Hey, everyone! It's been a long while.

Firstly, I just want to apologize for taking this long to send an update. I've been on the comments replying to people, but I've been uncommunicative on my Discord, and I was too guilty about my unexplained break to post an update until now. That was irresponsible of me and I honestly regret it.

I ended up taking a very long break from Saltworld because of the job I got, but my contract ended just two weeks ago and I'm very happy to say that I'll be financially secure for the next two years with my savings. Because of that, I won't be looking to work the same way anymore, and am now focusing fully on writing. I got in my own way for a while and I've stumbled plenty over the last year, but now I'm in a good enough place to focus on my goal of becoming a full-time author again.

I've been slowly working on Saltworld over the time I was employed, and I'm currently in the process of rewriting it. The changes I've made are mostly towards the system, in order to address the janky power system and Sen's admittedly bullshit Ability. It seemed fine while I was writing it, but now that I've distanced myself from Saltworld, it's a pretty unsatisfying power in hindsight. Especially for readers.

So I've fixed it! And also made the system much better in the process by asking other authors for help and advice over the course of my break. Or so I hope.

Either way, I'm liking the shape the story is taking after the changes, and I'm looking forward to making a return to RR.

I'll relaunch Saltworld sometime around late January to February once I have a big backlog of chapters set up for release, so I'll see you all then!

I'm happy to answer any questions in the comments and on Discord as well. Feel free to @ me there and I'll reply as soon as I see it. It's been a busy month with me getting my life together again, but things are looking great. I'm gonna be happy to launch Saltworld chapters on RR again once I come back.

1st of February Edit Update:

Building up the chapter backlog is in progress! Currently aiming for 28 chapters in my backlog before relaunch, and my beta readers are currently going through the first batch of chapters I've sent them. Release of the rewrite will come out this February like planned!

1st of March Edit Update:

I am: a lot slower now. Moreso than I thought. The backlog has increased, but it's not at 28 just yet. I considered relaunching with the fifteen I have right now, but it seems like a bad idea and a quick ticket to burnout if I rush the next 13 chapters over the next few weeks. So for now, I'll be working my way to 28 and relaunching when I reach it, just to be sure that things go as smoothly as possible. Please wait a bit longer! I'll keep up communication and update things here.

1st of April Edit Update:

This one's a day late, but hey. Better late than never. Hi. I've been sick and it's not been fun. I thought it might've been COVID for a few days, but no—it's just a stupid cough and a stupid cold and my dumb, stupid immune system not doing its work.

Anyway, you guys are here for story updates, so I'll say this: I'll be posting the first couple chapters of this new version this month here, but not relaunching yet. I've reached a point in the story where it's become very tempting for my perfectionist ass to rewrite everything all over again despite having written something I'm perfectly fine with, so I'll be posting the new chapters here as both a teaser, and as a way to lock myself into this current draft. It'll also be a good update so that you guys keep up with how it's going.

I'll be releasing the chapters after my family trip this holy week, so see you guys then!

1st of June Edit Update:

Dad went through some surgery recently and some issues came up that made me relapse back into some bad, reclusive habits, but I wanted to get my shit together quickly. So hi. I'm still here, still working on Saltworld. Finished a chapter last night after a lot more effort than it should've taken, but I barely wrote last month and now I'm working on getting back on track again. Going back to college soon, too, so life is looking okay.

This is taking me way longer than I want it to, but I've not given up on things. I'll keep updating until I'm ready for release, so please be patient for a little longer. And thank you.
