Buried deep underneath the rocks and dirt
A prize lay dormant until the time comes
An oasis hiding in the desert
A diamond hidden away in the slums
Waiting for one's grasp, a sword in a stone
Seen in the world, thought only as common
Seen as cliché, something old and shown
Existing and then to be forgotten
We may not recognize it here and now
Searching for the treasure found in a book
A valuable most will disavow
A talent people tend to over look
A preciousness held that has no measure
That highly sought out unfounded treasure
Many stumble on it, but walk away
Most would steal it and suffer through shame
Many question it, only to delay
Most would use it, exclusively for fame
Some search their entire life to the end
Most toss it aside finding the thought droll
Some take through betrayal, ending condemned
Most destroy others, seeking out control
Few sieve through the sands of the hourglass
Most see the surface if to the illusion
Few see past what has been deemed underclass
Most get lost on the route in confusion
All who search will find a destination
All will be found through determination
Living not noticed, passed by every day
Seem for only what the people see
Acted upon from the words people say
Ignoring the vast possibility
Instance indulgence, refusing to wait
Fools rush in where the angels fear to tread
Caring for the gold that it can inflate
Yet in the end, poverty is the dread
When the shine dulls, it will be tossed aside
One that is deemed no longer of good use
Left alone, true worth unidentified
Abandoned, left to live as a recluse
Now only seen as decrepit and old
Waiting to tell the tale that's left untold
We must dig past our rubble of doubt
Move past the entrance where the walls crumble
Avoiding the traps laid across our route
Steady footing, trying not to stumble
Pass the tests that force us to show our strength
Create the influence sharing smiles
Show you are willing to go to any length
Advancing beyond life's given trials
Into the heart, where one of a kind sits
Laying within one's own reality
Obtained only through a life one admits
Looking past others immorality
Searching within, those of patience will find
The treasure we seek, our own peace of mind
