Sage of glass
Sacrifice it all

Sacrifice it all

What lay beyond the gates was what looked like a throne room, twenty pillars stood, made out of the same material as the walls and floor.

"Obsidian."

Sitting on the throne was a black figure; four black horns crowned its head; four black wings sprouted from its back; four burning eyes were the only features adorning its face. its body is shaped to look like armor.

the sage called upon his armaments of glass, responding in kind the elemental commanded the room

All of it shifted into blades and spikes, all of which launched with incredible speed towards the human in its domain.

The sage summoned glass sheets to act as footholds and others made with dwarven glass to act as shields and a glass plate covered in detailed runes that was thrown in a seemingly random direction.

Yet despite the sage's best efforts, the attacks of the elemental passed through the dwarven glass like it is made of butter.

But that was the expected outcome as the first blade is about to pierce into him, he disappeared, taking all the obsidian blades with him, only to reappear atop the thrown plate with all the obsidian blades pointed towards the elemental.

With break-neck speed, they fly towards it, the sage has managed to take temporary control of the obsidian, the blades and spikes hit the elemental smashing into it.

The once boredom filled eyes of the elemental turned wrathful as its weapons were used against it.

It stands off of its throne and flaps its four wings moving at extreme speeds along with more than a million blades and needles alongside it.

The sage responds in kind making glass wings and summoning a sword made of metallic glass, the only of its kind painstakingly made by the sage himself, his most reliable weapon, and many blades of other kinds of glass, that he plans on only using for praying.

And so, their clash began in earnest

The sage filled a hundred blades with his mana and used one of his original spells

[To you I offer my mana, come to my aid knights]

These blades condensed and became swords and shields, moving now completely autonomously they berry and protect him from the elemental’s obsidian while he and the elemental move to close-quarters combat.

The elemental’s fighting style was brutal, every slash of its claws, every flap of its wings, were like the synth of the death god.

Yet despite the heart of the sage being gripped with terror, he did not lose hope, one thought of his wife was enough to reforge his will into one of steel.

the swings of his sword were steady and full of power, deflecting and cutting his enemies attacks,

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

and so the elemental grew frustrated, its attacks becoming faster and faster, his blades bushing harder and deeper into the glass of the sage, it increased the number of its obsidian blades and the sage could do nothing he knew that he was outclassed. the best he could do against the elemental was slow it down.

and so it happened, a blade hit his side with such force it took him off his feet and into the air, only stopping when the blade hit the pillar. Hundreds of blades followed impaling the sage into the pillar, ripping him apart.

He knew his time has come, but if he is going to die it's going to be on his terms, and so he gambled

He offered his everything to the powers at be, his blood, his soul, his flesh, his magic, the memory of the world of him, and his memories of it, his emotions. All of it gambled for one chance to meet his wife once more. The elemental shattered like a wine glass and the sage ceased to exist,

He finds himself in front of a council of 4 gods, the God of law, the goddess of love, the God of battle, and the God of Chaos

The God of law was annoyed, the goddess of love was smiling with joy, the God of battle was laughing with the God of chaos.

” Mortal, do you understand why you are here?” asked the God of law and order

 ” Yes, I believe I do.”

” Yes, he says,” says the God of law feeling tired

”AhAAHAA THIS, HUMAN IS Outsmarting THE GOD OF LAW HAHAHAHAHA.” laughed the chaos God.

"The reason you are here is that you nationally caused a paradox. If you successfully defeat the guardian and the manifestation of your element, you will be granted a wish. yet you sacrificed your existence to defeat it. with no imprints inside the world that direct to you and no hire to the wish, a paradox is created, which is that no wish is to be left ungranted. and so we were forced to bring you into this realm for your wish to be granted from beyond the grave. do you understand?"

"yes you said it yourself your divinity, this was all intentional"

”wish it mortal and leave my sight”

”I am honored.” said the sage "I wish for infinite wishes”

”Do not push your luck mortal.” said the God of law angrily.

Knelt the sage” I apologize lord of order.”

”Wish it already” Signed the God

” I wish for my truest and deepest wish to be fulfilled.” finally wished the sage.

”Finally, now out of my sight!”

light enveloped the sage, sending him back to the elementals throne room, still hung on the wall like a decoration.

he felt empty with nothing to anchor his mind to the physical realm he needs to enforce himself before his mind slips his body.

He breaks all the obsidian impaling him now that the elemental is dead, it became as fragile as it normally is, he crawls with a mangled body, towards the corps of the elemental, digging through the rubble he finds it, a crystal made of pure glass mana holding the essence of the elemental.

(Yes, this will work.)

He grasps it and begins to absorb and digest it.

His body started rotting and dissolving, leaving behind a young boy, black hair similar to obsidian’ black eyes darker than the night.

” ahhhhh I feel 1000 years younger “

Spoke the sage now full of youth

He got up, and looked at himself, buck naked,

“Let's see” he started concentrating, his magical sense across the room, only to find it incredibly easy to move the room to his whims.

He moved some of the obsidian around him into microtubes making elegant ropes out of them.

Now with his body covered he turned his attention inside it, he quickly found out that he no longer had vanes or blood for that matter, Nether did he have a nervous system, everything turned into glass, he tried changing the structure of it and he easily changed his body into obsidian, and as easily into metallic glass

”Seems I have become an elemental myself.” He wondered out loud.

”O well it doesn't matter.”

And so, he started shaping his insides, drawing runes and magic circles making bones of metallic glass and neurons made of fiberglass Optics.

He smiled now feeling comfortable in his new skin.

”Now my love I am coming”

He moved behind the throne finding a new door

Behind it was darkness and what seemed to be a crack In space, taking a deep breath he left the world he was born in and went into the crack.
