The gates was in ruins, pocket marks of hammer swing could be seen everywhere and paladins are lying half-dead on the ground. All in all, Vaticius city was in a pretty bad state.
Even though the huge shadow was driven away by Angelius, there still remained some remnant creatures/shadows left. The paladins and the Kallamore Knights are busy wiping out every trace of them.
Meanwhile, Angelius Ray was having a chat with Nexus.
"Come, I need to speak to you."
Angelius Ray dragged Nexus away the moment he set foot down from the guard tower. Dragging him to the side, he questioned.
"Show me the blade you throw."
That was not a request.
Nexus looked on at him and rejected him flatly to the face.
"No."
"...Fine. My blade is called Lucarius Rendus Frestis. I gotten it from a A-ranked Quest. Does the name ring any bells?"
"Frestis...."
Ricabius Lia Frestis.
That was the phrase engraved on Nexus's Holy Blade.
"Holy Blade!"
The golden blade one again appeared in front of Nexus. He squinted at the bottom of the sword.
"Ricabius Lia Frestis...the last name is the same!"
"Let me see the blade."
Angelius took the blade over from Nexus. Without warning, he struck the blade down with all his might.
*Baam*
The blade blew up in his face. He was unharmed, however, as a barrier of light blocked the explosion.
"Look like it is not the blade...."
"What do you mean?"
"Lucarius Rendus Frestis is the first name of the sword. There is another part to it. Only when the two parts are combined would the true blade be revealed. If not, it name in the Status Window would just be something like "Holy Blade" or "Sword of the Faithful". For mine, it is "Saint's Devotion"."
"What would have happened if my sword was the correct one?"
"I would have killed you over and over again until you drop the sword."
"....Get away from me."
"Just joking..."
Angelius did not look like he was joking just now, though. His demeanor was completely serious when he said those words.
Just then. a Kallamore Knight rode towards them. Astride the majestic horse, the Knight gave off a visible aura of intimidation.
"Our leader request the presence of the one called Nexus."
"Me?"
"Follow me."
Without giving a second glance to Angelius, the knight rode off after grabbing Nexus from the ground.
"Ch....Insolent fool."
Angelius, are you done with your business?
"Yes, Ray Bard. How goes the preparation to attack Kallamore?"
We are almost ready. We have caught wind of Kollediems return. Kallamore would be attacking soon. Then, would our plan be put into motion.
"Can't wait to smash those proud bastards..."
Angelius never forgave anyone for slighting him. Especially Kallamore. He still remember the days when he was a beginner in Kallamore Kingdom, and how the Knights have rejected him from joining their ranks. He never forgave them for that. Now, he would do all that is in his power to crush them.
"Speaking of which, is there a vacancy for a position in the 1st Templar Squad?"
Why?
"I want to invite someone to Hermes Guild."
Angelius got a feeling that Nexus possess a power unknown, and he want to keep him close by.
Sheathing his blade, Angelius chanted a spell.
"Boots of Hermes, grant me flight!"
Boots of Hermes, a legendary item that allow the user to fly, was one item he had gotten together with "Saint's Devotion". It was one of the treasures of Hermes guild, which was given only to the commanders of Hermes's army.
At the speed of lightning, he shot off to the direction of Kingdom of Haven.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Hi Nexus. My name is Darius."
The Knight said with a wink.
Darius...Ji-Hoon!
"A honor to meet you. I am Nexus, a member of the Church of Freya."
Nexus replied the same way Darius did. However, he was curious. Curious about how Darius get here.
"Nice to make you acquaintance. Would you mind if we be friends?"
Still role-playing, Darius somehow manage to sent Nexus a friend request without breaking his character.
Darius has sent you a friend request. Yes/No
"I humbly accept your offer."
Registered Darius as friend.
We got a lot to talk about, Shi-Woo
Sure we do, for me too
"Come Knights, it is time for us to return. Nexus, if you ever want to find me, find me in Kallamore Kingdom. Knights, lets make haste back to Kallamore. As much as I would like the mage to just teleport us back, it looks as if he is....incapacitated."
"Yes, Commander Darius!"
Francis had already collapse on the ground from exhaustion. He definitely looks incapable of doing anything anytime soon.
With that, the Kallamore Knights also left. Riding in a V-shaped formation, they charge on, ignoring the fact that monsters are 50% stronger at night.
I guess if you are powerful it does not matter.
"Looks like Angelius is also gone...now comes the hard part."
Baron spoke up behind Nexus, with Tyle in tow. He sighed and looked at the chaos that has happened. The Pope was still in a coma, 1/6 of the Church of Freya is destroyed and the front gate of Vaticius City is in shambles, allowing monster free reign to come in.
"Nexus, Tyle, I need to speak with you two."
Baron took Nexus and Tyle off to one side, away from bystanders.
"The Pope has been afflicted with a curse by Embinyu. I need the both of you to seek out Lucari, The Vindicator of Lu, for help. Aside from the Pope, Lucari is the only one with the strength to undo the curse. I would like to go myself but I need to take care of this," pointing to the destruction behind them, "mess. Also, Francis probably cannot use his magic for awhile now. He overburned his mana from casting high level spells in a row. The rest of the Priest and Paladins are needed here too. Here, take this."
