AN: This chapter has a reference to Using the Force Made Easy by Fencer, it was great and I love the exploration of how the force works.
Moving stealthily to another city on Tatooine was actually a lot easier than I would have thought. With what passed for the central government literally being a hutt cartel, they didn’t even attempt to track us which made this all a lot less stressful.
That might change once the Empire got search parties out there and sent out information about our ship, well assuming Vader was able to accurately see our shuttle model through the concealment wards. I mean, while I didn’t have much hope of being able to deceive Vader, it might be enough to delay him while he tries to verify what we were on.
Instead, what was much more likely to delay the Empire long enough was security via obscurity. This was a fairly generic ship which would make tracking us quite a bit more difficult, or at least more difficult than tracking a unique ship like the millennium falcon. In fact I had already seen another Corellian Shuttle, just like ours, in the few hours since arriving on Tatooine.
On a personal note, I would admit that I was kind of glad to be rid of Jyn and Cassian as they never stopped trying to recruit us to the resistance. Ahsoka, on the other hand, seemed pretty comfortable just sitting in the corner of the common area, watching us in what seemed to be amusement. It probably didn’t hurt that she seemed tired, probably from trying to lose the bounty hunter that was tracking her down. It also was probably giving her time to feel us out with the force or whatever Jedi did when meeting someone new.
Regardless, this suborbital trip across Tatooine gave me enough time to test my abilities once again. While opening the portal’s entrance, I didn’t make an exit and started to push it outward. It was the simplest way I had found to make a pocket dimension. Yet even as I worked, I waited for the soul pain I had felt the last time I had tried this, but as my portal entrance passed one and then two meters wide, there was nothing. I smiled at the progress as I passed four and then five meters wide and two tall. In fact I had reached the ceiling of the shuttle and was able to fill most of the central hall and yet I still didn’t feel any pain. It was only as the portal reached nearly nine meters across that I felt the soul ache beginning to return.
Sighing in relief at the increase, I dropped the portal and hummed momentarily to myself. That was good progress. It had shot up an order of magnitude in the three days of hyperspace. At that rate of healing I would probably need perhaps another two days before I could open up the portal and effectively drive the shuttle into a new pocket dimension. Then it was just a matter of getting Lung’s soul to support the pocket the same way, then jumping us away.
A part of me wondered how wide exactly I could make it. I had never tested an upper limit before. It just seemed to take exponentially more time and effort each time it doubled in size so I hadn’t bothered trying. Maybe my limit was one of endurance rather than ability.
Plus, once we were done, this version of our pocket home should be stronger than our previous one due to the wards we had placed on the ship. I paused and thought that over again. Why hadn’t we warded our first house? And… and should we put up even more now? I mean, if we had ever thought we were safe, Earth Bet had resoundingly proved us wrong and there were a lot worse things out there even if Earth Bet was pretty bad.
I smiled a little as I thought over that. Trying to build an imposing, unbreakable fortress would need to be something I needed to look into.
Shaking my head I focused back on the cabin around me. As it turned out, that was apparently the right time to stop my tests as Thea was already maneuvering us into a new docking bay. Looking around outside the ship through the small vertical windows in the cockpit let me see a bit of the new city. It seems that Thea had chosen a city even smaller than the previous one, more of a country town. I wondered for a moment if a small city like this was a good idea before I shrugged. With so little info, it was probably as good a choice as any.
Collecting everyone I momentarily walked down the ramp to pay the docking fee before meeting with everyone else back up at the top of our ramp. Almost everyone currently awake was looking around, obviously a little interested in exploring. However, what surprised me a little was that Ahsoka wasn’t immediately leaving. I would have thought she would ditch us once we got her away from her bounty hunter tail.
Not that I thought she had anything against us personally, we just met, but I assumed she would be busy with something and getting her away cleanly was all she would want from us. However as I raised my eyebrow at her but before I could ask, she shrugged, probably sensing my emotions. “Last mission was a Kriffing disaster. I don’t really have anywhere to go at the moment… plus, I get the feeling that sticking with you and laying low would be the best option for now.”
I hummed for a moment before I nodded. “That shouldn’t be a problem.” Then I sighed. “We normally wouldn’t be explaining all our abilities and backstory to someone we just met, especially if they were planning on leaving relatively soon… However, you haven’t demanded anything from us and from what I have heard about you, you are a good woman so I am not going to try to hide everything either.”
