as they marched towards Rave city the soldiers inside the city were in great panic as they saw their leaders houses set on fire on top of that they had no one to assume command which made the situation much more dire. nonetheless the soldiers did the best they could as they still went to put out the fire.
while the soldiers were running around in great panic the mercenary group reunited in front of the city gate which was the destination they agreed upon after finishing their assassination. as they gathered Khalid spoke and said "alright, since everyone is here I assume you all have done your jobs without any hindrances so let's move on to the next part, remember once we open the gates we will join the soldiers and help them in taking out the enemy soldiers, after seizing the city our job is over so let's get this done shall we?" they all replied "YES,SIR!" as they opened the gates for the soldiers to come in.
even though technology was advanced the world didn't have much fortune in the car development part only the royals had access to them but they all relied on horses and animals since they had more capability in war, so as they came riding their horses the king announced their arrival through a speaker with a condescending tone "THIS IS THE THIRD KING OF THE SAMAR KINGDOM, I HAVE ENTERED THIS CITY WITH THE INTENTION OF CONQUERING IT AND ANY WHO SHALL STAND BEFORE ME SHALL DIE, ALL WHO SURRENDERS SHALL BE TAKEN CAPTIVE BUT WILL NOT BE HARMED. AS FOR THE COMBATANTS ALL OF YOU SHALL DIE WITH NO ONE SPARED SO FIGHT ALL YOU WANT FOR THIS CITY SHALL BECOME YOUR GRAVEYARD!" and then marched forward wreaking havoc.
meanwhile, the soldiers who were busy trying to put out the fire were alarmed by this announcement as one of them named Jonas said "I don't know where our commanders have gone nor do I know where our city lord is, they might have fled or have been killed but none of that matters because as long as we are unorganized and scattered we stand no chance at winning or surviving so we have to unite and stand as one front" while another soldier motivated by his fellow comrade said "those of you who want to live take up your arms and come along with us to defend our city this is Rave the border city if it falls the kingdom falls so fight not for yourselves but fight for your country FIGHT FOR YOUR PEOPLE!" they all cheered after hearing his words and steeled themselves, seeing them all riled up Jonas led them to the enemy and engaged them in a deadly fight.
as the soldiers headed in the direction of fighting the king's army which was started killing all who didn't surrender and took captive all who did, taking them by surprise suddenly a horde of soldiers came running towards the army, when they did the king saw as his soldiers began to lose formation and started giving them clear instructions and brought them back to their senses, even though the surprise attack was brief they still managed to kill a large number of the enemy which made them falter. that was when the mercenary joined the attack as they helped the soldiers regroup and fight off the enemy. they used guns to force the enemies to back off so they could regain their momentum, and that worked as the enemies retreated behind the surrounding buildings, seeing an opportunity the king threw a bomb in the surrounding buildings and destroyed every place they could hide behind. as the buildings got blown screams could be heard they were the screams of the soldiers burning to death but also innocent bystanders who were hiding from the fighting and bodies were sent flying as the blood covered the beautiful full moon.
Jonas who was hiding in one of the buildings saw as his teammates burned in front of him he was powerless against the armory of the enemy all they had was melee weapons and some guns they couldn't compete against them, all their weapons were in the storage which was burned off. he gathered the survivors which were few and sneaked away in an attempt to flee the building unnoticed but to their surprise Mohamed was blocking the exit.

returning a few minutes earlier, the king signaled the army including the mercenary groups to go and block any possible routes where the enemy could escape to and kill any survivors, Khalid sent Mohamed to the building that Jonas was in and warned him to be cautious and not underestimate the enemy. Mohamed nodded in agreement and went to his allocated building only to spot a group trying to sneak away quietly through the back entrance.
as Jonas met Mohamed's eyes his heart sank in despair as they were all injured and tired while he had burns all over his body with his left hand cut off by a piece of a building that fell on him earlier. he looked at Mohamed with a terrified look it was as if he was pleading to be spared. Mohamed took out his gun and aimed it at them but Jonas spoke and said "please spare them they are new recruits they have never went to war they aren't much of a threat to you and your army, we have no ammo and are injured and exhausted" he said with a pleading look as Mohamed replied "It doesn't matter whether they are young, old, veteran or not they all new what they signed up to, they are just unlucky to have come here at this moment." he turned his look at them and said "you must think this isn't fair and why should it be you why wasn't it someone else but sadly the world isn't a fair place it is cruel and unforgiving if you wanna blame someone then blame the world and yourselves for being weak" he then pulled the trigger and killed them all as he looked at them fall helplessly with despaired looks he then turned his eyes to Jonas and said "any last words?" in an attempt to kill Mohamed he took a knife from his pocket and jumped at him with a face that could tell that this was his end as he thought 'if i am destined to die then i'll at least take him with me' while a tear went down his face.
Mohamed jumped back to avoid his attack and shoot him in his head taking his life out, as he watched his eyes flicker out and the soul being taken out of them he thought 'I wonder if there is someone who takes our souls when we die, because every person i see dying looks like something is being taken out of him.' he pondered as the body in front of him fell down to his knees. after a minute he went inside the building to confirm that everyone is dead before returning to the army.
after a rough night of killing and fighting, the king and the army have finally succeeded in taking over the city, they proceeded to plunder their riches and wealth along with their properties. then the king settled in the lord's mansion which was at the center and was the biggest one, while Khalid and his group were given the buildings of the commanders to rest in.
they then spent the night celebrating their victory until midnight after that almost all of them passed out while the rest slept until the next day. as the sun came up the sound of an alarm rang which woke everyone up. it was the sound of the attack warning which made them all gear up and head to the gates to check the situation. as the king went on the city walls he saw a figure outside with an army behind that figure. it appeared to be a tall, skinny man with long white hair.
the king recognized him as the seventh prince and immediately tensed up and braced himself for what was to come but he wondered 'I knew he was gonna come but this is too soon I thought we dealt with everything cleanly could there be a mole or a traitor? but now isn't the time I first have to deal with this!'. signaling his army to come behind him he opened the gates to confront the seventh prince.
as he walked out to meet him the tension could be felt in the air as they locked eyes with each other. the area outside the city was barren and filled with sand. they both were riding the finest horses befitting royalty. the king had a black horse with strong legs which was the fastest and strongest in all of Samar kingdom, while the seventh prince rode a beautiful white horse that rivaled its speed.
the seventh prince smirked as he signaled his army with his hand, the king immediately reacted as he ordered a defensive formation to counter them should they attack. seeing the king flustered and tense the seventh prince let out a psychotic laugh and signaled again which made the king confused and angry. after the second signal a group of the prince's army marched forward which made the king question his motives.
