Waking up gasping for air drenched in sweat from the strange dream, alarm blaring in the background still not fully conscious. Oh shit Todays the badminton teams trip and I'm super excited. Down a flight of stairs in a single bound grabbing my bag, racket and shoes then straight out the front door. Taking the corner at a dead sprint, the school is only 5 miles away and every day I try to beat my personal record of 3mins. Keeping my speed a secret has been hard trying to hold back so I don't stand out too much just enough to win, I've never really had to try hard to beat anyone at badminton, when the racket is in my hands I feel as if everything slows down the birdy takes forever to come back. The sound of the wind as I swing the racket is my favorite I cannot get enough of it, every time I swing I use just enough force to make the sound and not too much force as to destroy the birdy or the racket. Speed, accuracy, finesse, over strength it's all about the perfect touch. Making it to school in 3.03 minutes "darn almost " so close to beating my record today that's ok though I don't wanna go all out before the tournament. I see my friends Chris and miles with big smiles "hey Mike! ready to win everything? Yea yea" I say to him. I would have to try hard just to lose, I really just wanna play and have fun maybe see some new tricks. He slapped me on the back " Roger Roger let's hop on the buss everyone got here like 15 minutes early, did you sleep in again." " You caught me I do love to sleep but I didn't sleep well last night, but it's nothing" I say cheerfully as I hope on the buss and take a seat only 10 of us qualified for the badminton tournament.
Half an hour into the trip down a long road in a really rural area I get a very bad feeling. Panic I feel like I'm about to have a panic attack. Sweat starts pouring from everywhere all of my awareness was focused. I don't know how I know but something really bad was about to happen. In the instant I saw it, a man dressed in black stepped out in front of the buss. he came from nowhere and the buss swerved wildly then it hit a ditch and rolled violently. Everyone was screaming as the buss rolled but everyone And everything was on super slow motion I moved dodging bodies and equipment. Then everything stopped. The buss door creaked open and the man in the black hoodie with sharp grey eyes, face cloaked in shadow. He stepped on the buss and a wave of relentless pressure washed over me and I was afraid. The man in grey look right into my eyes and smiled I knew then he was here for me. Time seemed to stretch out like one of those old westerns, looking into his eyes was like staring at a wild animal ready to ponce. The grey man tilted his head and whispers softly "seems you are not yet ready but I guess I'll have to give you a once over". Then he exploded moving effortlessly around all my hopefully unconscious friends and equipment that was thrown around during the crash he flowed to me. Grabbing me by the collar he twisted his hips, then I was upside down and airborne. Crashing through the side of the tattered buss, hitting the ground hard and tumbling through the open field. This man was super dangerous and ridiculously strong. Rolling to my feet looking back towards the bus he was nowhere to be seen then a whisper came from my right " too slow" a searing pain stabbed through my ribs as his left hand thudded deep into my Body and I went flying. I'm not talking about flying like a bird or a plane I'm saying he skipped me across a pond like a pebble but instead of a pond it was an open field. Now I was really hurt I actually can't remember ever being hurt before this moment I think im going to be killed without even the chance to fight back at all I never thought I could get my ass kicked so easily. Standing up making sure nothing was too broken I surveyed my surroundings, where is he I need to evade his next… as that thought was running through my head I heard the slightest sound of a footstep pushing off the ground. Now , I rolled to my right as a grey Bloor weaved from where I was to where I was going he slammed into me and I held my ground this time, I dug my feet into the ground and tried to throw a punch but he already wrapped me up he had one hand on my wrist the other hand tucked under my armpit. I had no chance his strength and skill was too overwhelming he spun me over his head and he slammed the earth into my body or at least that's what it felt like everything went dark.

Waking up with a splitting headache, well I guess everything ached" Ugh" I say out loud stupidly. "shh stay still you've been really hurt in a bus accident your in an ambulance and we are transporting you along with some of your other injured friends to the hospital. It seems you only have a few cracked ribs and a concussion, you were the most severely hurt person in the crash." The paramedic said softly. So? Seams that no one saw what happened after the crash? but I knew what had happened, I was beaten easily and quickly. more to the point, What do I do next? I feel like it wasn't a coincidence that we met but what chance do I have of even being on equal footing as him. I need a plan. Maybe I should take up some martial arts but even then I would have to get much stronger and faster. So much to think about, badminton will never be as thrilling as it once was, that's for sure! it will never be as thrilling or adrenaline packed as a life or death situation where you face a monster in a human disguise. After a few days of my parents fretting over me at home I went back to school but everything seemed so dull. Everyone that talked to me sounded drab and distant even my parents sounded so far away I still need a plan, this went on and on, I needed a change, a big one.
