Inside Wilt’s house at the hanger, Kay was resting on the cold floor. He was laid out on the floor, asleep with a pillow and covers. Though a heavy sleeper, he found himself grunting from discomfort for the first time on his life. He started to wake up, stretching out his sore limbs as he stood up from the floor.
“Ugh,” Kay groaned as he rubbed his back. “Sleepin’ on hard metal floors…not a good idea.”
Kay had to do some stretching exercises to get his body to feel a bit better. Once he wasn’t feeling discomfort, he checked the airship, gasping at what he saw.
The engine was finally finished. The Accel Arrow was ready to fly. Kay couldn’t help but smile at the job well done.
“Awesome!” Kay cheered, pumping his fists in the air before frowning. “But where’s Wilt?”
He wanted to see the Florian to share his joy with him.
He must be around the house somewhere, Kay thought. Gotta start lookin’ for him.
He walked around Wilt’s house, starting with the living room. The first thing that he saw was Trixta laying on a sofa, deeply asleep. She didn’t look as beautiful as she normally did because she had a bad case of bed hair. Despite this, he did notice that she was sleeping without issues compared to the poor amount of sleep he got last night.
Lucky girl, Kay thought, envying the vixen a bit for enjoying the soft comfort of a couch.
“Huh,” Kay scanned the living room with his eyes. “Xan isn’t here either.”
Xan was doing outside training. He was swinging his blades, practicing his swordsmanship.
He walked down the small hallway upstairs. He heard the noise getting louder as he got closer.
“Wilt?” Kay asked out loud. “You in there?”
“What?” Wilt’s voice came out from a room. “Kay? Uhh, come in…”
Kay walked into the room, curious to what Wilt was doing. It was a bedroom that was semi neat and semi cluttered with books and junks. The most notable aspect of it was the sight of Wilt at a desk, welding something with a soldering iron.
“Wow,” Kay smiled playfully at Wilt. “And I thought my room back home was messy.”
“Sorry,” Wilt didn’t bother looking at Kay, too immersed on his task. “Hadn’t had time to clean up much since I’ve been out of the house for a month.”
“Eh, no prob,” Kay shrugged his shoulder dismissively. “I hardly clean mine anyways. So whatcha doin’ there, Wilt?”
He punctuated his point by peeking behind Wilt. He noticed that the Florian was wearing some googles as he welded an odd-looking device.
“Finishing up something,” Wilt silently gestured at Kay to get back to prevent him from hurting his eyes by watching the welding spark. Kay silently did as he was told, giving Wilt the necessary time that he needed to finish. “Annnnnnndddddd…done!”
Wilt turned around and put the device around his wrist.
“Cooool…” Kay stared at the device with interest. “What is it?”
“It’s a Wrist Launcher Magus Gear,” Wilt excitedly pointed at different things in his room as if he was planning on using it. “I don’t have a name for it just yet though.”
“Magus Gear?” Kay frowned. “I heard that name before.”
He thought back to when he fought Vera. She’d been using a gun-like Magus Gear during their battle.
“You don’t know about Magus Gears?” Wilt asked, taken aback by Kay’s ignorance. “They’re like… They’re like…technological marvels! The perfect unification of science and magic! Almost every single device people use nowadays are considered Magus Gears! I’m surprised that you haven’t heard of them.”
“Well,” Kay put a hand behind his head sheepishly. “Stuff like that ain't commonplace in Mundaal, so I guess I never noticed.”
“Ah right, sorry!” Wilt stammered, feeling guilty about his outburst. “I forgot. Well, to put it simply, Magus Gear can come in plenty of types. Armament type Magus Gear are all weapons.”
“Like the one that Vera used against me?” Kay asked.
“Yes,” Wilt nodded, happy that Kay was understanding. “Then we have the Utility type Magus Gear that are used on everyday situations. We use this type of Magus Gear for cooking, energy sources, water irrigation, etcetera.”
