**Chapter 23:** The Predator's Tra

His gaze suddenly became intense, gripping my wrist firmly as he lifted the soup to my lips. "No need to rush on the matter of 'lending' a kiss; let's not let this soup go cold," he suggested, a hint of coercion in his voice.

Desperately searching for an excuse to decline, the bowl was already uncomfortably close to my mouth. "Allow me to assist," he persisted, eager to witness my compliance. Resolutely sealed lips prevented any of the soup from entering, but as I stood to escape, his grasp tightened.

The sound of shattered pottery filled the room as the bowl crashed to the ground, its contents splattering messily. Jiang Lun's fists clenched in frustration.

"I apologize, Jiang. That wasn't my intention," I offered, hoping to calm his rising temper. Instead, his anger seemed to escalate, his hands dragging me toward the bed with a disturbing intent.

"A toast refused invites punishment. Had you simply complied, none of this would be necessary," he hissed, his actions betraying his true intentions.

Despite my frantic resistance, he remained unmoved, his grip causing me pain. "Jiang, what are you doing? Let go; you're hurting me!" I pleaded, panic evident in my voice.

Hurled onto the bed, the world spun around me. When my vision cleared, Jiang's figure loomed, his intentions clear as he began to undress. The charming face I once knew now seemed monstrous.

Cornered, I scrambled backward, only to be forcefully pulled back. "You offered help, did you not? A moment's rest in exchange for two hundred thousand. And as it's your first time, I'll be gentle. Why not make this easy for both of us?" he reasoned, his body pinning mine down, his breath hot against my skin.

"Jiang, I can secure the funds for you. Please, spare me," I begged, desperation evident in my voice. It was then I noticed a camera, its red light blinking ominously, capturing our struggle.

This realization fueled my defiance, my hands flailing wildly, marking him with scratches. His expression darkened, and he pulled back momentarily, only to strike me across the face, the pain sending me reeling.

"Cooperation was all you needed, yet you chose defiance," he sneered, tearing my dress apart, leaving me exposed and vulnerable. Despite my attempts to cover myself, his gaze only intensified, his anticipation palpable.

"Trust me, I won't hurt you. Just relax and enjoy," he murmured, his hands locking mine above my head, leaving me utterly defenseless.

In this moment of utter despair, I couldn't help but think of my sister, enduring far worse, her hope extinguished long before mine. Jiang's unrestrained force left me feeling shattered, tears blurring my vision until, at the precipice of my ordeal, the door burst open.
