Somehow the little fuckers had torn into my shoes and I could feel their countless little teeth bite into my skin. At this point, any soft spot I’d had for these creatures had vanished and all that filled me was irritation.
I kicked the few rabbits away from me as soft as I could, but it was of no use. More would fill their spot and even started to climb on me.
“Ow! Fuck!” I stomped on a rabbit next to my foot because I felt a sudden sharp pain. A bite? Was a rabbit’s bite that painful?
“Ah!” I grit my teeth and kicked as hard as I could because yet another one bit into my legs.
And then reality dawned on me.
Whatever these fuckers were, if I simply stood here, they were going to devour me through pure numbers. It was ridiculous.
I had a System, and I was going to be killed by little rabbits? Not even superpowered rabbits, just ordinary rabbits that would kill me with a thousand cuts.
And seeing them so frenzied and irritated lit a spark in me. For some reason, I felt really angry watching all these normally harmless rabbits behave so unnaturally, so insane.
I saw that some parts of the horde of rabbits had squirmed themselves into a heap— writhing, frolicking and…
My brows furrowed deeply as I realized what they were doing in those mounds.
Lust
The word flashed through my mind. Claira had called it a disease and back then I wondered how lust could possibly be a bad thing.
I now understood.
And immediately, I remembered the fact that she called it a disease.
Without even thinking I ran, bolting through the horde. This time I wasn’t fighting a slimy tentacled feak I had no chance against, nor was I up against a horde of shadow monsters and a giant that could swallow me whole.
They were just regular rabbits driven insane by this bizarre disease.
I ran east, and everytime I did I could feel the little fuckers getting crushed beneath my feet. And everytime one of them died, a translucent blue pop-up would appear somewhere in my field of view
[You have gained 5 EXP!]
[You have gained 5 EXP!]
One quick look at my level counter made me almost stop in my tracks and reconsider going to the village. Because I was only 100 EXP short of leveling up.
A deranged giggle escaped me and my mouth stretched into a wide grin. Back on Earth I would never do what I was about to do, and it struck me as very ironic that I would have a bad opinion of anyone who killed such cute things for fun.
But these things were insane monsters so it was fine.
Immediately the pop-ups flashed in front of me as soon as the idea of the skills came to my mind.
[Skill: Rabbit Crusher!
Description: Your strength increases by 2 times when facing rabbits in daytime]
[Skill: Rabbit Speed!
Description: Your speed increases by 2 times when facing rabbits in daytime]
[Skill: Rabbit-butcherer’s fortitude!
Description: Your constitution increases by 2 times when facing rabbits in daytime]
I grabbed a rabbit as I jogged leisurely and flung it around, sweeping the floor around me with all my power
[You have gained 5 EXP!]
[You have gained 5 EXP!]
I stomped, I kicked, I slammed all around me, sometimes I even grabbed two rabbits and used them as weapons. My hands were slick and sticky with blood and honestly at one point, it was very disgusting.

But when I saw the next pop-up, I wanted to do it all over again
[You have leveled up! Reward: +1 Stat point]
----------------------------------------
The feeling of the blood sticking to my body was so disgusting. I tried wiping the sweat off my face only to have it smeared in sticky blood instead.
My clothes stuck uncomfortably to my skin and I wished I could plug my nose for good. The smell was so horrible I felt like puking the first time I registered it.
But even after all this, I didn’t regret what I did. I’d gained three levels from all those rabbits, and gained three stat points.
“Hahhh… man…” I sat down and laid back on the grass, staring at the magenta sky streaked by beautifully vivid color.
I put two points into strength and one point into constitution and lazily watched the clouds roll by.
“God… I wish I could just lie down and sleep here.” I yawned and lazily got up to stretch.
Time to go see what that village was hiding, and then I’ll go back to the cave and come again tomorrow for a proper look. I promised myself that I wouldn’t get sidetracked like this tomorrow.
The grass crunched beneath my feet as I walked East, away from the setting sun and towards the darkening horizon. For whatever reason, I couldn’t help but feel I was walking towards something hideous.
