Sara's (not really) Fabulous System Armageddon, Book I: The World Ended at Rush Hour
Foreword - C&D Letters, TItle Changes, and What to Expect.

Foreword - C&D Letters, TItle Changes, and What to Expect.

My First Cease and Desist Letter!

----------------------------------------

I got a C&D message from Tao Wong's Editor company, they asked me to change the title, because they copyrighted "The System Apocalypse" as it's the name of their series. Mine didn't have the "THE" part, but that was not the hill I'll die on. So you now have Sara's Fabulous System Armageddon instead of the former title.

Update schedule!

----------------------------------------

This novel shall update every Sunday, at the same time, if RR servers work as intended. Each chapter will be around 3k ~ 5k words. I already have a few scheduled ones and a lot of drafted content which is currently undergoing several passes of editing and review. It's a radical shift from how I worked in the previous years (draft and publish, as fast as possible) but I am hoping it will lead to an increase in quality.

In Loki's Honor will continue to be updated. I set the schedule to "weekly" exactly to leave me time to work on that.

Maybe "Sara" will become my K.U. debut. That's not scheduled for 2022, if ever. But I will set a Patreon sometime next month. Both Sara and ILH will have advance chapters available there.

What is this novel about?

----------------------------------------

I often find that people fill the blanks of the story using the content of the first few chapters. When the story takes a turn that seems obvious to the author, people get shocked because it mismatches the expectations they created when they filled those blanks with their own imagination. This section intends to avoid that without detailed spoilers (but spoilers nonetheless because the author is telling you what is going to happen in the future).

We'll follow Sara as she navigates post-apocalyptic Earth. For now it's just the area east of downtown Atlanta, but it will eventually spill over to other places. It is Lit-RPG and there's a System (it's in the title, dammit) but this is not Solo Leveling (the Korean one). If things don't go past Patagonia (that's America's (the continent, doh) southernmost point), everyone will get the System.

Differently from other similar novels (it's a genre by now) that get the System in chapter one, people will have to squirm a bit before they reach that point where they can level up and grow stronger by fiat.

Also differently from many "Post-Apocalyptic Earth System" stories, there will be no asshole alien overlords whatsoever. I'll leave those to Tao Wong, Matt Dinniman, Ryan DeBruyn, Mirrored, L. M. Kerr, and TheFirstDefier. I told you it's a genre by now. Also, I recommend all those authors.

Regarding the four warnings RR asks the authors to mark, I checked all but "Sexual Content" (That's Traumatizing Content, Profanity, and Gore - We'll get tons of those). I don't feel the need to explore the characters' sexuality in this work, and I don't do gratuitous smut. Every sex chapter i wrote in my other novels had a purpose other than badly titillating the reader.

We'll have undead, supernatural entities, monsters, and survivor conflict. Technological decay and societal regression. This is a weak-to-strong novel, but not in the absurd levels often seen in similar Lit-RPG works. I want to keep it down-to-earth for now.

Please keep an open mind. The scope will grow after a while, then grow again. Don't mistake the trees for the forest.
