[Ship Leader POV]
Why did something have to already be at the planned landing site? I mean, the chances of it happening were more that 1 out of 3 but still. Hopefully no one dies from the beast. I’ll move the landing site to farther down the coast, hopefully whatever it is won’t come after us. God, I hope it doesn’t. We’ll still have to get to the treasure somehow though. If everything goes well, we get the treasure and back to Faeon alive.
[Cipher POV]
The ships started to head farther down the coast. I left the house a few days ago, I ride on Arcturus for an hour a day and then set up camp for the night. Arcturus is much faster than these ships, so I don’t need to ride for long. I estimate they should land in a few hours. No way to tell for sure. I could just use my [Flight] skill/spell thing to fly over but I don’t want to scare them.
5 hours later…
The ships landed! They’re on a small beach and also sent out a scouting party to see if the area is safe for the night. At least, that’s what I assume was the purpose of that party. I’m slowly walking toward them and they should notice me about now…
“Hey! Who are you?” [Leader]
“My name is Cipher.” [Cipher]
“What are you doing out here?” [Leader]
“I’ve been here for about seven months or so. You?” [Cipher]
“Seven months? By yourself? You must be level 3000!” [Leader]
“Nah, just level 27. But nevermind that. Why are you here?” [Cipher]
At this point Cipher was debating to just kill the dude and fly in a random direction. With Arcturus of course.
“What?!?!? Level 27?!?!? How are you even alive?!?!? Oh sorry, we are here to find a treasure for our king. Don’t even think of taking it from us. We all are over level 100 so don’t try to mess with us.” [Leader]
“Don’t worry. I won’t try and take it. Also, as a side question, what is your highest stat?” [Cipher]
“........” [Leader]
“It’s fine if you don’t want to say it, I just don’t know exactly how strong I am.” [Cipher]
“My highest stat is Strength, with 900 points in it!” [Leader]
“And how would you rate yourself in power? I’m interested.” [Cipher]
“I’m stronger than any civilian, that’s for sure! I am the Royal High Knight’s personal trainer, so between the top and the middle, but closer to the middle” [Leader]
Cipher thought for a bit. He could easily kill this man. But should he? Not for something weak like humanity, he lost that when he reincarnated. His body was different from many other human he had ever seen. No, it was because this man might be useful in the future. He decided not to.
“Do you mind if I come on your ship back to wherever you came from.” [Cipher]
“Sure, but first tell me your highest stat.” [Leader]
Cipher invoked a spell he learnt before this, just in case.
“{Silent Barrier}” [Cipher]
“What was that for?” [Leader]
“What I’m about to tell you is bigger than anything you’ve done with your worthless little life. My highest stat is Intelligence.” [Cipher]
“So? That doesn’t warrant a silent barrier.” [Leader]
“I have 777,777,777 points in it.” [Cipher]
Those few words shut him up. He looks shocked, then sad, then angry.
“Don’t you lie to me child. You know that isn’t true.” [Leader]

“Wha……” [Leader]
The sight blows his mind.
“Now, this cannot be shared with anyone. OK?” [Cipher]
“Dear god… How is this even possible? Are you using a status screen faker?” [Leader]
“What’s that? Well, thanks for the info, I guess. So, is that a yes to coming with you?” [Cipher]
“Yeah, but we need to find the treasure.” [Leader]
“What’s it look like?” [Cipher]
“A golden ring, with some runes running along the band.” [Leader]
“Oh, you mean this?” [Cipher]
I take the trash ring I found six months ago around my finger.
“Yes! Can I have it?” [Leader]
“Sure, the Intelligence bonus on this thing is worthless to me.” [Cipher]
He grabs for it but I spin away and continue.
“How much will you pay me for it?” [Cipher]
“50,000 gold.” [Leader]
His answer is at least semi-truth.
“How much will it sell for in a auction house? I’m guessing five times as much.” [Cipher]
“Close. But right now, we’ll give you 100,000 gold for it.” [Leader]
“Meh, good enough.” [Cipher]
He tosses me a very big bag and I throw him the ring.
“Pleasure doing business with you”
I walk back to the treeline.
“Come on out Arcturus”
He happily trots out and gives me a big lick.
“Holy Khamis what is that?” [Leader]
“He’s my mount pet thing!” [Cipher]
“Really? That? Fine, we have room.” [Leader]
“Arcturus, lay down!” [Cipher]
He lays down and I curl up next to him. This has been a good day.
I mumble into Arcturus’ fur
“Open RCLS”
[Open]
“Summon item Bed with Sheets”
A bed lands in my arms as I put it down next to Arcturus, close the RCLS and fall asleep.
[Ship Leader POV]
Thank god I didn’t piss him off. There’s nothing that can fake a status screen but he believed me. Either way, he’s dangerous. Hope he doesn’t find out I cheated him. That ring could have sold for millions and he sells it for 10,000. He must really have forgotten civilization to be that giving. I like him though. Think I’ll go with him when this mission ends. A soldier bursts in.
“Sir, the new guy summoned a bed and took a nap! Should I kill him?” [Soldier]
“No, you idiot! The dagger will bounce right off! The king will have your head either way!” [Leader]
“Really? He’s that dangerous? I mean, no disrespect and all, but he’s only level 27. I can take him.” [Soldier]
“Tell everyone that if they touch him, they lose their heads.” [Leader]
He leaves, scared half to death. His leader is not to be messed with, never mind the 400 level difference.