As I walked further and further, the feeling only grew. The air felt thick and heavy, although I knew it wasn’t physically any different. By this time the sun had almost fully set and only a thin sliver of light remained on the western horizon.
On the dark eastern horizon, I saw something stand out— square and rectangular structures standing in stark contrast to the rolling plains. I hurried my footsteps. Aside from the sound of crunching grass, there was not a single sound.
No crickets, no birds, nothing.
There was not a single light anywhere, and the shapes of the thatched-roof houses appeared hazy in the darkness. I looked over my shoulder, feeling a presence behind me— but nothing was there.
I stood between two dark huts, and simply stood in the darkness. Not even a single star lit up this moonless sky, and I felt a creeping fear slither into me. I stretched my hands out in front of me, and although I could make out its hazy shape, anything beyond it was completely obscured.
Yeah, no. I didn’t want to spend a single extra second in this place. Something about it just seemed wrong, and I didn’t want to stay to find out why.
And in this stark silence— there was a faint sound. It was so subtle, I couldn’t make out what it was. It was just that— noise.
I re-checked my skills and deleted the Rabbit Crusher skill, replacing it instead, with one that increased my running speed. If push comes to shove, I’d rather run at top speed than fight.
I knew I should leave and come back tomorrow. I’d seen so many horror stories and cursed the people who would needlessly investigate something just to die.
And now I faced that same situation and completely understood why they would do it. My curiosity burned, and with the skills providing some reassurance, I decided against all reason to investigate the noise.
I’ll bolt the moment I figure out what it is.
In the darkness, I creeped slowly towards that persistent noise, hearing it grow more tangible— more real.
And as it did, I could make out the countless other noises that were hidden within it. It was not one noise, it was many— like… Like…
I felt my brows furrow when I realized what it was. And almost at the same time, I saw the darkness lift a bit from somewhere in front. There was a light source somewhere and my legs tingled, getting ready to sprint at any moment.
I turned a corner, and saw light pouring out of a high window. And at this moment my curiosity burned like an inferno, and I absolutely wanted to see what was inside.
A cacophony of loud grunts, moans and other sensual noises leaked out from a crack in the window. I sneaked below the window and slowly peaked into it.
What I saw absolutely stunned me. And it was exactly as I expected. Just seeing it in the flesh was very… very graphic.
I saw scores and scores of nude bodies entwined and engaged in an orgy of pleasure.
Wet, slapping sounds and passionate moans mixed into an intriguing caucus of noise.
And I couldn’t tear my eyes away from the scene.
And when my eyes became accustomed to the scene, and when I could finally look at the smaller details, I only felt horror and disgust.
Some of the bodies were limp and unmoving, yet they still had a partner. Yet others were missing body parts, dried blood clotting their wounds and fresh ones still oozing blood.
And yet others—
I looked away from the window, puking in disgust.
All the contents of my stomach were emptied out on the floor with the force of a yell and I weakly wiped my mouth.
Lust
I understood now. I understood how disgusting and horrible this was— a perversion of the natural order. A corrupted facsimile of what I always thought was a mundane desire.
This was insanity.
It was time to get out of this place.
Without thinking I immediately started to sprint—
And crashed into someone.
In the dim light flowing out of the window, a tall man stood in front of me with his face obscured.
“Can I help you?” He said with a rather dull voice.
My heart thrashed in my chest and my legs and fists tingled, getting ready to either fight or run away. I stared at the facade of the man trying to understand his motive.
He wore a torn shirt, with rough leather pants that seemed beat up.
“No.” I answered as nonchalantly as I could. My shirt stuck uncomfortably to my skin and I was sweating bucketloads.
“I see.” The man said solemnly, and began to walk past me.
I sighed, and calmly walked away as well and back into the shadows.
Wait a fucking minute. This is a village in another world… But didn’t that man speak to me in English?
The footsteps behind me stopped.
“Have I seen you before?”
