Sancho: Murder Chihuahua
1. A Terror is Born

1. A Terror is Born

Near the border of Mexico in a small town, a brown and white chihuahua was in labor. She had been homeless her whole life and was scared of humans. She did let some of them give her food from time to time, but that was only when she was desperate. She had found an old cardboard box in a rarely used alleyway, she knew the pups were coming and wanted to find shelter for them. Soon after she moved into the box the first pup was coming out, followed by a second. They were small but looked healthy. She whimpered in agony the next pup was larger than the other two. She pushed as hard as she could to get the last pup out and finally succeeded. She moved all three close to her body and passed out.

As her pups grew she was happy that they shared her coloring pattern, a lighter shade of brown patches and white fur. She was irritated, however, because she was constantly after the largest one. He was always bullying the other two, especially when it came time for food. He would use his size advantage to shove them out of the way so he would be the only one drinking her milk. On multiple occasions, she had nipped him, but he never screamed or really yelped in pain. He would simply back off and give her a huff. They continued to grow and it came time for the weening process. She thought she was going to have a hard time with the largest one, but he stopped trying quickly. It was the smaller two she struggled with. The largest of her pups moved on quickly and went out on his own.

Having grown up on the streets, he was constantly getting into fights. Cats, birds, other dogs, it didn't matter, he would fight them all. He rarely lost fights, but when he did he would come back with a vengeance. Food was hard to come by sometimes, he hunted bugs, and small rodents for his food. He didn't want to be like the other dogs begging for their food scraps from the humans. He would get lucky sometimes when a trash can was knocked over, but that was the only time he would get human food.

Having reached a year of age, he felt ready to explore more of his territory. It was his, he just hadn't finished marking all of it yet. Too many things were taller than him, he didn't like that. On one of his marking sprees, he started smelling the scent of other dogs. He went to investigate who was encroaching on his territory and to give them a lesson. He found himself in a small neighborhood, it looked like paradise to him. He could smell and see other females playing or laying out in the grass, there were few males around, but he knew he could take them easy. His ears shot up when another dog started charging towards him barking.

"You wanna fight ese," he barked back.

He charged and lunged at the approaching dog. It was a small brown dog with a smushed face and long fur. He tackled the newcomer growling and snapping his jaws on anything he could get ahold of. The other dog yelped in pain and couldn't do anything to fight back, finally giving up and showing his belly.

"That's right foo, I'm the big dog here," he said standing over the other dog.

All the dogs in the area came to see and watch the fight, it was a madhouse of barking and tipping.

"Im sorry," the other dog said. "Don't hurt me anymore."

"You ain't worth my time, that wasn't even a good fight," he said. "Why did you come after me?"

"My momma said to protect the house," the other dog said. "Im not good at it though."

"You tried ese, you don't seem too bad, want me to teach you how to fight," he asked

"You would do that for me? Sure, thank you," the other dog said. "Im Chewy by the way, what is your name?"

"Chewy, like short for Jesus? I don't have a name," he said.

"No just Chewy."

"Imma call you Jesus."

Chewy gave him a dull look.

"Come on Jesus, let's go jit up the ladies over there."

They trotted over to a fence that had two female chihuahuas. They had been barking at them while they were fighting and ignoring them. They got more vicious as they approached.

"That's Rosey and Sofia," Chewy said. "I have never been able to talk to them."

"Head up ese, these chicas won't respect you if you don't walk up with confidence," he said. "Ladies, ladies, calmate, take it easy. We just came to say what's up."

"Chewy, what are you doing with this street rat," Sofia asked.

"He's kinda hot," Rosey said.

"Whatever, he smells like he lives in an trash pile," Sofia said.

"I live on the streets girl, it's rough out there," He said.

"Ha, hi Sofia, hi Rosey," Chewy stammered. "he said he would teach me to fight."

"He is gonna get you killed Chewy," Sofia said.

"Sofia, don't worry, Jesus will be fine," he said.

"Who is Jesus," Sofia asked.

"Him," he nodded at Chewy.

"His name isn't Jesus, ugh never mind, did you come here to start shit or what," Sofia asked.

"Just marking my territory, this whole place is mines," he said

"Yeah right, come on Rosey, let's go back inside," Sofia said.

"I want to stay," Rosey protested. "He seems fun."

"He is trouble Rosey," Sofia said.

"I am trouble," he said.

"That's your name then," Rosey asked.

"I don't have a name," he said.

"HA, of course you don't," Sofia mocked him. "Let's go Rosey, Momma doesn't want us out with this street trash."

They watched as Sofia went back inside, Rosey followed her reluctantly.

"Why don't you have a name," Chewy asked. "Do you not have a human?"

"No human, grew up on the streets," he said, watching Rosey leave. "Rosey, she is going to be my lover."

"Good luck, their human doesn't let any males near them," Chewy said.

"Just wait and see my friend," he said. "I will be back tomorrow Jesus. We will see about getting you some fight experience then."

Chewy walked back to his yard and watched his new friend stare at Sofia and Rosey's house. He always had a thing for Sofia, so maybe his new friend could help him with that also. He watched his new friend reluctantly leave the neighborhood. He shook his body and started walking down the street he had come from. He had his ears up, tail up, and walked with complete confidence. Chewy found himself slightly jealous of the new dog but was happy he was going to be taught to fight better.

Walking back to his den, he couldn't get his mind off Rosey. She was stunning, and he knew he was going to do anything and everything to make her his. For now, he wanted to get some food and some sleep, he went for a quick search and got lucky down an alley that some tipped-over trash cans. He ate his fill and made it back to his den bedding down for the evening. Tomorrow he was going back to that heavenly place.
