I slowly raised my head, my whole body hurt like somone threw me against a wall. I try to stand up. Fighting the pain in my body, but as i carefully bring my body into a sitting position, i notice something my legs are...

Encased in stone?

I immediatly jump up only for my worst fear too come true, they really are covered in stone! In my panic i shake my legs trying to get the heavy stones off it

As i shake my legs around in confusion and panic the realization hits me they aren't encased in stone they are made from stone!

I try to scream in confusion and anger but only a low rumbling voice exits my... mouth? I bring my hands to my face to check whats going on why can't i scream? To my horror there was nothing there only my eyes but no nose, mouth or even ears. Whats going on without a mouth or nose i sholdnt be alive ! But strangly i didn't have the urge or instinct to breathe.

I check my hands and chest only to realize they are made from same stone too. I fall to my knees in defeat what is going on ?

I looked around only to see a what looked like a cave all around me shrouded in darkness, illuminated only by a faint glow coming from my ... chest? I look down at my stony chest, only to see a shiny orb the size of a basketball. Peacefully floating between what looked like 12 stony ribs surrounding it and casting small shadows along the cave walls. This has to be some sort of dream maybe if i close my eyes i will wake up !

After closing my eyes for seemingly an eternity i reopen them and nothing. Im still sitting in the dark and damp cave.

I am kneeling on the cold cave floor trying to understand whats going on. Maybe its a prank... No i've never heard of something that can turn you into stone so thats not it. Maybe something happened yesterday? I try to think back, and finally i remember what happened.

I died, i think? Well i've never heard of someone surviving a 60 mph collision with a semitruck.

So i reincarnated, and guessing from my unusual body, another world. Huh... and i thought getting run over by a truck and reincarnating was just a cliche.

Well what now? My body seems to be natural and not mechanical so a sci fi world is out of the question, and guessing from the floating core in my chest its a fantasy world maybe? I've played my fair share of fantasy games, even played a round of DnD sometimes. And if i had to guess im a type of golem.

I slowly stand up to my full height only to notice...

IM MASSIVE !

My body at it's full height is easily 2m tall!

I check my body a little closer to not get another secret suprise and of course a new problem.

My hands are really clunky, not just my hands my entire forearm. It reminds more of a club then an arm, and my fingers are really more like 4 small rocks affixed to the front of it. I also noticed my body seems to be held together by some invisible force if i had to guess it's my core doing that.

So that of course means.

Protect the core!

Alright lets look around this cave! And with that i set my gigantic body into motion and headed for the rocky corridor out of my litlle cave room. I carefully moved to the next room since i dont want to die again, i mean if i already get a second chance might as well use it. And with that thought i entered the next room in the cave.

As soon as i entered the light from my core illuminated thousands of crystals. There were so many colors green, red , purple anything you could imagin. I froze for a second in awe of the thousands of flashing lights dancing across the room, the giant cave seemed almost alive.

I could also feel something, a feeling i've never felt before and i could tell it was... magic !

For some reason these crystals felt special. They energised me, i felt like i drank a hot cup of coffee on a winter morning after sleeping for 8 hours. All the pain in my body that remained vanished immediatly. Out of habit i even stretched my new stoney limbs

And i felt great ! So i picked some of the crystals up, but after picking a handful of crystals up and holding them in my rocky palm.

i realised where should i put them?

As i fumbled the stones around in my giant hands, a brilliant idea came to me!

I could put them in my chest cavity that might work.

Well it wasn't "the best" idea ,but hey if it works it works!

So i carefully put 1 crystal in the hollow space and it started getting pulled in until it started orbiting the core. Huh... Neat! So i placed a few other crystals near my core until they started orbiting it too.

After adding 9 more crystals i now had 10 small crystals orbit my core and it gave me a suprising boost in energy.

After i was done adding the crystals to my core i saw a puddle of water in the middle of the room.

And immediatly ran over too it, now i can finally see what i look like! And as i suspected i was a golem or Elemental? Well im not sure whats the diffrence between those two.

Inspecting my face a little closer i could see that my eyes were made of quartz like crystals and as i thought no nose, ears or mouth my face was completly bland exept for my eyes. Weirdly enough my eyes weren't rough gems but polished stones, with them seeming almost masterfully cut.

I also cant change my facial expression, well i mean makes sense stone isnt well known for moving or bending. Although with magic in this world i may be able to change that sooner or later.

So im stuck with a constant neutral look, well at least i dont look angry or sad constantly.

Once i was done looking at my new body i set course on what seemed to be the exit. So i climbed up to the next corridor, wich was a few feet above the ground. Seeing no other option i started climbing up the wall, hanging onto rocky protrusions as i went.

Suprisingly my new body was pretty nimble so thats great. After reaching the top i had to squeeze through a small hole and there it was the entrance to the cave! I pushed myself out the narrow passage and stood up to take my first steps into the world.

Of course i was a little nervous. But hey! I cant sit around in that cave forever.

And after stepping out the bright light of the sun wich blinded me for a second before i saw a huge forest in front of me reaching for miles and crashing against the mountains in the distance. I felt the warm breeze brush up against my rough exterior, as the birds of the forest sang their songs. It felt quite peacefull.

And hey is that a ... Town?
