Introduction to Koridias

Introduction to Koridias

The world of Trivium is in an era of magic, wonder and uneasy peace. The realm of Koridias is ruled by five factions.

The Largest, The Empyrical Kingdom consists of the lands of Braethis, Scillia, Quintex and Aosda Alba, ruled by the capital province of Estral. With it’s bountiful fields and plentiful mineral mines the inner territory of the Empyrical are both prosperous and secure. Renowned for their varied and elite cavalry, the Kingdom has the strongest military force throughout the realm of Koridias.

To their West across the Tempian Strait lies the Tagawa Empire, it’s capital island the centre of an archipelago ruled by four houses who all have sworn their eternal loyalty to their Emperor. Each of these four houses are aligned with one of the elemental forces of the world, that being Wind, Earth, Fire and Water.

To the far South lie the Mercidium Alliance and the Holy Kingdom of Solaris. The Mercidium Alliance is a collection of island nations from all around the Maelstrom archipelago united with treaties to protect the sovereignty of their territory. A network of mages is also established within the Mercidium, utilising their expertise to further the cause of the Alliance.

To their East the Holy Kingdom of Solaris, a theocratic kingdom following the Faith of the Radiant Dawn. Their paladins have devoted themselves to cleansing darkness and evil throughout the realm, but in the past their zeal has led them to be viewed unfavourably by the other factions.

The smallest faction lies a short distance South of Estral, The Argentum Combine. While just being a city state with several distant settlements they are held in high regards by their neighbours. They are ruled by a council composed of mages, clerics and elementlist, the only such union in the realm.

To the South of the Empyrical and Combine, North of the Mercidium and Solaris is what is infamously known as the Scar of Monsters. Consisting of the Fanged Wilds and the Rakta desert, this region has a large and varied population of monsters. So hostile is the region that travel through the region is considered foolhardy to the point of suicidal. Despite the reduced travel time ships trading in commerce between the factions, will avoid the waters near the Scar for fear of being attacked by leviathans stalking its coast.
