Synopsis
The world as we knew was Ruptured, reality burst open and fused with others.
One moment your eating breakfast, the next half of your family is thrown between worlds where anything is possible, apart from escape. Eldritch horrors, living tools, breathing nightmares, organisms mutated to the point where even echoes of their past are lost, broken worlds of infinite possibilities and the rules are more fickle than human beings. Anything you can think of, anything you can't, it's all here with you, most likely breathing down your neck before you're even there.
But this story isn't about the initial struggle of the survivors, no, this is a story of broken people finding safety from the chaos, returning to order in their disfigured forms. How do you fit into order when all you've known is chaos? How can others accept you when they can't even imagine a glimpse of what you've seen?
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
This is my first time writing anything that isn't a document for a project, so reviews and feedback are very welcome.
This story is both a way of thinking about topics and exploring various perspectives and thoughts around them, alongside giving me a narrative to write in, because I've always wanted to write.
Warning
This story will get very dark at times and will often dive into sensitive topics. I will give a warning for dark content in the notes, as the topic may make some people very uncomfortable, but I will most likely put it under a spoiler tag or something in case anyone doesn't want any form of spoilers which may hint to the story.
