In a war torn world, there were 2 opposing forces who fought endlessly to gain the powerful resources and control over the world. this war is so intense that it divided the world into half, one force controlling one half. the first powerful force is the Queendom of gaia,led by a strong but childish queen, where it's citizens use powerful and mystical items called relics to fight. these relics are a mystery to even the people of gaia , relics choose their owners instead of the owners doing the choosing. Gaia got the prosperous side of the world, where they are able to live peacefully with nature's beauty.
The other force however, the empire of Machina, is led by strict and cold king, who rules with an iron fist over his people. the people of Machina do not fight with relics, as they are not compatible with them. instead they use runemetal , a durable but strong ore to create weapons and machines in their efforts to overthrew Gaia and claim their resources. Machina got the rather polluted side of the world, however the people of Machina worked their way around this with powerful and sophisticated technology using runemetal as their main source of life.
the origins of their clash are still shrouded in mystery. Soon the goddess Celestia could not bear anymore to see the two forces fight one another , so she created 8 infants and infusing them with the 8 legendary birds. one for each infant. the legendary phoenix of ice, the powerful garuda of fire, the wise owl of nature, the swift falcon of lightning, the strong eagle of earth, the elusive crow of darkness , the proud peacock of wind, and the brave sparrow of light , all choose their preferred infants. in addition to the legendary birds, each infant is granted invincibility to anything, and will naturally be highly skilled at fighting. however , though they are invincible, when the time comes, they will die. 3 of the infants will be able to use relics, and the other 3 will have to rely on Runemetal as additional weapons, while the remaining 2, will only react to a certain relic/Runemetal at a certain point. the 8 infants are then scattered into random parts of Gaia/ Machina. they will grow up to be extremelypowerful beings , their task is simple. in their process of growing up in that world, the 8 infants are to judge whether that world is worthy of existence. as in 18 years time all 8 infants will gain the power enough to annihilate this world and any destroy any relic or runemetal in their way.However the memory of this infants are wiped out, and they will regain them as they grow older.

18 years later rather than being afraid of the 8 infants, both the people of Gaia and Machina saw the silver lining of this test. they wish to harness the abilities of the 8 infants and their power of invincibility in their war efforts. the 8 infants are then given the name undeads due to their invincibility and are hunted down endlessly. though the efforts of both forces are great, they only confirmed one of the undeads. the boy with the long silver hair which he ties in a ponytail, green eyes, carries a wooden sword, and is unparalled in terms of combat , devilish smile , ryo yuki. sadly ,though ryo is searching for one thing he desires most,his past.
Many bounty hunters from both sides , machina or gaia, relic or runemetal, have tried to go to claim ryo and turn him to their king/queen in other to help their war efforts. sadly all was vain, since though ryo could nether wield relics nor runemetal, he shows no need for any of them, as he is skiled and has defeated and slain many warriors and hunters standing in his path.
One day, a run of the mild hunter from the machina side , anna rosenburg, decides to try her luck in hunting ryo, though she failed rather miserably. though she did not catch ryo, she still claims tht she does and took interest in ryo, and tags along with ryo, who is on his journey to find his purpose of living and possibly ending the eternal feud of gaia and machina in the process.
