On the day Long Youfu turned 4 Feng Youfu hosted a huge birthday party.
Turning 4 was a big deal in this world because that is when they're guardians would teach them how to sense martial energy and get stronger, this was one of the biggest turning points for anyone in their life.
There were tens of thousands of people outside for his birthday but he chose not be there. Long Youfu was very brave and definitely not scared of a crowd, but he was immersed in a book.
The book was memoir of a genius ancestor of the Youfu family. As he read he learned of alchemists, martial smiths, rune masters and martial formations. He learned that the Azurite Kingdom was just a very tiny occupant in what was a bigger world, Wushu continent.
"Little brother Long what are you doing here? You should be outside celebrating." A very charming boy came into the room. "The party is boring brother Jian Chen." Replied Long Youfu.
"Sigh, they are guests you should probably give them some face if you want them to like the Youfu family in the future." Sighed Jian Chen.
Suddenly a thought came into Jian Chen's mind "Brother have you broken through?" Asked Long Youfu.
"Hehheh, of course i broke through." Said Jian Chen only half boastingly. He was a humble person but no one is really humble when it comes to martial arts. Over the last few years he broke through at a fenominal rate, all the way to the 5th stage. They said he would probably be able to beat every single supreme elder in his family even if they came at him together by the time he was 20 on his martial strength alone.
And on top of that he was a sword genius. Jian Chen was currently eight years old but he had already mastered some sword intent. Most people would probably not be able to master that much even in four decades of their lives.
"Come on, come with me you don't want to miss dinner do you?" It was an excuse for something else but Long Youfu did'nt know that. The thought of missing dinner got him to get up and agree.
While they were walking a lot of people bowed towards them. It was a way for them to acknowledge the two monster geniuses.
When they stopped walking there were in one of the many larger courtyards of the Youfu family estate.
Long Youfu saw the king, his father, his mother, his sister, Biyu Chen and one other person. The other person was wearing green robes and had a circular fan in his hand. The circular fan did not match his robes at all. It was a special dark black with gold colored carvings in it probably runes Long Youfu thought.
The book of one of the Youfu family ancestor's book showed some runes but Long Youfu had not seen runes like these before.
The man had a very VERY noble aura around him like his nobility was a solid and you could touch it, and the fan only intensified the feeling.
Before Long Youfu could examine any further his mother, Xia Hua said "Long Youfu, your father and I have someone we would like you to meet.". No doubt talking about the man in green robes.
"This is Ri Chu. We know how zealous you are about learning things so we found a scholar to teach you." My mom further explaining while pointing to Ri Chu. "Greeting young master." He said.
Long Youfu was not a very courteous person yet the man's aura was so strong it was like the man, Ri Chu was his lord and he could only obey. He bowed. Everyone found it odd that Long Youfu had bowed but Ri Chu contemplated in his head about Long Youfu's future.
"However, we have one important rule. You must not fall behind in your martial arts." Everyone nodded in unison, they all believed that martial arts was the only right choice for any sane person.
This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.
Long Youfu nodded back. He knew that this was a hard decision for them. After some more courtesy and some goodbyes Ri Chu opened his mouth.
"The young master has turned four today. For now, he should begin his martial path." He turned to me "You will be my student and I your master we shall start first thing tomorrow.". "Yes master." Again shock from my parents. Ri Chu and my mother left the courtyard.
My father gestured me to sit. "We have a lot cover you should relax."
"First lets start with Wushu continent. Wushu continent is where the Azurite Kingdom is located. There are legends of other worlds but no one has been strong enough to prove such a feat. The Wushu continent is vast and diverse in our continent there is one supreme kingdom, which rules over all other kingdoms and then 12 top kingdoms and 20000 middle kingdoms and an unofficial amount of much smaller kingdoms. " He took a long breath, this was going to be a lot for four year old.
"The Azurite kingdom is merely a small kingdom but unlike many others we have many middle kingdoms backing us. So we are not as defenseless as other small kingdoms."
"Now on to the basics martial cultivation. There are 4 realms in our world which are each divided into 12 stages. The first, the Neophyte stage. Right now me and the king are only at the 12th stage of the Neophyte stage. However there are a lot of supreme elders in our family's that are at the 2nd realm. The 2nd realm is the Inceptor stage." Most supreme elders had lived for a long time Long Youfu had already known that some of them were stronger than his father.
"The 3rd is the stage of Aspirans, this stage is rather unique. Once someone reaches this realm they feel themselves connecting to a higher power that feels like it's power could destroy the entire world. Finally, there is the Novicious realm in this realm you start to feel ever closer to that power yet still not able to reach but some of the very gifted can draw upon the a little power from the other side once they reach this stage." His eyes were full of reverence.
"The Novicous realm is not the end of the martial path, in fact there is no end for the martial path." Reverence again.
"Do not discuss with anyone what is beyond that realm because not even the king of the supreme kingdom would be able that answer that question."
"Now something more simple, weapons. There are a myriad of weapons. There a lot of weapon families such as the sword, the saber and the hammer. However there are many more. There are even some which are completely unique." When my father said the word unique there was a special shine in his eyes.
"Sigh, I have to tell you something." He said solemnly. "On the day you were born we realized you were talent not only because of the heavenly sign but also because you had already a grasp on the martial path." My eyes widened.
"And then at the talent aptitude test when you had turned one years old you had shown us something even greater you had absorbed the power from the runes causing them to completely fade." I had heard the story before and always thought there was something wrong with it but now I know what.
"There is legend for this, it is a talent called martial inclined." My father hadn't explained talents to me but probably only because he knew I already knew what they were. Talent is a very broad spectrum. It is from something as small as aptitude to something like what my dad was telling me, about some "martial inclined". Jian Chen is a sword talent which is a very rare talent among small kingdoms.
"The legend says that the person who was martially inclined had an aptitude of level 1. But even with such an aptitude by the time he was 200 it is said in the legend that he went beyond the Novicious realm. However this could just be someone telling a tall tale but no one ever really knows." My father was being very serious.
"We don't know if it is real but it would put you in danger any way you think about it. Don't let anyone know of this okay.". I was honestly a little speechless but I still answered with a "Yes.".
"Okay so lets talk about something more fun then martial techniques. There is a very broad spectrum of martial techniques it goes from, how to flick your finger to all the way to how you fight. For most techniques there is usually at least one fatal flaw which could be exploited at any moment in a fight." I have no idea why but when my father said fight I felt goosebumps all over my body.
"It is crucial to learn to misdirect your opponent from realizing the flaw and to recognize these flaws in other peoples martial techniques as well." My father had wicked smile on his face all of a sudden. He reached for his storage ring.
He brought a couple thousand weapons out of it. I knew there were some storage rings could hold a lot but this was insane.
"This is nothing there a storage rings that can hold trillions of times more than this one." I was shocked again to learn of such things all in one night I thought maybe this wasn't even real maybe I was dreaming. But reality kicked in, the air, the cold wind, my father, all of my surroundings it was like I was seeing this beautiful estate for the first time.
It felt like I was seeing the world for the first time.