Seek out Lucari, Vindicator of Lu. Speak to him on Baron behalf and asked for his assistance.
Baron has given you the Seal of Freya as proof of your legitimacy.
Quest Difficulty: D
Reward: +200 relationship point with Church of Freya and a reward of your choosing.
Losing the Seal would result in a immediate failure of the quest
Quest cannot be declined
Quest accepted
What is with all this undeniable quest?!
"The Church of Lu can be found in Lasselle, just pass Kingdom of Haven. Make haste, our Church depends on you. Go to the stable and choose two steads of your choosing. Set off by morning. Also, go see Gordon and get yourself some better weapons. We can't have you dying along the way."
With that, Baron left them alone as he went to command the other paladins.
"Was Baron someone important? I never knew..."
Tyle asked the question Nexus was curious about himself. He could perceive that something was stopping Baron from unleashing his full power. Even though a seal was undone, that was not the only restrain holding Baron back. Francis was the same. He should not be exhausted from casting such simple magic.
Who exactly was him? And Francis?
-------------------------------------------------------
Tyle and Nexus walked outside the Armory. A majestic door with a seal upon it stood right in front of them. To the side is a desk with a bored looking priest upon it.
"You two are the guys Baron sent? Alezcra-Vistalaries-Giealsta!"
The door slowly opened before them. Inside are racks upon racks of armor and weapons.
"Take what you want and bring them here. Sign in the weapons and you are free to go."
Tyle and Nexus entered the cavern.
Armory of Freya
A powerful seal is placed upon this area, sealing all those who enter.
The power of the seal remains strong even after the ravages of time.
You cannot log out nor use any spells in here. All stats receive a 100% reduction
Any equipment can be equipped in here regardless of restrictions.
Rows upon rows of weapon and armor lay before them.
Weapons with different colors, from pure black to snow white, and with different abilities lay in their racks.
Armor, made of many materials, from mithril to wyvern scales, gleamed with a hidden power.
It was just like any adventurers dream.
Nexus and Tyle could barely hold in their saliva from dripping up.
"Look at this!"
Sawazaki Katana
Level Restriction: 380
Damage: 160-200
Durability: 300/300
Sword used by a legendary swordsman, it was forged by a blacksmith of great skill. A mixture of mithril and steel, together with small amounts of helium, had been used in its construction. On its blade lied the blood of many great and terrible monsters, so many that their combined hatred took a form of its own. Driven almost to insanity by the beast, it was given to the Church of Freya to be purified. Currently, trace amounts of hatred still remain
Nexus could still feel the hatred of the monsters from the sword. However, Tyle, not sensitive to such things, was already swinging the sword around. He was not able to use the sword to its fullest due to the stat reduction and low level, however Tyle was still able to appreciate the power of the blade. The blade radiated danger and death to whoever that touched it.
The next weapon was a long polearm.

No Orc was born like him after his death.
Even with the help of Tyle, he was barely able to lift the polearm. With each swing, Nexus could feel the displacement of the wind. It would probably be impossible to equip any of the weapons of this high caliber though. At least, not until a long time.
Of course, they could not admire weapons forever.
They when further into the armory. Inside, the weapons grew even more exotic and weird. A knife shaped like a fork was seen, together with a Sword-Shield. The weapons came in all shapes and sizes, making it impossible to define which weapon does what without picking them out. Tyle found his weapon after trying out his 5th weapon.
Defender Great Blade
Level Requirement: None
Damage: 10-20
Durability: 100/100
A sword made for defense only, its origins were unknown.
With a broad tip, it was mean to be used in conjunction with a shield
That weapon...I once saw my master use it.
Caldecius, who usually remain silent, made a comment.
Tyle, upon hearing it, selected the weapon without query. He did not choose another weapon after that.
Meanwhile, Nexus was walking around, trying out random weapons. A shield bow, two knives attached by a string and a Axsword was just some of the weapon he tried. That is, until he saw a unassuming sword lying in a corner.
Something is off....
Nexus walked over to the sword and picked it up.
Sword
Damage: 10-30
Level Requirement: None
A sword. Nothing more
Really?
"Holy Blade!"
Holy blade does not count as a skill, it seems. No that it matters. Nexus brought his blade closer to the sword. Still nothing. Still closer. Nothing. Even closer. Nothing yet. Touching.....
Go away you fucker!
He almost stabbed the Holy Blade into the sword in surprise.
Nightingale
Level Requirement: None
Damage: 20-40
Sword Level [1]: 0.00%
Sword infused with a spirit named Nightingale. Crafted by a masterful Blacksmith, it is made using a technique long gone. Perhaps afraid of it being discovered, it was disguised as a normal sword. Unless willing revealed, it will be so. The sword has long lived in isolation in the Armory of Freya, until it was bordered by a adventurer.
"You are mine now, Nightingale."