Ahsoka seemed to be surprised I had heard of her and even more than I had heard good things about her. Probably because she was a sarcastic, hotheaded padawan in her youth. Being the padawan of Anakin Skywalker during the clone wars probably hadn’t helped her humility either. Worse, she had made several costly mistakes where she had gotten troops killed needlessly. Then, if that wasn’t enough, there was the entire story plotline about her being blamed for the bombing of the Jedi Temple where no one spoke up for her. Anakin had eventually proved her innocent, but only after everyone turned their backs on her. In the end she had left the Jedi Order feeling betrayed. Yet, from my meta knowledge I knew that she had grown up and was currently fighting as a one woman army, trying to do as much good as she could against the Empire and slavery in general.
The silence seemed to stretch from my compliment, even starting to become uncomfortable, yet before I could say anything more to break it, Ahsoka looked at my eyes and gave me a small smile that seemed to show just how tired and worn down she was. “Thank you.”
Leaving her to her devices I turned to Amy. “We should probably wake up the rest of the… nappers.” I could see grimaces all around but I pushed through. “I am not sure they would forgive me if they didn’t get a chance to walk around on Tatooine, given the opportunity to see and visit an alien world. Plus we have money and this is a great opportunity to grab what is basically advanced alien tech and more supplies.” I paused and more seriously I continued. “Plus we have, at minimum, another day or two until I can pop us away so we have time to burn.”
The idea of alien tech got everyone, especially Sarah to perk up. I knew that the former Bakuda wasn’t particularly happy with us at the moment, but the thought of inspecting new technology was more than enough to get a smile on her face again.
Waking everyone up was just as annoying as we thought it would be. The only redeeming factor started with the look of complete shock on Ahsoka’s face when she walked into the expanded wizarding tents for the first time. That amusement was then doubled each time one of the ‘nappers’ woke up to be greeted by what was clearly an alien standing at the foot of their bed. The empire base we had seen on Scarlif had been more or less filled with humans or mostly humans. That and most of the nappers didn’t really go around exploring. So waking up and seeing Ahsoka who was clearly not human, head tails and all, got all of them to jerk up and flail around in confusion.
Yet our amusement at seeing everyone get their first look at an alien didn’t make the responses to our explanations of how we had put them to sleep any less annoying. I mean it was understandable and I would have been annoyed too to find out that I had been deemed an irritant or liability. But they were still guests in our home… well shuttle home, and all of us found ourselves losing patience with the backtalk quickly.
However, it was only when Amy threatened to start putting everyone back to sleep that the muttering quieted down. Oh, they were still annoyed and would be even more annoyed when we put them down again before we popped away from this universe, but most of them were good enough to not be antagonistic after we explained we were giving them the chance to explore around Tatooine for a few hours. A chance that could be rescinded if they really didn’t want to go. Especially as the transfiguration of their clothes, that we had already started, to something that wouldn’t look out of place on Tatooine was taking a lot of concentration at our level of magical skill.
Yet while we were making traveling groups for safety, ensuring that the unpowered Earth Bet refugees such as Taylor or Dinah’s parents were surrounded by people with powers and experience, Amy finally made her move. It was obvious that she didn’t want to seem creepy to the attractive female alien, but Amy couldn’t keep the edge of begging out of her voice as she asked. “Ahsoka…. Please let me take a look at your body!”
Ahsoka blinked before she blushed and backed up a few feet, visibly confused. “Sorry, what?…”
Amy’s face turned sheepish, realizing what she had said, “Ah… sorry I meant please let me use my healing abilities to better understand how your biology works.”
There was a moment where Ahsoka visibly relaxed before Amy’s face turned mischievous and I saw her flirty side come out with an actual giggle. “We can get more acquainted after that…” she said with an actual wink.
I could see the thirty something woman actually stutter as she tried to respond. “But… I thought?” Flicking her eyes between Amy and Sabah who had been sitting in Amy’s lap.
I rolled my eyes at Amy before ushering the rest of our Earth Bet refugees down the ramp. If she wanted to spend her time flirting and trying to understand alien biology then more power to her. Although after a moment of consideration I called out in an amused tone before walking down the ramp waving my hand without turning around. “Remember, the clothes stay on unless she actually joins the Family.”
