, I repeat Nathan Ytor of class 13-Alpha go to the office.”
(You investigate the Death Caravan. I’ll deal with this.)
He heads outside. There were more announcements, but all of it seems unimportant.
(Come on! Author, I hate you for doing this so early! My identity’s supposed to be a mystery!)
[You probably jinx it by assuming that.]
(Probably, but I jinxed the jinx by assuming that my identity will actually be exposed because I said that my identity is a mystery.)
[Just don’t jinx in the first place.]
(My mistake.)
[Besides, is it really about your identity?]
(I don’t know, most likely.)
Then don’t assume it in the first place.
*boom* *boom*
“I’m very sorry if you are having inconvenience, but this is only natural.”
It’s the announcer again.
(Hey Eula.)
[What?]
(What do you think of the author who writes our story?)
[What about the author?]
(You know, he should let us finish dealing with the Caravan first rather than presenting another problem.)
[Yes, but this is real life, life is full of problems and you can’t escape that.]
(Yeah, I know.)
…
…
…
Narrator: “Can I make my debut now?”
Author: ‘Sure. But for only two sentences and you already said the first.’
Narrator: “That’s not fair… Ahh!”
Author: “That is enough. You will show up in Chapter 15 anyway so be patient.”
