E : I got called into a Testing Chamber today. They didn’t give any details other than I’d be interacting with a “Special SCP”. Got my hopes up thinking it’d be some really interesting Euclid or Keter SCP, turns out it was a Safe Class SCP named SCP 999. I’d heard of it before, but I’d never heard anything about it being contained at this Site. According to Site Director Klaus, they wanted SCP 999 to visit more Sites and meet different members of the Foundation, so one of the Sites they sent it to temporarily was our’s. Guess they wanted to see how SCP 999 and I interact with each other.

As SCP 999 was released its Relocation Chamber, basically a mid-sized box that relatively smaller SCPs can be safely transported within, it looked around curiously for a few seconds, before immediately locking onto the Site Director and practically attacking his legs with a “hug”. Honestly with how grouchy he can be, I’m not surprised he was SCP 999’s first target. It was making cute gurgling noises as it cuddled with the other Researchers. As for me, well…while I’m usually up for interacting with SCPs, I’m not a big fan of actual Physical Contact, so I was admittedly keeping my distance on the other side of the room, which seemed to amuse the other researchers almost as much as 999’s tickle attacks. Particularly Dr. Griffin, who was petting SCP 999’s head…or “head”. I guess a glob of slime doesn’t really have a Head. Dr. Griffin, with her sick sense of humor, suddenly set SCP 999 down and guided it directly towards me. SCP 999 approached me and clung to my leg, making me fall over onto my [REDACTED]. As SCP 999 crawled up my leg, I felt a sense of euphoria spread throughout my body, and as much as I hate to admit, I started to enjoy the little blob a bit. Although, despite it still making contact with me, those feelings started to dull. I was still happier than my “usual”, but not as much as before. This seemed to confuse both the other researchers and SCP 999 itself. After a moment, SCP 999 backed away, letting me stand up. At that point, the anomalous effects of SCP 999 seemed to largely vanish from me. I left the room, pretty annoyed at that little stunt Dr. Griffin pulled, and was eager to get back to my Work. However, as I made my way out, I realized that SCP 999 was still following me. And it’s still keeping close to me now. According to the document I was given, it has a tendency to follow around people who are generally moody or unhappy. Perfect for the “grumpy introvert”, huh. I’m not worried about it for now, though.

E : Well, SCP 999’s still been following me around. In fact, it seemed to get upset when I locked it out of my Office so I could sleep, and wouldn’t stop making noise until I let it back in, at which point it slept on top of me like I was a mattress. Admittedly, it gave me a more peaceful sleep than I’ve had in a long time, and having a 120lbs ball of semi-solid Slime laying on top of me was like a weighted blanket. It followed me around during my morning routine, and continued throughout the workday. I swear I heard the other Researchers gossipping about it. SCP 999 periodically cling to my leg or attempt to tickle me, seemingly trying to cheer me up a lot more than it was. Thankfully, my workload today wasn’t very intensive, so the little guy wasn’t exactly disruptive. It was mostly just reviewing some files, discussing some theories regarding some less complex SCPs, etc. Although, SCP 999 seemed to be interested when one of the Researchers offhandedly mentioned SCP 682. I heard the two of them had some kind of history, though it’s currently classified. I don’t even know much about SCP 682 in general, so that’s not very surprising. I’ve only heard it’s an extremely dangerous Keter-Class SCP.

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

Once the workday was done, I turned in for the night in my Room, though I ended up being caught up in one of my side-projects examining Safe-Class SCP Files. It ended up getting pretty late, and SCP 999 practically dragged me from my desk to my bed, seemingly not wanting me to stay up very late. Couldn’t really argue, so I figured I’d just go to bed and it’d be fine tomorrow. After all, SCP 999’s only planned to be here for three days, so he’ll be going to another Site tomorrow.

[Automatic Audio Recording from 9:17 AM]

(The sound of equipment falling over, and a faint sizzling noise)

E : MOTHER [REDACTED]! My freaking samples! They’re all over the stupid desk! I swear to- [Enigma went on a short rant in his foster language of Japanese, but the Device was unable to record what he said, currently not supporting non-english language]

999 : [SCP 999 made a gurgling noise similar to a whimper in the background]

E : O-oh, no no no, I’m not mad at you! I’m just…I’m just mad, y’know!

999 : [SCP 999 cooed and gurgled happily]

E : H-hey, that wasn’t an invitation for a tickle fight!

[At this point, Enigma realized the Logging Device was recording, and deactivated it]

E : After the Incident this morning, which resulted in my samples of SCP 173’s acidic excrement ruining my desk, and some of the research inside mind you, a cleanup crew came in and got rid of the desk. Luckily, at least 65% of my papers inside weren’t severely damaged, and some of the damaged papers were recoverable. Later that day, the whole Site got together and threw SCP 999 a small goodbye party. Nothing big, just everyone telling the little guy goodbye. Dr. Griffin gave him a small plush of himself that she knitted herself. SCP 999 seemed to really like it. I’m not much for festivities or goodbyes, but…admittedly I let SCP 999 keep a small clay model I made of SCP 914. And with one more goodbye hug, SCP 999 got into its Relocation Chamber and made the journey to the next Site. Hope he has as much fun there as he did here. In other news, the other Researchers have been interested in how SCP 999 didn’t seem to have as much of an effect on me as it does with others. They did some blood and Skin Cell tests, which were sent to a lab off-site, but for some reason the Results are being withheld. The reason given was they think the results were messed up because of some outside factor in the lab. Guess we’ll see when we see.