Amy’s giggle got louder and I could practically hear Ahsoka’s confusion before I closed the ramp behind me.
Now that we were all wearing the local, loose white and gray clothes common on Tatooine, we didn’t look overly strange. The problem was our group’s demeanor. My girls had gotten mostly used to seeing different worlds, even if most of them had been versions of Earth, but the rest of our group were walking around amazed, a few even had their mouths hanging open. I thought about saying something as I suspected we looked like a group of wealthy tourists, maybe from a human supremacist system from how they were gawking at all the aliens, but I doubt we could really change anything at this point since most of the market had seen us. We would just have to trust any threats to notice how heavily we had armed each of our groups of a half dozen or so.
It helped that my girls and New Wave were all experienced enough that I didn’t think normal thugs or sand raiders would pose any threat to them. The only problem was reminding Amy's superhero family to keep displays of powers to a last resort and that included Vicky, who I had to remind not to fly… twice. The last thing we needed was to make people think we were Jedi and start a manhunt… again.
While everyone else was looking around, I focused on getting a few interesting items including several different models of blaster rifles, an incredibly powerful battery called a power cell, a thermal detonator (which I immediately put in its own pocket dimension for safety), several communication relays, a few portable hologram displays, a used computer reportedly used by an expert systems slicer, a personal shield from a old combat droid,a datapad on hyperdrive maintenance and another on droid construction, and finally a few small anti-gravity engines used on pod racers.
Honestly it was a great haul. I kinda wished I had a few more girls who were experts in technology besides Thea and Sarah, but once we understood this technology it would give us so many more options, it wasn’t even funny.
While I was picking through the technology most of the other members of our group seemed satisfied with small things such as floating cameras or fancy clothes. My girls seemed a lot less impressed and didn’t get much besides a few trinkets or decorations they thought were interesting and I left them to it.
The one exception was Sabah who stopped when she spotted some entertainment slaves. They looked like Twi'leks and I momentarily thought she was interested in their swaying hips before I realized she was looking at the store next to it. There they were selling clothes for pleasure slaves… well, if the strips of cloth and metal could actually be called clothes.
Walking up behind her I spoke up, amusement practically dripping off of my tone as I decided to tease her just a bit. “Hmmm, nice… maybe I should get a matching pair for you and Amy.”
She jumped, ears going a little red before I saw her get a determined look in her eye as she bit her lip. A moment later she smiled at me before actually taking my hand and pulling me over to the stand and picking up two costumes more or less identical to what Slave Leia had worn.
Looking at her, I was a little surprised and had to ask. “I thought you would have made it yourself if you wanted a set.”
Sabah rolled her eyes, but still had a small blush as she paid the man and handed me the package to carry. “If we came all the way here I wanted to get an ‘authentic’ version for Amy and me.” She paused before she smiled a little embarrassed. “Seeing Leia in the outfit was one of the things that made me realize I preferred women.” She paused again and eyed me before she smirked ever so slightly. “I think the four of us wouldn’t mind wearing them for you if you want. I can even make copies for all your future wives as well. A little bit of cosplay in the bedroom could be fun.”
This time I felt my cheeks going a bit rosy, but Sabah must have seen my eyes going glassy as I imagined it, because she didn’t even bother to wait for my verbal confirmation before muttering a, “Boys…” in a tone that was half way between exasperated and fond.
The rest of the day passed more or less similarly and I would have been buried in small purchases if I couldn’t discreetly portal them away whenever they started building up.

It was only as the two suns were starting to set and we started heading back to the ship that I noticed the sand storm building on the horizon. Now with a deadline, I ushered everyone to move faster to make sure we weren’t caught out in the open. Yet before I could follow the rest of our group, I saw Luna jerk to a stop. Taylor also noticed our stop, probably with her bug control. I thought about asking her if she was tagging everyone in the market with flies like she did in cannon, but decided I didn’t want to know what she had on me.
A few moments later a few more of our group noticed, but I waved everyone else to go on without us. Luna, Taylor, and I could take care of ourselves and I could portal us back at any time. I mean, opening portals would break our cover again, but we were getting close to leaving Tatooine anyway.
