The next morning, Gun-woo woke up early to take Ji-eun to her middle school. He knew she was shy and didn't like taking public transportation alone, so he always made sure to drop her off on his way to his own middle school.
Gun-woo rode his Harley up to the entrance of Ji-eun's school, where she hopped off and gave him a small wave goodbye. He watched her disappear into the building before revving his engine and heading towards his own school.
Gun-woo's middle school, Gangseo Middle School was a small, rundown building on the outskirts of Seoul. It was a far cry from the prestigious private school Ji-eun attended, but it was the only option for Gun-woo after their father went to jail and their mother left them.
As he pulled up to the school, Gun-woo noticed a group of kids gathered around the snack stand outside the gate. He parked his bike and made his way over, scanning the shelves for his favorite snack.
"Hey, Gun-woo," one of the kids called out. "You here for the new strawberry milk? It just came in this morning."
Gun-woo grinned, nodding his head. "Yeah, give me two."
He paid for the snacks and made his way back to his bike, popping open one of the bottles and taking a swig. He loved the sweet, creamy taste of the strawberry milk and often indulged in it as a treat.
As he sat on his bike, sipping his milk, he couldn't help but think about soccer. He had always loved the sport and had played it since he was a kid. But ever since joining the Black Vipers, he had put his dreams of playing professionally on hold.
Gun-woo finished his milk and tossed the bottle into a nearby trash can before revving his engine and taking off towards the gang's headquarters. He needed to talk to the other members and figure out a way to balance his passion for soccer with his loyalty to the gang.
When he arrived at the headquarters, the other members were gathered around a table, planning their next move. Gun-woo took a seat and listened as they discussed their plans for the week.
"Gun-woo, you seem distracted," one of the members, Joon-ho, said. "What's going on?"
Gun-woo took a deep breath and decided to be honest. "I've been thinking a lot about soccer lately. I miss playing."
The other members looked at him in surprise, not expecting this confession.
"But we're in the middle of a war with the Red Cobras," one of the members, Hyun-joo, said. "You can't just back out now."
"I'm not saying I want to leave the gang," Gun-woo said quickly. "I just want to find a way to balance both my passions."
The other members looked at each other, uncertain. They knew that being in the gang required a lot of time and dedication, and they didn't want Gun-woo to get distracted.
"Look, I know it's not easy," Gun-woo continued. "But I can't ignore my love for soccer. It's been a part of me since I was a kid."

The other members looked at Gun-woo for a moment before nodding their heads in agreement. They knew how much soccer meant to him and didn't want to stand in the way of his dreams.
"Okay, we'll figure something out," Joon-ho said, clapping Gun-woo on the back.
After thanking the other members, Gun-woo went over the plans for the gang wars with everyone. They discussed specific details of their strategies and Gun-woo was active in making suggestions and adding dialogue between the gang members.
As the meeting came to an end, Gun-woo and Min-joon headed out to the bike shop they worked at called Hongdae Motor's. On their way there, they talked about what soccer team they should join.
"We have two options," Gun-woo said. "We can try out for a youth club, but that's expensive and uncertain. Or we can play for our middle school team."
"I think we should go for the middle school team," Min-joon said. "It's closer and we already go there. Plus, it'll be good to help out the team."
Gun-woo nodded in agreement. "Yeah, and we can always try out for a youth club later if we want to."
When they arrived at the bike shop, they quickly changed into their work clothes and got to work. They spent the morning repairing bikes and discussing their plans for the soccer team.
Around lunchtime, they took a break and sat outside, enjoying the warm sun. Gun-woo pulled out his phone and started researching their middle school's soccer team.
"Hey, I can't find anything on our school's team," Gun-woo said in frustration. "No achievements, bad academic school, and a bad soccer team."
Min-joon shook his head. "That's too bad. But we can still make it better. We'll work hard and make it a team to be proud of."
Gun-woo smiled, feeling excited about the prospect of playing soccer again. "Yeah, let's go talk to the teacher in charge of the soccer club."
They finished their snacks from the nearby 7 Eleven and hopped on their bikes, making their way to their middle school. When they arrived, they quickly found the teacher in charge of the soccer club and asked about tryouts.
"Gangseo's soccer club isn't very good," the teacher admitted. "But tryouts are next week if you're interested."
Gun-woo and Min-joon thanked the teacher and made their way back to their bikes. Gun-woo couldn't help but feel excited about the prospect of playing soccer again.
As Gun-woo and Min-joon rode back to the Black Viper's hideout, they continued their conversation about their plans for the soccer team. Gun-woo brought up their old friend, Jae-hyun, who was a talented goalkeeper when they played in the little league.
"Do you think Jae-hyun would be interested in joining the team?" Gun-woo asked.
"I'm not sure," Min-joon replied. "We haven't talked to him in a while."
Gun-woo nodded in agreement. "We should reach out to him and see if he's interested. It would be great to have him on the team."
When they arrived at the warehouse, they parked their bikes and headed inside. The other members of the Black Viper gang were lounging around, playing pool and watching TV.
Gun-woo and Min-joon made their way to the pool table and started a game. As they played, they talked about their plans for the soccer team and how they could make it better.
"I think we need to focus on practicing and getting better," Min-joon said. "We can't just rely on our individual skills. We need to work together as a team."
Gun-woo nodded in agreement. "Yeah, and we need to settle this gang war as soon as possible. We can't let it distract us from our goal of winning nationals."
The other gang members listened intently, nodding in agreement. They knew how important the soccer team was to Gun-woo and Min-joon, and they were willing to do whatever it takes to help them succeed.
After the game of pool, Gun-woo and Min-joon decided to reach out to Baek and see if he was interested in joining the team. They found his number and gave him a call.
"Hey, Baek, it's Gun-woo and Min-joon," Gun-woo said when Baek picked up.
"Hey, what's up?" Baek replied.
"We're putting together a soccer team for our middle school and we were wondering if you wanted to join," Min-joon said.
There was a moment of silence before Baek replied. "Sure, I'd be interested. When are tryouts?"
"Next week," Gun-woo said. "We'll let you know the exact date and time."
"Great, I'll be there," Baek said.
Gun-woo and Min-joon hung up the phone, feeling excited about the prospect of playing soccer with their old friend again.
As they sat around the warehouse, the conversation turned to the gang war and how they could settle it quickly. They knew that they needed to focus on soccer if they wanted to have a chance at winning nationals.
After a few hours, Gun-woo and Min-joon decided to call it a day. They hopped on their bikes and headed home, feeling tired but satisfied with their progress.
