Uh… Why is it always so cold in the morning?
“Trist, are you awake now?”
“Yes, sir I’m awake.”
“Good, now let's go .”
Right, today is the exam for the adventures guild.
“Sir, do I have to become an adventure?”
“I thought we talked about this already.”
Ya, I know someone like me can only become an adventurer.
Despite all I've done, this is the only path which can lead me to living a decent life.
“Remember I’ve taught you everything you need to know to survive as an adventure, the rest is up to you now.”
All I need to survive right that’s what you always say. How am I supposed to survive with hidden daggers? Everybody at the guild has learned to use spears, bows, staffs, and swords of different sizes. And, I’m supposed to survive with hidden daggers ya right.
As we approach the guild doors I can hear the many different people talking.
“Remember, the less you talk the longer you’ll live as adventure.”
That’s something he always says to keep me silent. As we approached the counter so I could register as an adventurer. I could hear the loud talking from before it started to die down to a whisper.
“We’re here to register him as an adventurer.”
The plain looking lady behind the counter looks me up and down.
“This boy?”
“Yes, today is his twelfth birthday so he can now register.”
The lady stared at me for a while.
“I see… Trist, do you want to become an adventurer?”
She looked at me waiting for an answer.
“Yes, miss.”
I can feel the gazes of the other people in the building looking at me. Their eyes are burning holes into my body.
The counter lady came back with a paper full of things that I had to fill in.
Name- Trist

“Now, just sign here Trist.”
“Congrats, you’re an adventure now.”
When I looked back to say goodbye to the caretaker that brought me here he was already gone.
“Look at what we have here, another abandoned kid left for us to look after.”
I felt saddened because I know that person is talking about me. Abandoned I guess that sounds about right.
“Don’t listen to that dreadful elf boy.”
Hmm.. who said that ?
How weird I swear I hear someone talking to me.
“Hey, Do you want to pick out a job?”
The lady at the counter is waving me over to pick a job to take on.
“Since this is your first time, do you want my help to pick a job for you?”
Well, if she is offering to help me pick a job I don’t see any harm in it. It’s probably her job to help the adventurers here.
“Yes, please.”
“Ok, I’m going to pick a job for you based on the paperwork you filled out.”
“Hmm.. this looks to be the best job for your first time.”
“ What is it?”
I wonder what she picked, hopefully not something too hard.
“Well, given everything you wrote down. Your first job is to scout the forest in a village two days from here for any monster activity and report back.”
That's all I have to do: scout the forest of a village, and report back. Nice, easy first job is going to be a piece of cake.
“Ok, I’ll be back as soon as possible.”
“Wait, young man, you're gonna need this.”
The old man behind the counter with the lady tossed me a sack of dry meat. I guess he doesn't want me to starve myself before I get there.
“Thanks, sir.”
I guess not everybody at the guild is as rude as that elf. I mean what crawled up her ass to be that rude.
Whatever looks like I'm in for a long walk ahead of me. Two days man, I hope this dry meat lasts that long .
8 Hours Later
Dang, I'm tired. The sun looks like it's getting low. I think I'm ready to set up a camp.
Hmm.. hm.. Get put some large sticks here and there and put my cloak over this, and I’m done with my perfect campsite. Well, it could be better, but it's just one night. If I have no choice to be an adventurer I might as well make the best of it.
Alright goodnight world, and here I come tomorrow.
6 Hours Later
“Ay, wake up, something is coming your way.”
Huh..who the heck was that?
“WHO’S THERE! HELLO !”
What the heck that sounded like the person at the guild. What did he say again?
I swear that sounded like that voice came from inside my head? What time is it?
Looks like the crack of dawn. I got to get moving so I can finish this job as fast as possible.
“Hmm… alright let's get moving.”
Lets see I should make it to the village by noon at this pace. Then I should set up camp, and scout the surrounding forest for any monster activity.
Should I do some night scouting as well ? That sounds professional, maybe I should if I want to rank up quickly.
“Oh, ya my flute.”
I can play my flute while I walk to the village.
I’m having quite a nice time right now.
I wonder if I look like some kind of mysterious adventure? That would be cool.
8 Hours Later
I think I can see the entrance of a village.
I need to find the village chef. And see if this is indeed the place that requested the scouting job.
“Excuse me, Miss, do you know where I can find the Village Chef?”
“Oh, humm.. He should be in the market. He's the one wearing the red hat.”
“Ok, thank you miss.”
Alright, I’m looking for a red hat.
This place looks lively for a village that is worried about monster activity. How odd, maybe it's just me that's weird for thinking that. I’ll take a note about this anyways.