Luna seemed to be trying to find something as she looked around and I wondered what it was. Yet I didn’t have the chance to ask as a few moments later Luna gave a gasp and swung her head to look to the side.
Before I could form the words to ask what she had spotted, she started walking quickly towards a teenage boy with sandy blond hair. Calling out she asked. “Luke Skywalker?”
I nearly broke my neck with my double take before I was able to get a hold of myself.
Luke looked confused, obviously trying to figure out what two attractive girls wanted with him. And he definitely thought they were attractive if the blush he was starting to develop was an indication. To his credit, he managed to focus on their faces before noticing me. “Hi, uh, can I help you three with something? And, uh, sorry to be rude, but have we actually met before?”
I smiled and shook my head. “No, sorry we haven’t met, but… ” getting the idea of what Luna wanted, I glanced at Luna who looked up and nodded at me so I continued. “We have heard of you.”
The boy who appeared to be in his late teens shook his head. “No way… you are having me on. This must be a joke…” in a quieter voice he said something about getting Rosian back for putting us up to this. Voice now wary, he continued. “I am only a moisture farmer, there is no way some offworld traders like yourselves would have heard of me.”
Luna looked at him a little harder for a few moments before she shook her head. “He doesn’t have much time. A few days at most.”
That got Luke to look up and take us seriously. “What do you mean?”
I grimaced, but looked around. “Can we talk with your aunt and uncle?”
The boy looked a little confused but after a moment of studying us, he got up to take us to his home. Yet before we could get more than 10 meters towards his hover car, we were stopped by an older man who waved his hand at us. “You want to tell me why you are so interested in this boy.”
For a moment I felt the compulsion to tell him everything, but a moment later my hard won mental barriers slammed up and I glared at what must have been Obi Wan Kanobi. Luke had looked vaguely similar to how the movies had portrayed him, light wispy brown hair, blue eyes, strong jaw, moderately good looks albeit a little more muscular than the movie, but I suppose that was to be expected from his work as a farmer.
However, Obi Wan Kanobi was not nearly as old looking in person as he looked in episode 4. He had grown out his hair and it had turned partially gray with age but, even if he hadn’t been actively using it, the Force seemed to be preserving him like it did to most powerful Jedi. He was supposed to be in his mid 50s at this point but I would have guessed he was only perhaps 40 or so from just looking at him. I could even visualize him as the handsome and charismatic young Jedi that the stories portrayed him as in the prequels.
There was a moment of silence as I decided what to tell Obi Wan before I decided to just be blunt even if I kept my voice calm. “We are here to pass along a warning we received from the Force. Would you really ignore that?”
That took Obi Wan back and I gestured towards Luke’s hover car. “Let’s talk inside Luke’s home.”
There was a moment where Obi Wan hesitated but seeing the sand storm coming and realizing we needed to move quickly he only considered for a few more moments, probably feeling us out through the Force, before he nodded. “Alright.”
As we traveled the mile or two out to Luke’s farm, I discreetly pulled up my new communicator and shot out a message to our shuttle, letting them know we were safe, but that we would be late.
Despite Obi Wan’s attempts to get our information out of us before we arrived, it was only as we sat down in Luke’s home that I actually started to explain.
I sighed and started the long explanation. “So, we don’t have time to beat around the bush here. The empire is looking for us, but unfortunately for you, we have passed too close to you and I suspect from…” I glanced at Luna for confirmation who nodded, “Luna here, who saw a force vision, the empire will find you.” I glanced at Luke and then his uncle and aunt. I vaguely remembered that he was Anakin’s step brother or something and his father had freed Anakin’s mother, Shmi. At that point she had actually lived somewhat well… or well enough before she was captured and killed by the Tusken raiders. I was almost certain that Palpatine had orchestrated that, but as much as I kinda wished we had arrived before all of that happened, it didn’t matter now. Or at least not for this particular version of the Star Wars universe.
Shaking my head I focused on the here and now. Obi Wan seemed to have gotten over his shock at hearing the Empire was coming for them as he spoke up, body tense. “What are you saying?”
