Standing tall in front of the enemy, Eva closes her eye for a brief second as the second vial is emptied into her system and shoots out from her receptor. At this moment, her body goes numb except for the tingling sensation of thousands of needles stabbing all over her body, reaching her muscles. This was Overdrive, a dangerous mode famously known to kill soldiers who engaged it unprepared. It exchanged the amassed power of their cybernetic implants for their sanity and health, putting soldiers in danger of getting their bodies torn apart. Eva’s combat suit changes into Overdrive support mode by opening exhausts and locking joints. Even so, Eva had no fear in Overdrive mode, fully trusting her Type-0 implants and suit. Unlike any other, they were developed to withstand pressure and heat like no other.
Before the enemy could take notice of what was going on, she was standing right on top of the defensive 50 cal machine gun as its barrel suddenly fell off from a clean cut provided by the plasma blade in her right hand. There are moments in life when we know we cannot win; it is a normal fear response of our bodies to preserve our lives and get away from such danger, a kind of sink or swim mechanism. Exactly at that moment, the enemy froze, knowing they had no chance once she had reached them. Every last one of them felt the same chill in their spine, the turn of their stomachs, the immense fear and instinct to run away as fast and far as possible. They knew it was too late. In front of them stood a modern-day ‘demon’—the Crimson Scarlet, an unstoppable monster.
Call it instinct, call it fear, but some reacted and started to scream while emptying their rifles’ magazines in her direction in hopes of taking down or deterring this monster. Amidst the screams of fear and the smoke from the air support, nothing was clearly visible, yet the enemy knew that one by one they were falling. In a desperate attempt, one of the enemy grabbed the T92-XC90 launcher, hoping to take down Scarlet even if it meant taking himself down in the process, only to be greeted by a .454 round between his eyes.

“Handy indeed, Doc,” Eva says as she pulls the blade out of the body of a fallen Concordian soldier, seeing how they are forming a defensive line inside a bunker. “If they seal tight, we will never manage to take them down!” she thinks as suddenly her GECKO alerts timeout on Overdrive. Eva knew she had a vial left, but not even she could withstand the shock from two vials and survive a third. As the timer keeps ticking down, she looks at the T92-XC90 round that was about to be used by the enemy to take her down… “When life gives you nukes!... wait no…” can be heard over the GECKO transmitter from her team members.
SGT Thompson suddenly screams, “EVA, DAMMIT! DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!” at the same time as Mike screams into his GECKO transmitter, “DO NOT BLOW UP THE ROUND, EVA! THAT’S AN ORDER!”
Suddenly, they all hear her message, “K-A-Boom!....” followed by an awkward silence. Then, a loud explosion takes out the enemy’s bunker entrance along with their artillery and air defense equipment. Eva had taken the last seconds of Overdrive to run towards the nuke launcher, grabbed the round, and tossed it with all her strength towards the enemy’s bunker before they could fully seal it. For a second, everyone thought it was a simple dud until it was followed by a plasma blade, which on impact, detonated the artillery round.