“Ohhhhh…” Kay was amazed with what he learned. “That sounds awesome. So all those times that I flush my poop down the toilet and take showers was cuz of that?”
“Well,” Wilt frowned, wishing that Kay didn’t mention the toilet part. “That’s one way of putting it, but yeah.”
“So, gonna take that bad boy out for a test drive?” Kay pointed at the wrist launcher with a huge smile on his face, wanting to see what it could do.
“Well, yeah,” Wilt gave a weak smile in return, which became a worried frown. “Still not sure how well it will work. This is the first actual weapon type Magus Gear that I created.”
“Well, all the more reason to try it out, right?” Kay patted the Florian’s shoulders. “You’re a genius. I’m sure it’ll work out.”
“Yeah, of course I am,” Wilt puffed his chest proudly. His pride only lasted a few seconds before he sighed in disappointment. “But my dad…My dad was a real genius.”
“Ever since I could remember, my father always showed me his inventions. And if he made toys, he always used them to play with me.”
Several years ago, a younger Wilt was seeing a cool looking Airship toy flying around on the sky.
“How do you like that, son?” a reddish orange avian Korkin called out Wilt as he used a remote controller to fly it.
“Wow!” Wilt was delighted. “So cool!”
Hud Lilister smiled as he saw the smile on his son’s face. A smile spread on his beak as he went to the best part.
“Like it?” Hud asked as he did some tricks with the remote controller. “Just a little thing that I cooked up by using light aspect Astra singles to transfer into the toy and give it commands through the controller.”
“Coooooool!” Wilt hopped excitedly, understanding the scientific concepts that his father described to him in spite of his young age. “I wanna make that!”
“Sure!” Hud parked the airship on Wilt’s hands, who hugged the toy. “We can make a bigger one together someday when you grow up. But for now, get to studying!”
“Yes, Dad,” Wilt happily ran to the house to resume his studies.
“I loved my dad. But I wasn’t the only one. Everybody loved him.”
Hud was flying the Airship toy that he made for Wilt to everyone in town. They all started clapping at him.
Hud bowed to the townsfolk while Wilt stared at him with admiration.
“He wasn’t just intelligent. He was a fun dad too!”
“What’s that, Dad?” Wilt walked behind Hud to stare at what he was building.
“This is a generator!” Hud beamed with pride as he showed his son a small battery-looking generation that he was working on. “This can be used to power any Airship we want.”
“Awesome!” Wilt stated. “I can’t believe how sparkly it looks.”
“Wait, sparkly?” Hud asked, face grimacing in terror. “Oh, son? Run…”
Outside, some townsfolk were walking. Then they heard the windows of the house being blown out. The explosion was loud enough to be heard across all of Starkland.
“What the…!” one townsfolk exclaimed.
“Is Hud making some crazy contraption this early in the morning again? The mayor told ‘em to stop doing that.”
“Even when he messed up, he laughed it off and kept working at it.”
“Hahahahahaha!” Hud points at Wilt. “You’re covered in soot! You look like a used feather duster!”
“So are you, Dad!” Wilt laughed.
Father and son hug each other as they laugh for a while. Then they stand up and grab some brooms to clean up the mess.
“I looked up to him. He was my idol. But…”
Wilt was making a toy car using a battery Magus Gear.
“Look, Father!” Wilt shows the car to his dad proudly. “I made a…”
The toy car blew up, leaving his face covered in soot.
“Haha!” Hud burst out laughing as he used a napkin to wipe the soot off Wilt’s face. “Well, you know what they say. What doesn’t burn your face off makes you smarter!”
“Even I know that’s not a real saying!” Wilt pouted.
“I know, I just thought of it!” Hud started laughing.
Wilt puffed his cheeks angrily, but then a smile spread on his face. He joined his father in laughter. The memory ended with father and son sharing an optimistic laugh about their projects.