I pulled out the rest of our money. We still had plenty even after our shopping trip since we had originally gathered enough to buy Jyn and Cassian a ship. Lobbing the money bag on the table I shrugged. “Get yourselves out. We aren’t looking to come with you and it doesn’t really matter to us where you choose to go because I suspect that the Force will guide you regardless, but you need to go. Hell, it might even be better if we don’t know where you are planning on going so you don’t need to worry about us possibly betraying you.”
Obi Wan hummed for a moment before looking across the table at Luke and his aunt and uncle. There was a short pause before he reached forward and picked up the sack of coins and, after glancing inside, he nodded. “Yes, I think you might be right, my young friend.”
I rolled my eyes, the man was trying to play the old wise man a little too hard and I simply didn’t care. Especially when compared to Dumbledore who did it better. Although both did have a bad habit of not explaining things when they really should have.
Yet before I could get up and make my excuses to leave we were stopped by the Skywalkers. In fact Luke’s aunt practically dragged me towards the dining table. “No, no, no… you have come here to warn us and have even helped us leave, the least we can do is offer you some food and you really shouldn’t be out in the storm no matter how close your ship is.”
I looked at Luna and Taylor who both shrugged before I followed suit and sat down to eat what was probably some sort of desert lizard and some very strange blueish milk.
By the time we finished, making small talk about what life was like as a moisture farmer and what places we had visited in our travels, the storm had died down. That was convenient as it meant we weren’t going to have to explain how we were getting home since I wasn’t going to show them our portals if we didn’t have to.
Getting up I was about to excuse ourselves when Taylor turned her head and looked towards the door. I was about to ask who it was when I noticed Taylor smile slightly.
Now that I was sure it was one of my girls, I didn’t bother to wait and I turned to open the door to greet what turned out to be Amy and Ahri. Amy was apparently feeling flirty as she gave me a peck on the lips as she walked past. Probably happy about being able to study Ahsoka’s biology. Ahri rolled her eyes, but seemed not to want to be left behind because she gave me a little peck as well.
Behind them I noticed Ahsoka had actually come too, probably to make sure my girls were safe, and who must have been concealing her presence if Obi Wan hadn’t noticed her by now.
Yet, instead of being able to leave I was distracted by Luke making some sort of choking sound behind me.Realizing why he would be a little shocked, I sighed and rolled my eyes.
Honestly, it was almost funny how much of Luke’s initial motivation to fight was because he thought Leia was hot. That became really awkward when it turned out she was his sister and it quickly became more as his uncle and aunt died and he saw how bad the empire was… but his first motivation proved how his hormones were raging at this point in his life.
Turning around I considered the teenager for a moment before I sighed. “I want you to take the advice I am about to give seriously, but understand it is just my opinion.”
I watched as Luke slowly nodded as Obi Wan frowned but came closer while his uncle and aunt did the same, stepping out from another room. Clearing my throat I smiled at Luke. “You are very, very strong in the Force, Luke.”
Luke blinked in surprise, but I noticed that neither Obi Wan nor Luke’s aunt and uncle reacted.
“You obviously know now that we have some abilities as well.” I started, not clarifying that it wasn’t strictly Force abilities, even if I figured our magic abilities were close enough that they seemed to count for what I would say next.
“The modern Jedi almost never married because they felt that attachments like that would eventually lead them to the dark side. It might have been the thing that led your father to make his tragic choices as well.” I hesitated but continued. “Then again, most of the reason your father fell was because Emperor Palpatine was actively manipulating him.”
I could tell that everyone wanted to tell me to shut up, but I bullied through, right past the building interruptions. “That said, this aversion from marrying is relatively new and in my opinion completely stupid. A thousand or so years ago most of the old Jedi were married and quite happy and as far as I can tell, very few of them fell.”
I could tell Obi Wan really, really wanted to jump in but I didn’t stop. “I will admit that the relationships introduced stress and worries they wouldn’t have had. But I feel exceptionally strongly that a well balanced person doesn’t just run away from his emotions. Doing that to an extreme makes him little better than a sociopath, instead you need to learn to control your emotions, not reject them.”
From behind me Ahsoka must have gotten close enough to be spotted through the door, probably studying me while I was giving my somewhat heretical take on the Jedi code. Yet her attention was quickly stolen when she spotted Obi Wan.
