Chapter 181 - Vol. 3 - Chapter 46

***

Mathias along with his teammates, and the Knights led by Trian, the knight with the highest level from the 12, started their new journey going deeper into the tunnels of the goblins which didn't have any source of light, just Mathias's Arcane Power that was like a dim lantern because he didn't want to attract the whole attention of the monsters lurking down in those tunnels.

Nevertheless, inside the narrow tunnels, there were placed goblins to act like scouts and barriers placed in a way to block the access of unwanted visitors.

[Goblins - LV. 106]

Even their level increased as he and the group descended down the tunnel from the initial LV. 70-80 the Goblins had at the start of the Cave System it now jumped to increase the difficulty of the Dungeon Raid.

"It seems those monsters got stronger by a bit. But it wouldn't make much of a difference now. Sera, Bernard, Eric you keep to the same coordinated attacks. I will be the DPSer and Supporting key member." mentioned Mathias, seeing the goblins rushing toward them with various weapons in hand.

"Lord Octavian, what about us?" asked Trian followed by the 11 Knights ready for Round 2 against those monsters who attacked their motherlands.

"Sure, if you want to help us. I will be glad to have you participate. Talk with Sera about how you could help her team, and if you agree to it, go ahead and slaughter how many Goblins there come in our way."

"Understood."

Trian later on using decently fast steps appeared next to Sera, asking her how his contingency could be of any help, to which the brown-haired woman showing her abilities as a leader, was quick to guide Trian on a simple role.

They were full-build DPSers

With their high level, how couldn't she not see how advantageous and easy to clear this Dungeon becomes, and it truly was how she and Mathias envisioned it.

Nevertheless the work the group had to do, whenever they would pass each blind-sighted corner in the Tunnel, they would have to deal with large groups of Goblins sprawling into action at first sight, as if they could sniff out the scent of their dead comrades on the group of humans.

Such that with overclock work in order to eliminate the goblins, which made Mathias think with a sarcastic undertone.

'I feel like I am eradicating an infested barn with rats. It's no different from some of the works I've seen when I was younger, just that we used poisons back then.'

'Now I have to use my sword and spear to butcher those fucking monsters that popped up quicker than even rats could possibly multiply.'

{Take the good side of this challenge of butchering those goblins.}

'And what could that be, besides making it boring for my mind?'

{Repetition, lad. It gives you a chance to repeat most of the basics you've learned and those that I taught you in the past. Only by using your techniques in action, in a real situation, would you be able to develop further into your future version.}

Mathias could agree with what Haycien had to say, yet his eyes still become colder and colder with each new tunnel section he had to pass, being required to spend most of his time since returning in Satisfy to slaughter the pestering Goblins that sprawled on his and the group whenever they would step in their new domain, without even a fear of dying.

He and Trian worked shoulder to shoulder, sizing how efficient in killing those monsters were, and the Knights watching their Captain and this adventurer with Crimson-Hair could notice and get surprised by the skills showcased in the slaughter-fest.

Even Sera, Bernard and Eric managed to impress the Knights who were pleased by how courageous they were in fighting the goblins, and the fact they were willing to rescue their Young Lord.

Trian who would usually check on Mathias, couldn't help but think of a blonde younger who had a still immature appearance in his eyes, but who would always impress him with the speed of developing in his swordsmanship and fighting arts.

'This person's techniques clearly look far more developed than Young Lord Riannon. Still, the young lord is young and has a large window of development, especially after experiencing such a deep loss against that green abomination.'

'Also, for some reason, I feel far better being accompanied by those 4 adventurers, who are so willing to fight to the death against the green monsters.'

The group who would usually only encounter most of the time finally reached a deeper section where in the mix were added some Champions, one or two sprinkled to make the encounter far harder for the players.

[Goblin Silver Champion - Elite - LV. 130]

And top if off, their levels were also increased considerably since the first Champions who were more like the lowest of the bunch, clearly signified by their in the naming.

"Now, let's mix it up to the strategy for dealing with Champions. Storm the biggest one, and later on, we'll deal with the bugs." called out Mathias who watched everyone working alongside him.

"Lord Octavian, would you allow us to take on that big green vermin?" asked Trian watching the Goblin Champion with a lot of fighting spirit inside of himself.

"Are you sure? He might look weak from a distance, but I am sure he can punch a lot harder than you."

"I am certain, Lord. We'll prove it to you." responded Trian in full confidence, making Mathias to only smirk a bit, later on nodding at the Knight's request, who stormed into action like a pack of hunting hounds.

All of the twelve knights had full coordination and connection with themselves that it made Sera, Bernard and Eric to be amazed by this newfound stratagem in fighting in teams.