“I’m still way behind him when it comes to his work,” Wilt admitted as he finished his story. “But he never got the chance to finish his engine.”
“And thanks to you, his dream is about to be realized,” Kay pointed out with a smile as he stood up from the bed.
“Yeah,” Wilt enthusiastically responded. “So let’s actually put that engine into the ship!”
“Yeah!” Kay grinned and then put a hand on his stomach. “After breakfast!”
“Yeah!” Wilt cheered before frowning. “Afte-really?!”
The duo went downstairs to wake up Trixta so that they could have breakfast.
“What time is it?” Trixta asked.
“Still morning,” Wilt corrected her. “Out of the couch! I’ll make you Wilt Waffles!”
“Sweet!” Kay punched the air enthusiastically.
“Ugh,” Trixta got out of the couch, not even bothering to put on her sandals yet. “This better be one hell of a waffle.”
With the trio already awake, they went to the kitchen, ready to enjoy their breakfast.
“That was a good workout.”
Xan was walking around Starkland, drinking a soda can since there was no beer available at Wilt’s house. Since he finished his training and nobody was available to make breakfast, he decided to walk around town until he could find a place to eat breakfast and get a nice beer. To his dismay, Starkland had no bars and pubs that were open at morning.
“Man,” Xan took a sip from his soda. “I guess it’s too early to look for any places that serve drinks. Maybe I can buy a beer at some store. Hmm?”
Xan saw some rather shady looking individuals.
“Isn’t that?” Xan muttered before quickly hiding behind a building. He made sure to peek at the group so that he could eavesdrop them.
The Baron Brigade, Xan thought as he saw them walking around Starkland and talking with some of the citizens. What the hell are they doing here?
“Hey, you?” a Baron Brigade member pointed at a random local, showing him a picture of Wilt. “Have you seen this kid?”
This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it.
“Shit!” Xan hissed, realizing that Wilt’s location would be discovered since he was someone well known in Starkland. “This isn’t good!”
Better go tell the others about this! Xan thought as he sneaked his way out of the town and ran as fast as he could to Wilt’s house, hoping that they’d have enough time to run away before things could get ugly.
Been a while since I had a good breakfast, Wilt though happily as he sat with Kay and Trixta on the same table.
The trio were eating waffles that were made from a waffle iron many years ago. All he needed to do was put the waffle mixture and then the waffles were made.
“Wow,” Kay happily munched on the waffles, putting a little maple syrup on them. “These waffles are pretty good, Wilt!”
“Thank you, Kay!” Wilt puffed his chest proudly. “And I achieved this with Wilt’s Waffle Maker MK 7!”
“So it took you seven tries to get it right?” Trixta teased playfully as she ate from her waffle.
“O-of course!” Wilt replied defensively. “Science is all about trial and error. Besides, it’s harder to make cooking utensils compared to actual cooking.”
The door was suddenly kicked open as Xan entered the house. With a shriek, Trixta grabbed the knife she was using to cut her waffles and pointed it at Xan. Next to her, Wilt did the same with his waffle iron. For his part, Kay was more interested in eating his waffles, not minding Xan’s intrusion.
“Didn’t anyone teach you not to kick open doors when you are a guest at someone else’s house?” Wilt asked as he lowered his waffle iron and put a hand on his chest. “You nearly gave me a heart attack, Xan.”
“We got a problem!” Xan marched to the trio and stole a couple of waffles from them amidst their protests. “Some guys are looking for Wilt. Saw them a few minutes ago asking the folks around here if they know Wilt.”
“Already?” Wilt asked fearfully. “But how-oh…no.”
“What?” Trixta asked, feeling as scared as Wilt was feeling.
“The Info Dealer,” Wilt concluded. “Of course. They probably gave them my location info too. That’s how they were able to find me.”
“Ahh, well, that’s just great!” Trixta rolled her eyes. “And I didn’t even brush my teeth or did my hair!”
