The smooth blade reflected the sunlight in all its glory. The black leather handle was held by a gloved, brown hand. The person handling the sword was ready to bring it down on the enemy.
There was a swooshing sound and steel found meat, burring deep into the creature. It gave out a loud roar, announcing it's painful demise.
Victoriously, the knight punched into the air. The excitement was palpable. "Yes! I finally did this shit!" Cried out the knight triumphantly. This was the moment he had won, and he was getting drunk with the feeling of victory.
"Hey. Don. Don. wake up please." said a voice, breaking the immersion of Don. Opening his eyes, he looked at the person who had interrupted his fun dream. 'Bastard.' thought Don angrily.
"Hey Don, sorry to wake you up. Just had to tell you it's ten already and it's your job to prepare breakfast, so yeah." Will, the playboy looking blond ordered in a friendly way. Don looked at him for a few moments, before replying, "Yeah, sure, ok, please get out."
"Uhh, yeah, good luck I guess," Will said as he went out of the room, closing the door behind him.
Don laid in for a few more moments, staring at the bleak ceiling of his bedroom before getting up from the bed. He dressed up with a white t-shirt and a pair of shorts and got out of the room.
He went through the corridor of the apartment and into the kitchen which was right next to the living room. Scanning the room, he couldn't help but sigh.
"It's my fucking turn.." Don mumbled under his breath as he got to work to fix some food.
Opening the fridge, Don took out the eggs and sausages. After ten minutes, the omelet was ready, and Don put half on one plate and the other on a second plate.
He took the second plate and gave it to Will. "Thanks, man." Said Will as he took the plate from the entrance of his room. But before Don managed to get back to his own room, Will called him from behind. "By the way, you have that exam today right? Good luck." "Yeah, thanks. I will need it."
Closing the door of the bedroom behind him, Don put the plate on his computer desk near the keyboard and sat down, finding a random video to enjoy while eating.
After several minutes, Don decided to go to the restroom. He got up from the chair, absentmindedly thinking about all the equations he needs memorized from last night, and made his way to the door.
Just when he opened the door, there was a click. It was a click of something opening, but it was surely not a door. It was something else. Something incomprehensible for the current Don.

Suddenly, Don found himself in a forest. Birds were chirping in the distance, there was mud and grass all over the ground, fairly tall trees were standing gloriously, like the dormant force of nature they are. There were a few groups of ants going around on the ground as well, Don noticed. The sun was shining down on everything from Don's right, casting a long shadow over most of the undergrowth.
The place looked like a normal forest.
Don panicked. This wasn't supposed to happen. He just opened a door, not a portal. It couldn't be.
'Maybe I blacked out? Nah, no fucking way. I'm standing, not lying on the floor.' Don considered. Looking down at his indoor outfit, he could see there were no stain marks, the shirt and shorts were completely clean. It was as if he didn't get out of his house. 'Shit.. what happened?' Don cringed.
It hurt quite a bit standing on the ground since he didn't wear any shoes.
He looked around, trying to get his head around the fact he was sent to a forest. Through all the bushes, long grass, and trees he found a large smooth looking boulder. "Perfect."
Cautiously, Don paved the safest way to get there without scratching his feet too much.
After a minute or two of slow walking, Don reached his destination. He sat down on the smooth, mostly even surface of the boulder and looked around him.
'Well, I'm in a forest, that's for sure…' Don reaffirmed his surroundings. The sun appeared to be high up in the sky, indicating that it was probably noon.
"How the fuck did I get here?" Don asked himself the question that plagued his mind since he got there.
There was no reasonable explanation, and there was no one around to explain what happened either. This was Don's reality, and he would have to accept this.
"This is so bullshit!" he whined like a little kid as he spit on the ground next to him. "Well, at least I don't have to do the fucking exam at the end huh…" he sighed, getting on his feet, standing on the boulder.
"Ahhh… alright… I need to get a stable source of water I guess. Also, I really need to pee. Fucking hell.." Don sighed once again.
There was nothing to delay. He could either stand there thinking about all that has happened, or he could do something productive for his survival. This was inconvenient, but he had no choice.
Taking a quick look around, Don found the perfect place to do his business in.
Getting down from the boulder, he painfully and slowly walked up to a nearby tree and relieved himself.
‘Alright, that feels good… my fucking legs..’ he thought as he pulled his shorts back up.
Don stood still in place for a few more moments, mind wandering. "Let's go.," he said in a tired way, sarcastically holding his fist up in the air before he started his trek in the forest.
He didn't know how much time had passed, but he could finally see water. A small pond in a clearing, the water reflecting the sunlight in a beautiful way. It was very clean as well, not green, not dark blue, but see-through, as all water should be.
As Don got closer, he could see little fish swimming in the pond. It was a beautiful place, that he, unfortunately, would have to drink from. Still, his own survival was at stake.
Dropping down on his knees, Don cupped his hands together in the water and brought a handful to his open mouth. Gulping it all down, Don was satisfied.
"Got clean water, that's good," he said in a relieved tone. He shouldn't worry about dying from dehydration in this place for the time being.
He looked up at the sky and saw that it was almost evening already. Good thing he ate just before this, or he would have been really hungry.
"Well… I guess that's this… I really should stop talking to myself, it's kinda weird. But no one is here, so I guess it doesn't really matter.." he said to himself in a half-amused tone. He did just argue with himself after all.
