Chapter 1

It was a warm day, and there was a slight breeze. Trees greener than any Jacob had ever seen on Earth surrounded him. In fact, if it wasn't for the... thing... chasing him, it would have been a pleasant day. 'It' was a short, skinny green creature with wrinkled skin. It looked like a 300 year old green midgit that picked up a sharp rock and decided to attack random people.

Just a little while earlier, Jacob woke up in the forest with little memory before he and his ship had blown up. He had no idea if anyone else survived or how he ended up here. Honestly, he couldnt even remember if there *was* anyone else on that ship.

While he was thinking about these things, this ugly creature had turned up and tried stabbing him, forcing him into the situation he was in now. As he ran, Jacob searched for something, anything, that he could use to escape the midget.

A little ways ahead, there was a relatively low hanging branch, just barely in reach.Hoping it would be enough to hold his weight, Jacob jumped and reached for the branch. As he quickly pulled himself up, the midget had caught up and now was loudly screaming wordlessly as it angerly slashed its crude dagger at the air above him, trying in vain to slice Jacobs feet.

As Jacob looked down towards the creature, he noticed a few small guis. One was over the midget's headhead.

Goblin lvl 2

Hp 8/8

The other seemed to hover in the top right of his vision no matter where he looked until he focused on it. When he focused on it, it would move to the center of his sight and expand a little.

Now, Jacob did play rpgs quite a bit, so he immediately understood what these gui's meant, what he didn't understand is why. Why were these here? Why was a goblin trying to murder him? And, more importantly.. What now? He was stuck in a tree with a murderous goblin trying to cut it down via a sharp rock.

Breaking a small branch off the tree, he threw it down at the goblin. Suprised, the goblin didn't react in time before the stick landed on it's head, causing it to fall over with a pained shout. In small, barely visible letters, a red '-3' could be seen briefly over the goblin head before it silently vanished.

The goblin, now enraged, threw it's crude dagger up the tree. It whistled by Jacobs face, as he narrowly avoided it before it struck the trunk of the tree with a loud thunk. As the now disarmed goblin reached down to grab a nearby rock, Jacob jumped out of the tree and onto the goblin's back, driving it to the floor and further removing another 4 HP. Quickly, before it could retaliate, Jacob punched the back of the goblin's head, dealing 1 damage and finishing the goblin off.

*ba-ding*

The sound rang through Jacobs head as a small window briefly popped into his vision.

Congrats!

As soon as the window appeared, a small copper coin appeared just above the newly deceased goblin's head and fell unceremoniously on top of the goblin. As soon as Jacob stopped paying attention to the window, it vanished. Jacob grabbed the coin before he stood up and began walking. He didn't really have a particular destination. He just wanted to leave this forest, and to do that, he would have to walk. Of course, as he walked he would be careful to watch out for any more goblins or other monsters that might want him dead.
