Back in Riverbrook

You look out a nearby window to see that the fog has drawn in thickly around the inn. As you peer out, you see spirits floating all around towards you. Their grey eyes glow as they seem to be fixed on you.

Closer and closer they creep.

Your breath quickens as you look away. When your gaze returns outside, the creatures are not there. It was only a trick of the mind in the dark of night.

One of your friends gives out a yawn and says, “Alright, I think I have one more story in me. Any suggestions?”

No response came from the group. It was clear that they too were finishing their ales and sleep was coming to them.

“How about a frightening tale that took place within the walls of Hailgrad?” another suggested.

“And what story might that be?” the first friend asked.

“It is a tale about a killer,” they responded in a low voice. “Have you heard of the Killer of Krell Street?”