The next day…
[Cipher POV]
What’s this? Everyone’s staying away from me? Nevermind, don’t need them. I run and jump as high as I can and realize I can jump over the entire camp with only a one meter run distance.
I spend the rest of the morning jumping back and forth, as the rest of the camp wakes up, gets out of their tents and openly gape in awe of the speed I’m going. I could go faster, but it will just end up like the time a month ago when I tried to go faster than the speed of sound. I ran for five miles then threw up. It’s just so disorienting. I land on the sea side of the camp then mind grab some water and start playing with it. I form it into a sword and grab it. I swing it around a bit and then try something new. I tried cooling down the water into ice. I could make a preset for this, but even saying Summon Preset {Iceblade} takes time. The temperature fluctuates a bit before slightly lowering as the water starts to freeze over. The process continues until the blade is frozen solid. I grab the hilt, not feeling the temperature due to my infinite endurance. I swing it around a bit, getting a feel for both the blade and the structure of the blade so I can recreate it faster next time.
I destroy the blade and repeat the process until I can do it in about a second. To be fair, the blade is razor sharp, has runes along the length and has a fairly detailed crossguard.
“Open RCLS”
[Open]
“Add {Tag [Permanent]} to held item in {Left Hand}”
[Tag added]
Great! Now my sword is unsummonable and hopefully won’t melt!
“Summon Preset {Fireball}”
The fireball hovers above my hand as I move my blade over it. No drops fall off, so that means it’s good! I spend another few minutes adding tags to make this a blade of legends! Now it’s unbreakable, permanent, soul bound and razor sharp. All that soulbound does is make the item unusable by anyone except for me and makes it impossible to steal. Not much added I know, but I’m still learning how to use the RCLS. I make a simple sheath for it and harness so it can fit on my clothes. Ahh, being able to summon anything is great!
I swing it around some more, then realize something. I can still manipulate it with my skill, even if I can’t make it all disappear in one go.
“Close RCLS”
[Closed]
I walk back to camp, happy with my progress.
“Hey, do you know where the leader is?” [Cipher]
“N-no, b-but he s-s-should be in t-there” [Soldier]
I walk past him into the tent he indicated.
“Hello there, Cipher. What do you need?” [Leader]
“Nothing much, just wondering if you have some leather that I can work with. Also, what’s your name? I feel a bit weird just calling you Leader.” [Cipher]
“We have quite a lot of leather, it’s in the big tent in the middle of camp, as for my name, it’s Farlon.” [Farlon]
“Thanks! I’ll be back if I need anything else.”
As I walk out I notice some people looking at me with their hands on their swords. I pay them no more attention and keep on walking.
“Open RCLS”
[Open]
“Summon item Leather Working {Mastered} Skill Book”
The book lands in my open hands and I read it. I feel a small spike of pain as I continue walking to the storage tent. I go through the flap and look around for the leather. I spot it and rush over.
“Summon item Leather Working Tool Set”
I catch the wooden box out of the air and open it. A panel appears.
Notice!
Because you have the skill [Leather Working]
Mastered and you own/owned a box of mastercraft tools, you now have access to
[Leather Design Mode]
Open by saying “Open LDM”
Well that’s helpful. I sit down and lean against one of the crates. I stick my hand in the opened leather crate and take a deep breath.
“Open LDM”
The world fades to black and I feel, well, different.
I look down at my hands and see a menu on each.
“Oh, so it’s more like those new VR art programs”
I find the button to open schematics and a little search bar shows up. I type in leather hilt wrap. A few simple wraps show up and I pick the one that uses the least material. I look to see if I can summon my new sword in here. I use my water manipulation to pull it toward me and ta-da! My sword appears in my hand and I size the wrap to tightly fit around it. I then go back to the search bar and look up simple leather sheath. I immediately pick the first one I see. It’s perfect. It uses buttons to help keep it together.
Instead, I can use my ice sheath but thin it out, wrap the leather around that, then grow buttons from the sheath to keep the leather on. I make a ice outline of my sword and start the leather process. After about an hour, I'm finished. It's beautiful. I search up leather long sword back harness and find one that fits. I hit create and a panel pops up saying I can exit LDM now.
"Exit LDM"
My eyes slide open as I take in the world again. I step outside to see the soldiers packing up camp. I walk over to Farlon.
"Why are we packing up?" [Cipher]
"We only came here for the treasure, the ring, so now we’re leaving. Would prefer to have everyone make it back to Faeon.” [Farlon]
“Faeon? Where’s that?” [Cipher]
“Ah, it’s where we came from, the strongest continent! The Kingdom of Aegis is the main kingdom, with other small kingdoms spread throughout.” [Farlon]
“Great, should be fun. Is there anything I need to do to help?” [Cipher]
Cipher felt a need to help, after all, he had been doing nothing but using their supplies.
“Nah, should be done in half an hour, we’ll set sail then.” [Farlon]
I looked around, noticed a group of soldiers trying to lift 10 crates at once. They had a good idea, putting them all on one platform.I walk over and grab onto an edge and lift the whole thing up. It's decently heavy, some of the crates must have metal in them. The group faints from just the sight. I walk over to one of the more empty ships and gently put it down, move the crates off, and go back for more. The entire moving process speeds up so in five minutes, I run out of crates to move. Farlon isn't impressed while the soldiers are jealous.
"Leader probably gave him a item that boosts his strength. I could take him" [Soldier]
"Good job, Cipher. Let's go, shall we?" [Farlon]"
