Charlotte

They were cold, wet, an… and they were dead.. I looked around, tears streamed down my face. I couldn't breathe, my chest constricted, I was panicking.

Usually, when this happened I would breathe and tell myself that nothing was wrong. But everything was wrong, as I held their cold, lifeless bodies I couldn’t breathe.

How did this happen, I thought as I felt the space around me go black.

Ollie

“Dude, leave the bodies alone!” I shouted as I continued rummaging through the debris.

“Sorry, Hey! Ollie, there's someone over there!” Levi screamed

Levi started sprinting towards the figures.

“Wait up!” I yelled getting down from the ship's remains and tripped. “Oh, shit!” I yelled as I got up.

I stood up to find a human hand. To respect the corpse I placed the hand back next to the body. It was a female, pretty, peaceful and dead. My heart stopped, did her eyelids just flutter.  “FUCK”

I should just walk away and leave her, it’s more simple. Besides I need to find Levi, who is nowhere to be found. I took a step forward, I couldn’t leave her. I took a shaky step towards her and as respectfully as possible pulled her from the wreckage. I saw her hands leave two very obviously dead bodies.

“Are those her parents?” I thought to myself as I turned my attention back to her.

Levi

I jumped for the wreckage and started sprinting towards the figures. I heard Ollie yell something but I couldn’t understand him and I couldn’t go back to ask. There was someone here. After 2 days alone on this island with nobody but Ollie there needed to be someone else. I felt the burning sun on my neck, and the sweat dripping down my face. As I finally reached where I saw them I looked around and saw no one. But, I did see footprints, I attempted to walk towards them but I couldn’t move. I looked down to see a spikey vine slowly wind up my legs. I tried moving again but this time it was like I was in cement. Panic set in, I remember seeing them on my way here but hadn’t given much thought. “HELP!, ANYBODY PLEASE”

I was now at my chest and starting to constrict. I could barely move and my body had gone numb. The plant's thorns had pierced my skin, it was somehow sucking my blood and energy. It reached my throat and I collapsed, the darkness surrounding me.

Ollie

“Ok, what do I do, what do I do, what I do,” I asked as I paced next to the girl

“What do I do? Ok, I can’t get distracted. C’mon Ollie think, think!”

“Let’s see, she is breathing which is good. Oh! I need to get her warm or something, right?” I can’t second myself right now I thought. I grabbed a blanket from a nearby suitcase and wrapped it around the girl. Do I need to build a fire or something? Wait, I am literally sweating, it’s like 100 degrees outside.  “Ok, you are soaking wet. I’m really sorry but I need to get your sweater  off of you” I said talking to myself “I know you can’t hear me right now but talking is making this a lot less weird for me”

“This is so surreal, I can’t believe this is happening” I have told this to  myself so many times I don’t think they qualify as words anymore.

I finally reached the beach I laid on the sand. After some time I sat up and looked around at my surroundings. From what I can tell there isn’t anyone around. Now that the shock has worn off my whole body hurts. I looked around once more before I took all my clothes off, keeping my bra and underwear on. I take my clothes to the sea and rinse all of the dirt and sand from them, and lay them to dry. I go back to the sea and rinse, dry, and braid my incredibly thick brown hair.

“Now the hard part, surviving,” I shouted out loud

Charlotte

I woke up in broad daylight, well more like  I opened my eyes to broad daylight. I tried to sit up but it felt like I had done the world's longest workout. My entire body was so sore, I felt like throwing up. I heard shuffling behind me.

“YES! oh, thank god!” Somebody yelled, I flinched so hard “Oh I’m sorry, I’m just so excited. You actually woke up!”

“Huh?” My voice was raspy but worked “Huh?” I said a second time. Why won’t this guy answer me, and why is he looking at me like that?

“Oh, right! Sorry, so my name is Oliver Colbert Williams. But you can call me Ollie, Ummm... I found you in some wreckage on the beach. You were like half dead, but I warmed you and then you woke up. But what’s most important is that you aren’t dead. Everything else is a miracle!”

“Ok,” I said, totally caught off guard. I took a deep breath. “Ollie, have you seen two older adults, a female, and a male.” I took a deep breath again “Ollie?” I didn’t like the look on his face, it was a mix of regret and despair. He wasn’t talking, a ball formed in the back of my throat.

“I’m sorry”, he pointed to two bodies with blankets over them. “I’ve tried to respect them as much as I could.

“Can we please get away from here”

“Yeah, sure. I need to find Levi anyway” I cocked my head “He’s a friend of sorts” I just nodded my head. I tried to get up and almost fell right back on my butt.

“You can’t walk can you?” Ollie asked, I just nodded again. This time embarrassed. “That’s ok, I can just carry you!” He smiled

Phoebe

“Raymond!” I yelled.

“Yeah! What’s up?” He asked as he made his way away from the wreckage.

“What are we doing? There’s nothing here, like literally nothing but corpses and broken wood. Besides, if there was something here we would have found it when we started looking 2 hours ago.” I sighed. I wasn’t trying to be a brat but I was hungry and tired.

“I want to be thorough, if I am correct there was definitely some on here”

“What, why do you think that and why didn’t you tell me right away?”  I was hungry and tired but I had a tinge of hope.

“You see that jacket?” He pointed to a light pink jacket

“Ummm… yeah? It was probably in a suitcase before we crashed and sunk” What is he getting at?

“First I’m not crazy, I’m a trained investigator. And Second, that jacket isn’t wet”

“Ok, you are crazy. It just washed up on the beach and dried out” I said trying to keep my annoyance out of my voice.

“No, someone placed that there. Oh, something you can’t deny.” He pointed to two six feet long mounds of sand. My excitement shot up, with a single point of a finger I knew we couldn’t be alone.

“YES!!” I screamed louder than I should have

“Easy, I know you are excited but those are dead bodies. A lot of people died including those two,” He scolded.

“What do we do now?” I asked.

“Now we walk until we find someone,” He replied calmly, that was not the answer that I wanted.