Almost like a mirror image, I could practically taste Obi Wan’s shock as he spotted Ahsoka. Part of me wondered if being surrounded by three of the strongest living Jedi was making the force dense enough here for me to get a little bit of Jedi empathy. It also made me wonder if it was something we could all learn. Most Jedi could, it was just a question of if the skill would travel realities with us.
I glanced behind me to really look at Ahsoka’s face, which might as well have been carved from rock as she looked at Obi Wan, probably for the first time in many years before she took a long, hard look at Luke. I wondered how much she knew, but she seemed to be putting at least some things together as, again, I could practically feel her confusion and hurt.
She might have suspected that Anakin had fallen to become Vader, but my explanation and the disappearance of Obi Wan just to guard a boy that looked so much like his father was making her face the fear. It probably hadn’t helped that they had obviously not contacted her to let her know any of this. It probably wasn’t purposeful exclusion, but it would certainly have felt like it.
Sighing, I continued. “I have personally felt the allure of the dark side, as well as several of my girls.” Taylor, Luna, and, surprisingly enough, Ahri nodded emphatically at that while Amy didn’t. “That doesn't mean that we reject our emotions, we just aren’t ruled by them. In fact I believe it was those emotions that kept me grounded along with my wonderful girls.” I smiled at my girls who smiled back.
I turned to Luke again, “Ask Obi Wan about the old Jedi Code, I think you might like that better. In my opinion it is a much more healthy way to deal with emotions. I can’t repeat it word for word, but it can be summed up roughly by acknowledging emotions exist, but declaring that the Jedi would not be controlled by them. I can feel anger, frustrations, fear, and even love right now and I still feel completely fine. It was only when I started to let my emotions and anger overwhelm me, leaking them back into the force which then came back stronger in some sort of feedback loop, that I felt myself losing control.”
Giving everyone a sad smile I continued, “Yet while I would prefer you deal with your emotions in a healthier way, in the end, I can’t and won’t try to attempt to control any of your decisions.”
Yet, it was then that I got a mischievous idea and I smirked. “That said, if you want a woman, or even multiple women to be happy with you, especially powerful women… complete honesty, hard work, and a lot of personal care for each of them is what I recommend. It is their choice to join you, but doing that has worked for me.” I gave the young man a wink before reaching out and giving Taylor and Ahri, who were closer, a quick side hug. The two rolled their eyes, but played along pressing their bodies into mine a bit to show they enjoyed the attention.
I was just about to walk away when I turned back and raised an eyebrow at Ahsoka. “Did you want us to wait for you or did you want to stay and talk with Obi Wan and the Skywalkers?”
Ahsoka looked at Obi Wan for several moments where I felt a large number of additional emotions pass through her before she frowned and, eyes not leaving Obi Wan she shook her head while she answered me. “If you could stay on the planet for an hour or two so I can have a talk with Obi Wan, I would appreciate it. I should be able to decide where I want to go by then.”
I nodded before waving at this universe's chosen one, or at least the chosen one round two, and started walking out of the home at an easy pace.
Probably because the two suns had sunk past the horizon and the temperature was dropping, I noticed a variety of slaves and peasants cleaning up and finishing their work. Seeing how beaten down most of the people were here I was momentarily tempted to try to find a way to help, but I had to once again shake my head to get my thoughts in order. Regardless of how bad it was here, we simply didn’t have the time, resources, or power to free the slaves across an entire planet. Especially while the Empire was trying to track us down as we spoke.
Yet all of my justifications still felt a little hollow as I saw a young alien girl struggling to carry food back from the market only to get screamed at when she made it inside. Maybe a better person would have risked it, but I turned away. It was why I would probably never label ourselves as heroes. Maybe we could count as Good Samaritans or some sort of antiheroes, but I had no desire to outright sacrifice ourselves for strangers.
I could tell Taylor and Luna in particular weren’t happy either so I spoke up. “Once we have helped Holly and have more power we can consider coming back and trying to change places like this” I trailed off for a second before running a hand through my hair and continued in a frustrated voice, “with our abilities right now the only thing I could think of would be assassinating the hutt leadership and hoping it doesn’t get worse with the next warlord to gain power. Especially as the planet turns into a battle for succession by all the local crime lords.”
Again, I could see their frustration which was probably mirrored on my face, but everyone gave a muttered agreement as I reached out for Taylor and Luna’s hands and gave them a little squeeze before we focused on getting back to the shuttle.
