Chapter 38
~ Clash! Kail versus Hathor! II ~
SW/SW/SW
Kail placed a hand on his wounded chest, from which stream of blood leaked.
It hurt.
It hurt.
What was the deal with that axe?
He activated his voice command for Bloody Ka’Fa Roth’s information. Unfortunately, there was no information about it, much to his annoyance. Damn it; where was the internet when he needed it the most?
What should he do now? Running away? But where? How? In the state he was in, was he capable of leading a normal life? He was trapped in this game forever as a monster, a final boss no less!
However, if he fought back and killed that succubus… what would happen to the world of GeaOnline? As far as he knew, the developer had a total control of the game. If they noticed that Hathor was missing, it would be effortless for them to find out the truth. If that happened, then…
He’d be formatted…
…or worse, deleted permanently…
Kail flinched at the pain on his chest. This armor was supposedly had enough defense and stopping power, yet it was helpless before a mere axe. It was terribly hurt when she slashed him. It was different from the wounds Wawan and co. had inflicted on him. This one… this one was much, much worse.
Uneasiness crept inside him. Earlier, three popup windows appeared, all informing the same thing. Quickly he opened his basic status screen to see his HP bar moving steadily towards zero.
Hastily he casted [Dispel] and the bleeding slowly stopped. To bring his HP bar to maximum, he casted [Magna Healia], an advance healing spell. The gash gradually healed, but seeing how powerful the axe was, the attack was very likely to leave a scar there.
If it was bruises or cuts, he didn’t mind. But this… this wasn’t a normal wound. He didn’t want to experience this kind of hurt ever again…
If only he knew that everything would turn out like this, he should’ve used that spell [Twisted Verdict] to lower Hathor’s parameters! As much as he was tempted to, he just couldn’t ignore the suspicious AoE word. Until he could figure it out, he’d refrain himself from using it.
Kail jumped to his right and rolled on the ground like some sort of a hero on TV, before a violent crash almost slashed him into two. Of course it was Hathor. She stood on the edge of her great axe’s handle. The blade was impaled deep in the cold, stone ground.
“You have a good reflex, imposter. I dare say it was just luck,” she sneered, half-praising half-insulting. “And you are running out of it,” she said, jumping to the ground. Her breasts bounced when she landed.
“Tell me where the real king is and I will let you go.”
Kail held the urge to laugh. That was impossible.
“…Between His Majesty and her, the real demon is her!”
“…forget her. She isn’t someone you’d mess around with.”
Those were sourced from one of her citizens. Of course with the descriptions so awful, who would believe in everything Hathor said? She’d probably tortured him to death should he give himself up.
Oh well, even if he escaped, he’d probably die sooner or later in the hands of other players. Between the players and a succubus, he’d choose the former. At least, they didn’t have any bad intention. On the other hand, Hathor… looked exactly like someone who loved to prolong the torture.
I don’t want to die…
The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.
…I don’t want to die…
Hathor leaped with just one step. Determined to make it out alive, Kail wouldn’t let himself be defeated and spammed multiple [Darkness Ball]. As expected of her, she swiftly evaded them with an agility of that of a monkey. Other balls of magic he casted were then slashed and exploded, creating some kind of epic scenery behind her as she travelled in the air.
“Useless! Useless! Useless!” she screamed, swinging the axe to counterattack Kail’s spells.
She gasped when Kail disappeared, not knowing that he had casted [Warp] and appeared behind her.
Hathor turned around too late to retaliate and her cheek had fallen into a victim of Kail’s powerful punch. The succubus crashed into the solid, rock wall, and buried beneath the rubble.
Kail sneered. Served her right.
…the sneer vanished.
After hearing a weird ‘creak’ sound, his stomach felt… cold…
…and wet.
Looking down, Kail’s vision was met with black, metallic pipe-like thing. It pierced his abdomen right in the middle.
There is something poking out of my stomach…
…how strange… here he had a thought that the heavy armor was impenetrable…
It didn’t make sense…
Blood seeping out.
Kail let out a blood-curdling scream.
Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt.
It hurt!!!!!
It hurt….!!!!!
Get it out!! Get it out!! Get it out!! Get it out!! Get it out!!
PULL IT OUT!!!! GET IT OUT ….!!!!!
Hathor broke free from the rubble she had been buried in. A small stream of blood came down from her forehead.
Several minutes later, reinforcement appeared. Heavy armored soldiers marched towards the succubus. One of them, looking like the captain, rushed forward, “Your Majesty!”
“All of you, get that imposter!” Hathor shouted her order.
With trembling hands, Kail pulled the pipe out, not knowing that it would worsen his wound. Blood burst from the hole, drenching the ground in red, thick liquid. His pupils dilated as untold pain begun assaulting his body.
It hurt! It hurt! It hurt! It hurt! It hurt! It hurt! It hurt! It hurt! It hurt! It hurt! It hurt! It hurt!
IT HURT!!!!!
I don’t want to die…
I want to live…!
“I will live!!!” Kail screamed as he charged at Hathor. Having been consumed in madness, he couldn’t see anything but her. He wanted to skin her alive, pour hot water on her body, and rape her until she was completely broken.
He moved as if he was possessed, without regard of his health anymore. Every attack was perfectly delivered, with speed that couldn’t even be seen by trained eyes—the madness drove him to a berserk state.
If I was destined to die in this game, then I’ll bring you along with me!!!
Without slight hesitation, Kail casted different spell at once, incinerating everything in his path. The soldiers were either burned to death or turned to cinder.
Kail couldn’t see sense. He couldn’t tell what was wrong and what was right anymore. All he cared about was to lay waste to everything that was within his sight. He wanted to destroy, to plunder, to rape, to kill—his mind was utterly consumed with madness as he danced, spilling blood and fresh mutilated body parts around his feet.
A straight line appeared in the middle of his helmet, in which his mouth should be. As it grew wider, the line expanded vertically, creating a mouth, with freakishly sharp fangs and animalistic saliva. The ‘mouth’ made him looked like some sort of unholy, psychopathic demon more than anything.
“Stop this!” Hathor’s scream didn’t even manage to bring him to his former, calm self. Her attacks were easily parried, every move was predicted. Kail even managed to slam Hathor to the cold ground, still consumed with madness.
Kail then coughed, feeling his control over his right arm disappeared.
Looking aside, he saw his shoulder bursting out blood, like some sort of a broken faucet. He let out a pained howl, allowing Hathor to escape from his clutch.
“You… die…” he muttered under his breath and snarled, “…you’ll die… you’ll pay for this… you women, all of you are scum!!”
Kail didn’t even know what he was doing anymore. He jumped and hovered in the air. Around him, multitude of red runes materialized out of nowhere. All of them were aligned to different direction, vary in size. They shone brightly, like blood under the sun.
Hathor gasped, her red eyes were filled with despair, “Oh, no! That’s…!”
[Sigil of Despair].
At once the runes fired black beam of energy. The runes rotated, bringing along the beam with them, spraying the vicinity in rays of death. The wall, which was unfortunate enough to get hit, was corroded as if the spell had an acidic property.
Kail landed on his feet, mind finally cleared from madness. Due to extreme pain, he dropped on his knee, clutching his severed arm tightly to keep him conscious. It took him quite a while to gather his power and looked around.
The top floor was obliterated. His spell reduced everything to rubble and Hathor was nowhere to be seen.
He gritted his teeth. He had done it. He killed her.
He killed her.
…and he had to figure out a plan to escape the all-seeing developer.
As he was seriously thinking of a plan, little did Kail knew that Hathor was alive, buried under the rubble on his right. With the last of her power, she controlled her axe and swung it full force against Kail’s head…
SLAASH!!!!
0000
Nia took a sharp breath and looked at a direction frantically. She heard her brother screaming her name somewhere. Realizing that it was just her imagination running wild, she sighed and back to staring outside the window, waiting for somebody to come home.
Behind her, the television was set to a news channel. It had Kail’s identity on it, labeled as ‘missing person’.