“How many guys did ya see?” Kay asked.
“Just three so far,” Xan answered. “We should wait here for them to show up to deal with them.”
“Oh, guys,” Trixta pointed at the window as she was fixing her hair. “I think they’re getting closer. They’re checking the neighboring houses.”
“Oh no,” Wilt paled in fear as he realized his neighbors were in danger. “That house. That’s where the Hedges live!”
“You mean that nice couple who greeted us at your house?” Kay asked.
“Yes,” Wilt nodded.
Clenching his fists hard, Kay left house, ready to defend the Hedges no matter what.
The Baron Brigade members walked up to a house. They banged the door hard several times. The door opened to reveal Ms. Hedges.
“Oh dear,” Ms. Hedges exclaimed upon seeing the brigade members. “How can I help you three?”
“You’ve seen this kid?” the leader brought out a picture of Wilt. “He lives here, yeah?”
Ms. Hedges looked at the seemingly menacing men. Her old mind started putting things together. She realized that these men wanted to hurt Wilt.
“Oh, I’m sorry,” Ms. Hedges apologized. “I’m afraid that he hasn’t been in town for some time. I’m sure that you can see him soon in a month or two.”
She gently closed the door, hoping that they turned around upon getting a negative response. But she was wrong about them.
The brigade member that asked her about Wilt kicked the door hard enough to open it. The sudden kick made Ms. Hedges fall to the ground.
“DROP THE FUCKING ACT, YA OLD BITCH!” the brigade member yelled as he picked her up by the collar.
“Every fucking asshole her said the same bullshit!” a second brigade member behind the first shouted, joining in on the accusation. “And I’m thinking you’re all hiding him.”
“P-please!” Ms. Hedges cries out with tears in her eyes. “We haven’t seen him.”
The leader of the trio dropped her to the ground as he pulled out a sword.
“Uhh,” Mr. Hedges cried out, seeing his wife in danger. He tried to stop him from hurting his wife, but the second brigade member pointed a Magus Gear gun at him.
“Don’t move unless you wanna get a few holes in ya!” he threatened.
“You either tell us where they the little green shit heel is at or your hubby is dead!” the sword wielding member pointed his sword at Ms. Hedges.
Ms. Hedges only answered with tears. He snarled and prepared to cut her down.
He didn’t get to do anything when he felt something strike him on the side. Before he could attacked, the man was dropkicked by a furious Kay, who ran up to them from their blind spots.
“Whoa, what the hell!” the third brigade member shouted, wondering what the hell was going on.
With a snarly, Kay turned around and kicked the gun wielding brigade member in the stomach, sending him flying away from the door. He then picked up Ms. Hedges and handed her to Mr. Hedges.
“Take her and lock the key!” Kay instructed before standing outside of the door, glaring down at the trio of brigade members that attacked them.
“Hmm!” Mr. Hedges nodded his head and closed the door, silently wishing Kay good luck against the brigade members that attacked him and his wife.
Kay stepped out to see the Baron Brigade members were recovering with the help of their friend.
“If you’re lookin’ for Wilt, I know where he is,” Kay told them. “You’re gonna have to beat me to get the answers though!”
“Hey, it’s that guy who was guarding the Florian kid!” the third member pointed at Kay.
“Ahh,” the sword wielding brigade member winced as he stood up. “So that’s it…Well, good thing we didn’t come here alone!”
“Huh?” Kay tilted his head. His ears tilted and he noticed that there were more Baron Brigade members behind him.
“You thought that we were the only guys that arrived in this town?” the brigade member asked mockingly. “We all just split up till we met up here. Now you’re gonna tell us where he is!”
“Well, unless I’m on my knees in a bloody mess, that ain’t happenin’,” Kay cracked his knuckles, refusing to let those elder-abusing monsters the satisfaction of defeating him.
“Then we can take our time to make you reconsider!” the brigade member swung his sword, not to attack, but to give a signal.
