Rein and Lee were quickly kicked out with the promise of continuing their earlier conversations after they 'dealt with it'.
Rein could hear more screams down the street, large swaths of people were running directly at them. He could see the fear this was causing, the fear and pain the doctors little experiment seemed to cause. As pieces of broken glass and pieces of steel were falling off the tower. Nobody was able to tell what was causing it, they were just afraid for their lives. The streets of New York were not used to monsters crashing down on them.
Rein and Lee, slowly made their way over, both of the respective fists were balled up so tightly, neither could even feign the air of confidence.
As Rein walked up to it, praying that some hurky durky magic comes out of this red spot he managed to receive, but before he even got the chance he felt a slight breeze touch his head.
"Can you move already," Lee said in a despairing tone. Rein looked up to see a steel beam above his head. On the verge of soiling himself, he quickly moved just in time for Lee to drop the piece of steel on the ground. Lee looked back at Rein, was clearly apologetic in his puppy dog eyes he tried to give Lee."I'm sorry Rein, I think I only have max two more of those left in me, max one if I need to stop the big ugly fella from getting near us."
Reins hands began to jitter a bit, his only safety net is being taken away from him.
As the two ran up the streets of Manhattan, they sky scrapers felt as if they lost some of there majesty after having seen a glimpse of the black tower. It almost felt like poor imitations of, not even close to the grandeur and fear the true tower created.
Rein looked up just as the white ape was shooting to the ground, clearly fall damage didn't apply if you don't have legs. As the two approached the thing, neither had any idea on how to do fight it, but figured there battle positions they assumed last time would be correct.
Lee despite his larger size ran back, while Rein tapped into his one wrestling class in high-school, and assumed a fighters stance. Arms out and ready to grapple, he slowly made his way to the ape, sweat beaded down his forehead. His knees began to shake he wasnt going toe to toe with an opponent, where a judge could stop him. No he was facing off with a creature that wouldn't hesitate to tear his head off.
The ape used his one large hand to balance and stand while using the other as his primary weapon, for now the ape didn't even seem to see them as threats and was just letting out steam. The ape just punched the concrete over and over until it cracked and destroyed, he breathed heavy and his beady eyes seemed to hold some hatred for the buildings around them.
'Of course hes upset, 1000's of years locked up, finally he gets out just to be surrounded by towers.' Rein sympathized but wasn't stupid enough to back off of or feel sorry for the ape in this time of danger.
After the ape successfully pulverized the nearby concrete, and chunks of buildings around them it turned to Rein. A new target was locked in his eyes.
Before Rein could even react the large fist threw him against a nearby brick wall, Lee didn't have the reaction time either to step in and stop it.
Rein opened his eyes shakily, he could feel his lungs were cracked along with his multiple internal wounds. But, this should have killed him, he should be putty against that wall from that much force. Along with that his stomach was still in one piece, the red piece of skin seems to act like a shield, completely unscathed as he strained his neck to look at it.

Rein could see the Ape slowly make his way over to him, he clearly wanted to finish one job before starting another. As the ape got into some kind of striking distance, it suddenly stopped. Rein could see lee concentrating as hard he could, it seems his ability directly was tied to the weight and power of the thing he stopped. And this thing was anything if not powerful. Rein quickly started to think if he had gained anything from the creature he had killed earlier, he needed some kind of attack ability, anything to get him out of this situation. He tried to remember the long claws the also ape like creature seemed to produce, capable of cutting a road open.
Just as, the ape was regaining control, Rein knew Lee had bought what time he could. He felt a tingle in his hand an followed by a shooting pain as he felt his muscles move and contort along with his bones, restructuring. This pain happened in an instant but Rein felt every step of it as if it happened in slow motion. As the white ape was bearing down his clubs for firsts, Rein moved his hand to protect himself, closing his eyes out of instinct.
As the light of the city broke his vision, as he opened his eyes, he felt a deep amber liquid drip onto himself. Rein could instinctively tell it was blood, but he also knew it wasn't his. He heard Lee gasp and looked up, what was once his hand was now replaced by the claw of the ape he had fought before. and it was deeply impaled into the body of the creature before him. Rein moved his arm in an attempt to dislodge the claws that were embedded into the creature. But, the creature resisted... It was still alive.
This thought felt like a bucked of cold water on Reins head, the creature before him was still alive with a deep puncture wound into its head and chest, an amazing feet by Rein and his claw but even more amazing by the white ape.
it began to press closer to Rein using its moving arm clearly determined to kill him, no matter the cost.
Just as he saw Lee was starting to run over metal pipe in hand, Rein noticed the pressure from the ape loosen and completely disappear, he couldn't tell why but suddenly it was dead.
From the corner of his eye, he noticed some small lines on the ape, almost like strings and just as he reached to touch one the string completely cut the ape in half taking in tow the larger part of the ape.
Before Rein could see what was taking the ape he knew he needed to grab a piece of it, he didn't care who was taking this thing from him, but he knew his strange ability relied on having a key piece of the creature so he grabbed its big fist, and as disgusting as it was reached for its head, grabbed one of its now bulging and loose eyes from its socket.
Without a second to spare, he saw a black shadow escape his palm, it absorbed into him. The two pieces of the now dead creature were absorbed. Rein had almost puked seeing the shadow, it reminded him of the tower, like he was a mini tower absorbing creatures into his body. The he knew he was onto something as the shadow that came out of him held the same slithery nasty properties of the tower.
Lee approached him, clearly distracted by whatever had sent the deadly string. Rein was also curious that the person had been able to instantly incapacitate the ape, where Rein and Lee barely held him down without dying. Now that he was thinking about it Rein suddenly felt another wave of fear wash over him, as he thought about how easily that person could kill him.
"Clearly whatever that thing that that killed this thing, doesn't see us as a threat, and it wasn't offended by your little grab," Lee thought Reins decision to take a piece was a wise decision.
"Hey fair and square, i did my part with my... hand claw power," Rein had defended his decision, he knew he needed to get stronger. As he was trying to point to his claw he noticed it changed back into a hand. 'Phew', he thought wouldn't be comfortable to walk around with that thing on him. Rein suddenly felt that his current mental state wasn't normal, he looked up at Lee and spoke seriously, "Lee, why didn't we break down in front of that thing. Not just a week a ago I would have been with the crowd running for my life. A got my ribs cracked, which by the way I can already feel are slowly healing and I still managed to hold it together to fight."
Lee gave him a contemplative look, "I thought about that too, I was fully willing to fight that thing with a pipe a few second ago... I would have died, but I had no fear, or rather I had control over my fear, like it was just background noise."
They looked at each other, some colour was returning to Rein's face, "Let's see if Akeem, knows about this," Rein grabbed the hand Lee extended but quickly realized he wasn't getting up for a bit, at least not without some heavy help.
