Chapter 3
[Due to your class you have now 5 ability points, where do you wish to put them?]
[Boxes are heavy… put them in all strength]
[5 points will now be invested into strength]
[Thank you voice lady]
It was at this point I finally realized I have been speaking to someone who was not there. Thinking back to what happened the voice sounded familiar to the one I heard before but I should be working out right now…
Now I noticed that my face was in dirt and as no longer asleep just had my eyes closed. Another thing was there was the sound of some type of low chant getting slowly louder. That had to be the reason for me waking up and with the taste of dirt in my mouth in was now time to get up.
Getting on my knees and wiping away the dirt out of my eyes I noticed that the sun was only just beginning to rise. The people making the noise was nearly two dozen singing almost to themselves in perfect harmony. The wore orange robes that had a striking resemblance to Buddhist monks.
“Jeez look at myself”
Even though I felt fine my shirt was drenched in sweat making the dry dirt next to the church stick even more. But there was something else I noticed and it was that my shirt was loose. Gripping my stomach with both hands I noticed that while my belly was still there it seemed less.
“It seems there here like the guard captain said… by the goddess Jake are you alright!”
Hela noticed my condition after walking out onto the orange robed men.
“I look worse then I feel, in fact there seems to be nothing wrong with me. Something did happen though, after we last saw each other I started to feel worse and worse until I seemed to have passed out right here. Then I heard a voice about an unknown class and points”
Hela but her hands together and slightly bowed her head while praying for a moment.
“Jake this is wonderful news! The goddess has seen fit finally to bless you with a class. While not knowing what your class is is something I have never heard or this ‘rarity’ what you experienced is completely normal. You really must not have any common sense ever since your accident”
“Ha-ha yep, your constant help is my salvation”
There was no way I was going to say I am from another world so the idea of hitting my head and forgetting everything seemed to best choice. In fact, it had gone over so well I was worried how easily criminals could sneak in to town. Another thing was it seemed my class should be visible but it’s not leaving more questions.
“Anyway, Hela who are those people over there”
“I was told they are the monks from the Hailong Empire across the great sea. They seem odd and since they follow a false god I recommend Jake you stay away from them”
“Because it’s not your god?”
“There is only one true God”
[The God of Healing hopes you follow Hela words]

Hey hey Hela you were just proven wrong twice over with these messages I only seem to be able to see. This happened right before I fell down also so there is no way I am imagining this. But my mouth will stay silent on this topic because telling her this would most likely break her mind and get me killed.
“Un ya Hela, down with the false Gods. Anyway, I should go to docks to pay the church back my debt”
“Yes, have a blessed day Jake”
Hela waved me off as the walk to the docks commenced while wiping down my shirt. To my right was the line of monks still going on they seemed focused just on themselves and I paid them no mind.
“What in the world is that…”
While trying to air out my shirt I noticed a marking that was not there before so I pulled my shirt down as far as I could to get a better look. To my huge surprise there was now a tattoo directly above my chest that looked like two slightly opened hands praying. Around them was a thin circle and they both were dyed in the color yellow.
“This must to related to those messages” I mumbled to myself
As I was standing there looking at my chest my focus was completely on that until the sound of someone almost tripping on something caught my ears. One of the monks was staring completely at me with huge eyes. At first, I was worried he was able to see down my shirt but then I noticed he was not looking at my chest but my right arm.
To my complete surprise there was a second symbol on my bicep, this one was dyed red and had a circle around it just like the other. The difference was inside the circle was an outline of a man pushing a stone up a hill. The monk tried to call out to me but I covered my arm and quickly walked away from them.
“Jake what are you doing here, I thought you told me that you wanted to spend the morning being an adventure?”
“My sword broke so to repair it I need money”
A complete lie. I was scared to be taken away by the monks and since I can’t beat a single rabbit being around people should boost my chances of staying alive.
“… I don’t care, go help Dormir move that cargo. He’s giving my business a bad name if he struggles that much moving the smallest box possible”
Giving him, my signature thumbs up in emulation of Agent Dale Cooper I made my way over to Dormir. By the way while moving across town I noticed my speed did not increase.
“Jake… what are… you doing…”
“Here? Well lets just say I had the sudden urge to help you”
Dormir’s arm were shaking like there was an earthquake so I made rush to rush over and put my arms under the box. Instantly he had a sigh of relief and thus began our day. As the hours went pay I made sure to constantly look around but never saw that monk who noticed my marks or any of the others for the rest of the day.
“Yes it finally happened!”
Dormir shouted and letting go of the box we were both carrying causing me to barely get it to the area it needed to be dropped off at.
“What was so important Dormir my feet were nearly crushed!”
Hearing that he looked embarrassed and quickly tried to explain himself.
“Well you see I just got an endurance point, you know what that means? Of course, you do. After a week I got one so it feels pretty good”
“Adventures most likely could get more”
“But being an adventure is pretty hard, look at yourself for an example. So even if its slowly its safe and that’s what matters to me”
Ouch Dormir why did you go for that kill shot?
“Okay you made some good points let’s get back to it”
For the rest of the day there were no more talks of adventures but due to my huge jump in strength and even Dormir’s slight increase in endurance more boxes were moved by us and that meant more money.
The walk back to the church was tense but ultimately uneventful still I ate inside the church and had someone else bring my bowl back to Hela. Slowly but surely my debt was growing slower. In two weeks’ time at this rate I can start saving money for better equipment and whatever I will need to fish shrimp.