The newly arrived members rushed at Kay to attack him from behind. Suddenly, Xan showed up and cut the down as he met up with Kay.
“Desert Scale?” the swordsman brigade member asked. “Why is he here?”
“You really lack any hesitation!” Xan chastised Kay as he twirled his blades.
“The were in trouble,” Kay pointed out. “What can I say?”
“How about you give up,” the third brigade member suggested. “You’re outnumbered!”
“Hey,” the gun wielding brigade member pointed at Wilt’s house. “That house down there looks out of the ordinary.”
“Yeah,” the swordsman brigade member pointed out. “C’mon! The rest of you guys deal with him.”
“Hey!” Kay called out the trio and the extra members that they brought along to capture Wilt. “Your fight’s with us!”
Suddenly, one of the Baron Brigade members attacked Kay with a sword from behind.
He heard the clang of metal and turned around to see that Xan blocked the attack with his swords. With a snarl, Kay hit the brigade member with solid punch to the gut. The other members attacked the duo while the remaining half headed towards Wilt’s house.
Seeing no other choice, Kay and Xan fought off the Baron Brigade members, hoping to be fast enough to prevent the other half of the group from getting their hands on Wilt.
“Oh no,” Wilt panicked from his house. “They’re coming this way!”
The Florian ran upstairs, leaving Trixta alone at the window.
“Oye!” Trixta called out as she followed Wilt. “Where are you going?”
“Getting something!” Wilt cried out.
“Well, don’t leave me here!” Trixta went after him.
Outside of the house, Kay and Xan were taking down most of the Baron Brigade members as they started to work their way to Wilt’s house. However, every time that they made progress, they were interrupted by more members arriving.
“Jeez, these guys are stubborn!” Kay smashed the face of a grunt over his knee.
“Hey, you go ahead!” Xan suggested. “I’ll handle ‘em!”
“Oh,” Kay nodded, realizing it was a good idea. “Yeah, alright!”
With Xan offering to take on the brigade members, Kay was free to dart ahead while Xan covered him. He saw them trying to kick down the door. It was harder than expected, requiring multiple kicks to open compared to the door of the Hedges, but they still managed to get in.
“Eek!” Trixta squealed from inside the house.
“Trixta!” Kay called out as he started to pummel the brigade members who were entering the house.
“Stay back!” Trixta pulled her whip out as she backed away.
“I suggest you put that thing down and tell us where you’re keeping that green little shit,” the swordsman brigade member told Trixta. “Unless you’re into the rough stuff. Then we can do it the hard way!”
“Oh, you couldn’t handle me, niñito!” Trixta put on a brave face.
“We’ll see about that,” the brigade member twirled his sword.
Anytime you want to cut in Kay, now’s the time! Trixta thought desperately as she wished for Kay to come to her rescue.
Up above, Wilt was cowering behind the railing upstairs as he peeked at the scene.
Oh God… Wilt thought with fear. What can I do? I’ll get killed if I try to do something! Not like she was trustworthy anyway. All this for building a ship. For a stupid dream. Hmm!
His fear was replaced by a different image. It wasn’t the danger. It was a happy memory of his father building him an Airship toy models very often. The image of Hud creating replaced all of his fears as he recalled the true reason of his journey.
No, Wilt thought as he clenched his teeth. No. It’s not a stupid dream. He believed that he could achieve it. Even he would believe it if he were around to see it to fruition.
Feeling courage that he didn’t know he had, he made his way downstairs. The first thing that he noticed was that Trixta was swinging her whip around to keep the Baron Brigade members at bay. However, one of them was pointing a Magus Gear gun at her.
“Stop right there!” Wilt shouted as he pointed his wrist launcher Magus Gear at them.
The Baron Brigade members looked up at Wilt, who was standing at the guardrails.
“Well, you finally showed yourself!” the swordsman brigade member didn’t bother to look at Trixta anymore as he set his sights on Wilt.