Taylor in particular looked like she was tempted to do something as she narrowed her eyes, but I didn’t have time to find out as it was then, as we were walking next to a back alley, that a group of rough men stepped out of some shadows before raising some blasters at us. “Step away from the women, boy, and we will only rob you.”
I nearly groaned with how cliche this was. I knew, thanks to Amy’s work, that my girls were beautiful. Maybe not supernaturally so like a Veela, but they turned heads pretty much everywhere we went and I suspected that things were only going to get worse.
I glanced at Taylor and Amy. “Do you have your bugs ready?”
Taylor’s face turned a little dark and she nodded. However, ignoring them seemed to have made the thugs angry as they started yelling something about cutting off my limbs before breaking my women in front of me.
I admittedly didn’t pay attention as it was only a few moments later that they all raised a hand up to the back of their necks before collapsing. To my surprise, two others who looked like spectators behind us also collapsed. Only as they were laying in the sand, glassy eyed, I noticed they had been holding blasters as well. After a moment to consider, I realized they had been there to hit us from behind if we resisted.
Shrugging while noticing all the normal civilians had quickly ducked away from this street, I was about to go around and round up their souls for possible food for Ahri and future jumps when we spotted Ahsoka rounding the corner running at a sprint towards us. She must have sensed that we were in danger. It was only as she saw us unharmed that she blinked and slowed. “What… what happened?…”
I chuckled and just walked forward to start dragging the few thugs, mostly human men, into the alley they had come from. It would take a few minutes to rip their souls out and it was best not to do it in the street even if no one without soul sight could see what I was doing.
It was Taylor that decided to explain a bit while rolling her eyes. “We have our own tricks, you know.”
I nodded, adding my two cents. “That is true. Hell, most of you are way more dangerous than I am and probably will ever be, especially as everything I can do is generally slow. It is only because of our bond that I could theoretically have a chance and I would have to fight dirty.”
Luna actually skipped forward, collecting the blasters for future use. “Yep, we aren’t just arm candy.” she said before giggling. “Even if that role is pretty fun too.”
That seemed to have surprised Ahsoka, but she only had a few moments to look amused at Luna before she was once again distractedly listening to Taylor and Amy as they started explaining their basic abilities. They were apparently hoping that Ahsoka was coming with us as they were starting to give some general details. I trusted they had checked for anyone that could overhear us, so I didn’t stop them as the explained that Taylor could control all the bugs within a half mile or so, Amy could heal and manipulate biology, Luna was a seer, and Ahri was an illusionist and minor empath, to say nothing of the magic we all had.
It was when I had finished stacking the thugs' bodies into a pile while putting their souls in some glass beads I had grabbed through a portal to the shuttle, that I realized there actually wasn’t any reason to stick around anymore. Shrugging I just widened said portal and walked through the new door into our ship’s cargo hold. Behind me I waited for Amy, Ahri, Taylor, Luna and Ahsoka to follow me through before I closed it.
Interlude Holly:
Holly looked down at the portkey that Dumbledore had sent them to get them back in time for the next Hogwarts term. Hermione, Max, and the rest were supposed to have been home a week ago… Where the hell was everyone?
Also, she was pretty sure that if she didn’t leave soon, she was going to try to murder one of the two couples stuck in this relatively small three bedroom cottage. Lin was at least a little private, especially with her daughter around, but Sherrel wasn’t even trying to be discreet.
Hell, she was pretty sure Tonks was thinking the same thing from how she scowled every time they saw the two girls walking around with messy hair or some wobbly legs.
I mean she wasn’t about to go walk into town and jump the closest boy… or maybe even girl… that she could find. She wasn’t that desperate or easy, but it didn’t mean that she enjoyed living with two happy couples while she was painfully single..
Interlude Vicky:
Vicky looked out at the sand covered city on Tatooine. It was awe inspiring how alien, pun intended, everything was.
She wished that she could have had the chance to fly and see the city, but she understood the need to keep their heads down in a place like this.
Seeing all the tech was pretty amazing too. She was already planning on trying to figure out how to get Ahsoka to show her her lightsaber.
Yet in the back of her mind all she could think about was the fact that Dean would have given his left arm to be here and see this.