What are you, some pervert? You already have a good sword.
"You see, my sword needs my mana to sustain. I need a reliable sword."
Fuck off. Why me?
"Cause I like you?"
Fucking pervert.
"You have nowhere to escape. Tyle, lets go."
Tyle, who was thinking whether Nexus has gone insane, was quite glad that Nexus is still sane. On the way out, Nexus took along the shield bow.
Let me go, you asshole!
"Shut up!"
"What have I done to you?"
Tyle was feeling that perhaps Nexus has finally lost it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Hmm....Defender and Nightingale. Sign your names here."
Tyle and Nexus signed their names onto the sheet Gordon was pointing too.
Entered a contract with Church of Freya
Loaning of weapons to Tyle and Nexus
Length of Time: Until the end of Quest
"Good, now go."
----------------------------------------------------
Nexus was starting to regret choosing Nightingale.
The sword had been bitching to him for the entire journey from the armory to the stables.
He wished to beat the sword, but he could not.
After all, it was still Church of Freya property.
At the stables, Nexus and Tyle chosen two of the better horses. One was a large warhorse named Becky.
Becky, the War Horse
Trained in warfare, Becky is a reliable stead. Build for power, not speed, it is slow and steady.
Claim as mount? Yes/No
"Yes!" Tyle said.
Stead registered to Tyle
Nexus meanwhile chosen a horse in the shade of black, slim and lithe.
Ners, the Dark Horse
Built for fast rapid movements, Ners could easily avoid attacks.
However, it is more suited for hit and run tactics rather than straight up attack.
Claim as mount? Yes/No
"Yes!"
You have gained skill "Rider's Call"
Rider's Call
A short whistle to summoned your registered mount to you
With that, the two of them are ready to set off.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nexus is dragging the Nightingale behind his horse.
He was so annoyed by Nightingale he decided to teach Nightingale a lesson.
Nightingale was made of a material not easily scratched by the road, yet it still cause pain.
Nexus was not going to care about Nightingale until he heard the words "I submit" from the sword.
Caldecius meanwhile was whispering to Tyle
Don't ever treat me like that or I will disowned you as my disciple!
"Yes...yes...."
Before they go though, they decided to say goodbye to the fairies.
The fairies were not very glad to see them go. However, they gave the two something.
"The road to Laselle may bring you along Fairy territory. This is prove that you are of no harm to us fairies."
Fairy Sigil gotten!
Fairy Sigil
Durability: 20/20
A prove of your friendship with fairies. Fairies would let you enter their homeland if they see this sigil.
"Good luck."
The fairy saved by Nexus and Tyle gave Tyle a necklace made out of cloth.
Why not me?
Nexus was a teeny winny bit jealous. However, he did not say a word.
Tyle took over the necklace with thanks.
Just then, Nexus noticed something. The fairy was blushing.
It can't be...
Tyle noticed nothing, though.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Outiside the city, Nexus and Tyle agreed to log out. The first ray of dawn was shining on them, marking the start of a new day. The third day in Royal Road Nexus ordered Ners to roam around the city with Becky while still dragging Nightingale when the logged out.
The final sound Nexus heard before coming out of the capsule was Nightingales swearing.
Stretching his muscles, Shi-Woo looked at the clock.
"It has been close to 12 hours..."
Two full days have passed in Royal Road since he log in.
His stomach was growling from the lack of food.
Speaking of which, I don't seem to feel hungry in-game. Was it a side effect of Ascendant race?
Shi-Woo made a mental note to finally check the status screen of his race.
Before eating something though, Shi-Woo when in front of his computer.
"Go RRL Forums Chat Room."
A chat room appeared in front of him. As expected, Ji-Hoon was there.
"You logout already?"
-We made it back in 2 hours.
"That ridiculous amount of distance?"
-You think our title as Knights are just for show?
"How did you become the Commander of the Kallamore Knights anyways?"
-It is not Commander! It is Commander Captain Darius Lionheart of the 21st Knight Division!
"Okay...okay...so Sir Darius, how goes the preparations to attack Kingdom of Haven?"
Kallamore Kingdom's impending attack on the Kingdom of Haven was all over the rumor boards.
Shi-Woo wanted to find out the truth.
-Knight Kolldeim returned to us. Kallmore's King has taken this to be a sign that it is time to attack.
"Okay..."
-How about you? Acolyte of Freya? What the heck is that?
"Let me get something to eat first..."
--------------------------------------------------------
Shin Hyun-Woo relaxed on his inclined chair, looking on at the monitor.
"All this action makes me want to play Royal Road....."
"You can't. Your knowledge of the game ensures you have a 25.64% advantage over players. Also, access to in-game visuals pushes that percentage to 89.78%. For example, you are looking on at the actions of player Rohelim scaling the highest peak in the game, which is not suppose to be known."
"...Sigh...."
-------------------------------------------------------
Short chapter, wrapping things up. Going to move him out of the city to a new location. But, seriously, one chapter per day.....lets try to keep this up for as long as possible. {[999abd}]