“Your business is with me,” Wilt kept pointing at them. “Keep her out of this.”
Wilt walked down the stairs. He still kept his wrist launcher pointed at the brigade members that threatened Trixta.
“I know what you want,” Wilt told them, never letting go of his wrist launcher. “And I’m not letting you take away my dad’s dream.”
“Whatever!” the leader snorted, pointing his sword at Wilt. “We’ll bring you back kicking and screaming if we have to. And with the crap that you made us go through to find you, I hope you don’t mind if we rough you up a bit. Grab him!”
The brigade members ran towards Wilt as he readied his launcher.
“Good luck hitting me with that little toy!” a brigade member with a baton rushed at Wilt.
“Have a taste of a genius’ power!” Wilt pressed a button on his wrist launcher. “LEAD SHOT!”
A black projectile was shot out of Wilt’s wrist launcher. It struck the baton-wielding brigade member right on the gut, causing him to fall on his back and into his compatriots.
“Ugh,” the baton-wielding brigade member grunted in pain as he rubbed his stomach, feeling that he was shot with a bullet.
“How’s that for a toy, fool?!” Wilt taunted triumphantly as he pointed his wrist launcher at the rest of the brigade members.
“Wow!” Trixta was stunned at the destructive power of the wrist launcher that the Florian made. Not only that, Wilt’s courage also took her by surprise, never expecting him to get into a fight to save her.
“Trixta, run!” Wilt shouted at the vixen.
Snapping out of her shock, Trixta complied with Wilt’s order. She swung her whip, wrapping it around the ankle of one of the brigade members. She then pulled her whip, making her restrained foe fall on his back.
“I suppose I’ll help you out for a few seconds,” Trixta smiled, feeling generous enough to help Wilt despite her instincts telling her to run away.
An angry scream came from inside the house. Then Kay finally ran from the entrance, punching out of some of the brigade members.
“Sorry, guys!” Kay apologized as he started cracking some skulls. “Wasn’t expectin’ an army here!”
“Make it up to us by taking these pendejos out!” Trixta ordered as she started swinging her whip to contribute a little.
“You got it!” Kay grinned as he kicked one brigade member far away, elbowed another one that was standing behind him, and then sent another one flying with an uppercut.
With a grin, Kay summoned his shadow magic and went to work.
The fight turned into a complete annihilation once Kay used his powers. The bodies of the Baron Brigade members were shown flying out of the windows, breaking the glass and the doorway. All of them groaned in pain before passing out from their injuries.
Once Kay got rid of the invaders, him and Wilt ran outside with Trixta behind them.
“Uhh, sorry about the window,” Kay apologized to Wilt.
“It’s an easy fix!” Wilt panted, gesturing at Kay to run. “Not the first time the windows blew up here.”
“Dammit!” a large brigade member spat blood from a punch that Kay gave him. “These guys are insane!”
His point was proven when Xan finished the last of his opponents and joined the trio outside. With the four of them together, they prepared to end the fight.
“C’mon!” another member complained. “There’s just four guys! How is this happening?”
“It doesn’t matter,” the leader glared at them. “We’ve confirmed that he’s here and now he’s on his way.”
“Who?” Kay raised an eyebrow, wondering what he was talking about.
“Who else?” the leader rolled his eyes. “Our captain, the Baron!”
“What?!” Trixta exclaimed with dismay.
“Of course it’d be him,” Xan groaned.
“Who?” Kay asked, wondering about the identity of the Baron.
“He was a Reaver for a while,” Xan summarized everything he knew for Kay’s sake. “But he became a mercenary who hunted other Reavers. I’m assuming the Girasol Family hired them to get this kid after I fucked up.”
“You mean decided to be our friend?” Kay jokingly smiled at Xan.
“That wasn’t part of the deal,” Xan ignored Kay and focused his attention on the remaining foes.