@Bernard: Oyy, Eric, doesn't this remind you of Football formations?

@Eric: Yea, it reminds me a little bit about those formations. The striker is that guy Ellyron from how things look. The young knight who is level 159, is for sure a Blademaster from what his sword skills look like.

@Sera: Guys, you better watch those Knights and learn something. It will help us in the future

The party of three talked in the general party chatbox, and Mathias could only agree with them, giving his opinion about the young Knight who shined bright in this fight against the Goblin Champion, dealing some massive cuts on the broad body of the monster.

@???: That Ellyron is a character with a future in this world. The silver and golden frame signify this, being the characteristics of a Semi to Named NPC.

As the players took a break to watch the fight between the Goblin Champion and the rest of the Goblins acting like cannon fodder for the big one. The conclusion reached a conclusion with the 12 knights putting on a display of power for the players, and in doing so, also granting the players a small bus ride inside this High-Level Dungeon Raid.

Since the Knights entered into the fight, the tunnels were cleared rapidly and in about an hour of relentless fighting, Mathias and the group finally sensed they were approaching a larger chamber. Canceling out his Arcane Magic to not attract the attention of the goblins inside the chamber, he walked slowly toward the entrance of the new location, which to his and the rest's surprise, it was a room lighted by torches.

"How is it, leader? Should we approach?" asked Bernard, who watched Mathias approach closer and closer to have a better view of this whole chamber but without alerting the monsters.

"Wait, let me have a better look."

In saying that, he started scanning the whole area with his crimson eyes, mapping out in his mind the various buildings and monsters his eyes could pick.

From what could be said to be the Armory of the Goblins mentioned by Trian which had a rather serious protection around it.

His eyes sharpened when he noticed some large Wolves stopping and sniffing around, making him to step back so he wouldn't alert the wild beast which allowed itself to be ridden like a horse by the various goblins with another nameplate than the Goblin Champions.

[Goblin Commander - Elite - LV. 138]

[Dire Wolf - Elite - LV. 120]

@Bernard: What's wrong, leader?"

@???: Mhm, this will be annoying. This chamber brings us to the next stage of the Raid. There are 3 monsters named with their levels being 138-140 riding on some level 120 Dire Wolves, then you also have 4 Goblin Champions level 125 each, followed by 20 Elite Goblins level 105 each.

@???: They seem to be protecting the larger building at the center of the Chamber. So it should be the Armory mentioned by Trian.

@Sera: Do you want some help in thinking of a strategy to deal with those monsters?

@???: Let me think for now. With what I've seen from Trian's group, it wouldn't be complicated at all.

With Mathias already thinking about various strategies to tackle this new challenge, he had everyone to remain quiet and not make any suspicious sounds since the wolves could pick them from where they were hundreds of meters away from the actual battlefront.

'I will have Trian and the older Knights create a distraction for the Riders, to keep them preoccupied, while I have the younger Knights led by Ellyron assault on the Champions, then Sera, Bernard, and Eric will focus on the Elite Goblins, while I will watch over the entire chess board, appearing where there is trouble.'

'Does it sound like a sound plan, old Hay?'

{I guess, I don't even understand why you are stressing yourself so much over some vermins. They aren't that strong, you'll see when you engage them in battle. Goblins are weak compared to us humans. They use various dirty tactics and always fight their war like their cousins the Orcs with numbers instead of equal forces.}

{But I digress, you do you. If you need help, you know where to ask for help.}

'... Not helpful.'

With Mathias explaining the plan to the entire group, it didn't take long to get them into agreeing with him, especially for the younger Knight who noticed that Mathias was appreciating his skills, which soothed his arrogance a bit.

"This isn't an overcomplicated plan. So listen up everyone. The plan is like this, Trian, Alec, and Kalas will be taking on the Riders, but I don't ask you to use all your capabilities and risk anything, just drag on your fight before me and everyone will jump into your assistance."

"No problem with your decision, Lord Octavian." replied Trian, agreeing with the plan without much of a second thought, where similar could be said for the other 2 middle-aged knights who were level 162, respectively 163.

"Ellyron and the rest of the Knights will take on the Goblin Champions, with Ellyron being the leader of the group. What I ask of you is to take the fight seriously and kill those damned goblins as fast as possible so we could ulteriorly, end the Raiders or the simpler Goblins. Any problem with my decision? Ellyron?"

Watching this youngster, who had silver-gray hair with blue eyes, a strong physique, even though the gear he was wearing wasn't matching, he was wielding a longsword in his hands, which could be a threat to anyone, he could see some surprise in his eyes.

"Me?"

"Yeah, you. You don't want to? There's no problem if you decline, I can pick another one to lead the group."

"Well, of course, I will accept. It's my duty to take care of my brothers in arms."

It is something common for a true leader to know how to deal with various people according to their personality.

Nodding at the youngster, who could be said to be about the same age as him, he, later on, turned at Sera and her group, and before he could say what the plan for them was, Sera was ahead mentioning it to him.

"We know our job. We'll deal with the smaller Goblins. As for you, you'll watch over our backs so we don't die."

"About right." added Mathias with a small smile on his dignified appearance.

Done with the strategizing and planning, in an instant with Trian taking the charge followed by the other two middle-aged knights, they stormed over to attack the Riders, who suffered the initial burn of the unexpected charge.

Stepping in retreat while riding the Dire Wolves, the Goblin Commanders who noticed how Ellyron came from the darkness to attack the Goblin Champions who were about to reinforce them, followed by Sera, Bernard and Eric attacking the Elite Goblins.

"Y-Y-OU HHUMAN! WILL PAY FOR ATT-ACKING THE PROUD KARASHAR TRIBE!"

The voice of the goblin who looked to be the one in charge of the Chamber began to voice out all sort of profanities that were like the swearing of a child, later on shifted his attention on the only woman in the group of males, pointing out at her, and telling her with a lot of desire.

"HUMAN WOMAN! ONCE I KILL ALL THOSE HUMAN VERMINS, I WILL CATCH YOU AND LATER ON IMPREGNATE YOU!"

Sera stopped for a brief moment giving the larger goblin that was about the size of a smaller-sized human, couldn't help but retort back, only to be surprised when Mathias appeared before her with an enveloping her and himself.

"Focus, don't bother yourself with what some dying bug has to say. It's like taking in consideration what an ant might have to say to you. We are in different worlds of reality compared to some bug."

"... Thanks. I will not get absent-minded again."

"No problem. Just have some fun in killing those bugs." remarked Mathias after a small sinister chuckle, as if he had the time of his life in slaughtering all those goblins, numbering about 70 of them.

Trian and his small team charged again at the Goblin Riders, forcing their wrath on themselves, while Ellyron was already storming the Goblin Champions, causing a lot of damage from the get-go, cleaving from some of the monsters about 20% of their HP, while Sera and her team were holding their own against the 60 normal goblins, but they weren't alone in this fight since Mathias would use his Arcane Missiles to push back the goblins getting to closer on them.

Once Sera and the other two understood their role, acting like a distraction while the strong guns were dealing with the hardest challenges, they braced for the goblins who descended on them in a chaotic manner.

"Hold! Don't get distracted and stay in formation!" shouted Mathias who noticed how the Goblin Champions organized successfully to deal with the nine knights.

"YES LORD OCTAVIAN!" shouted the Ellyron who started respecting Mathias for the wisdom and military prowess he was showing, that even the middle-aged Knights shouted in a disciplined way, as if they were once again youthful Knights, following under their Liege.

Mathias didn't take into consideration the fact that those brain-dead goblins would actually have some sense of organizing themselves, making it harder for himself, who was on 25% MP resources and 62% HP. He found it harder to clear this level of the dungeon and to not lose any of the knights who started being pushed back he had to decide.

'Huh, I have no reason to hide my powers.'

'Even if those 3 talk about my powers, they don't know my name to make it harder for me to move around.'

'The biggest weakness of those goblins is their weak magic resistance.'

Taking deep breaths as he took his heartbeat to a slow rate, while he closed his eyes to concentrate, with Haycien's curious remark, his black Victorian Dress started being veiled by a coat of Dark-Purple Energy.

{Show them, son. Let them bask in the power of the True Saharan Heir.}

Mathias started challenging a lot of his Arcane Power concentrating it in his body that he started going Overdrive by charging too much, feeling his body being set ablaze in the process, but once the Goblins got into his range before they could even attack the Knights and Players.

A shocking event for everyone in the chamber arrived.

"LORD!"

Ellyron, who saw Mathias appear in the center of the Goblin formation, shouted thinking this crimson-haired guy was attempting to sacrifice himself to help them.

Yet? A cold tone resounding in the entire chamber spread along with an explosion of magic, which sent a dark-purple shockwave so strong it sent the knights and players backward to the floor.

"Arcane Explosion."

[Critical!]

[You have dealt 10250 AoE damage to all enemies in the spell Radius!]

With such a strong magical spell that the players nor the knights ever encountered in their life, seeing how all of the goblins were blasted all over the chamber, even 2 of the Goblin Raiders were sent flying off their Dire Wolves.

Mathias who reached about 5% MP after the 'Arcane Explosion' still remained strong in his feet like a domineering king taking his soldiers to clear victory.

"Now it's our chance to take back the Offense and end this fight! Destroy the vermin!"

"YES, MY LORD!"