“Enough bullshit!” the leader of the group exclaimed. “We’ll be back! Very soon, even if you try and leave, we’ll hunt after you! The Baron Brigade never lets a target escape!”
The Baron Brigade members then started walking away. Some of them were limping off from the injuries that they sustained after the battle.
“Well, that’s a morning workout,” Kay joked once the Baron Brigade members were out of sight.
Neither Trixta or Xan got to scold him because Wilt ran off to the Hedges family house out of concern for his neighbors. He knocked on the door repeatedly.
“Mr. and Ms. Hedges!” Wilt banged on the door desperately. “Are you okay?”
“Hoo-dear!” Ms. Hedges answered as she opened the door, not even rattled by what happened. “That was unpleasant.”
“Hmph?” Mr. Hedges chimed in.
“Yes,” Ms. Hedges nodded at Wilt. “We’re quite fine, Wilt!”
“I’m so sorry!” Wilt started apologizing as his guilt consumed him. “This wouldn’t have happened if I didn’t.”
His apologies were cut short when Mr. Hedges put his wing on his shoulder.
“Hmph,” Mr. Hedges nodded at the young Florian. “You can’t completely blame yourself for something like this. Besides, we would never turn on any of our people, especially you and your father.”
It was the truth. Despite being faced with the Baron Brigade, all of the citizens faked ignorance on Wilt’s arrival at Starkland, unwilling to sell him out like that.
“They,” Wilt started to tear up. “They really did that for me?”
“Man!” Kay put a comforting hand on Wilt’s shoulder to prevent him from crying. “The folks here sure are a good buncha people! You’re a lucky guy, Wilt.”
“Yeah,” Wilt sniffled with a smile. “I guess I am.”
“So, what are we gonna do now?” Xan chimed into the conversation. “Those guys are gonna come back in full force.”
“We’ll go and kick their asses!” Kay pounded a fist into his palm, ready for round two.
“And the townspeople get caught in the crossfire,” Xan pointed out.
“Oh,” Kay deflated instantly.
“He’s right,” Wilt wiped his face with his sleeve. “I already got them caught in this. I’m not going to let them ruin this town!”
“A nice sentiment,” Trixta put her hands on her hips. “But how are we gonna handle this?”
“No matter how you slice it, at the end of the day, the Baron Brigade is after me,” Wilt adopted a determined frown. “So we’ll use that to draw them away from the city. And not by Skydrome. Follow me, Kay! We got an airship to finish!”
“Hell yeah!” Kay pumped his fists and followed Wilt, ready to finish the Accel Arrow once and for all.
“You two buy whatever you may need,” Wilt instructed Trixta and Xan. “We’re leaving very soon.”
It took a couple of hours, but Kay and Wilt finished the engine. Meanwhile, Trixta went shopping for some food and provisions that the quartet were going to need. For his part, Xan picked up some new blades to prepare for the incoming fight.
“And there we go,” Wilt declared as he finished installing the engine inside of the ship. “Get inside, guys! We’re giving it a test run!”
Meanwhile, the Baron received a call from his crewmembers. Though they discovered the Florian, his satisfaction turned into anger when he realized that they’d been defeated in a fight.
“What do you mean you all lost?” Baron demanded angrily.
“That punk with the red scarf on his arm was with him,” the unlucky brigade member who made the call replied to him. “Even Desert Scale was backing them up.”
“Who the hell are these guys?!” Baron exclaimed angrily, surprised at how those two were able to defeat his men that easily. “No matter! We have their location. Meet us at the rendezvous point.”
Baron didn’t even let him reply as he hung up and got up from the captain’s seat.
“Set a course for Starkland!” Baron ordered his operators. “The Baron shall begin the hunt once more!”
“Sir!” the operators shouted in affirmative as they put the coordinates.
The large warship sized airship flew into the distance towards Starkland’s location, ready to capture its target once and for all.
Chapter 3 Act-B End
