CHAPTER 1
Orphan Monk
“Kid, do you want to die? What did you just say?”
“I… I… I didn’t… say anything, sir?” I stutter purposely.
His rage is daily, I am already used to this tone. Only reason I stuttered is because if I don’t, he will beat me up again.
“Say it again little bitch, I heard it with my own Ears.”
“No, I… didn’t say anything…”
Slap! A hit right on my left cheek. Then he grabs me by my collar.
“I heard you say something about fleeing this orphanage?”
“It wasn”
Another slap, a stronger one at my right cheek this time.
This released something inside that I never knew existed.
“That’s it. I said nothing wrong. Monastic Stance.”
“Using skills in an orphanage is forbidden by law! Guards!”
I probably got monk superclass before coming to this orphanage, I have no memory about it though. However, I practiced and trained from time to time, the progression was slow because there were no monsters to kill or other things to do but level 13 is probably enough to get me out of here. I hit the orphanage owner and he lights up in fire due to the monk's passive skill ‘fire fist’.
“Guards! Fast, GET HER!” as he rolls backward to put out the fire, he shouts in so much rage, the last time I saw him like this was when all of his savings got stolen. A sword user tries to slash at me, but I block his attack. ‘Stuardy Defense’, another passive skill of monk, protects me from the blade.
“Buffed Agility!” I hear another guard shouting.
Damit, spy or assassin, gotta run. I can’t outrun him though. A dagger cuts through my skin before I am able to block it. Ow, it hurts.
“Bane.” an assassin skill that teleports to the person that they last attacked when they basic attack. I get full comboed soon after.
“Damit, that bane is so annoying. Chi Blade.” My slice of chi pierces through the assassin. He twitches a bit but it does not slow him down much. I block his next slice, by this time my monastic stance is over, and I would have to fight 2 minutes without it. I chose to learn another stance yesterday when I leveled up though. “Assassin's leap”, “Defensive Stance, Instant Uppercut.” he flings backward, I want to dash at him and show him the real uppercut, but there are two enemies at each side of me. One of them jumps at me with a spear. She stupidly uses special basic attack. Which gives me time to dodge and counter. Another one jumps at me soon after. He manages to land a couple of attacks before I manage to make a distance. Damit, he has a good weapon, great armor and items, while I got no armor nor items. This is so unfair. My hp is already low.

Couple seconds pass without much happening, then I start running again. Then something pierces me. “Damit an arrow. It must be an archer.” I can’t fight against archers. My reach isn’t long, my speed isn’t fast, and I can’t even hide right now. Another arrow pierces me, and I feel my hp dwindling at a dangerously low percentage. I dodge the third arrow and the fourth. Not far, not far, I can see the stream up ahead. If I jump in there and swim my way downstream, they won’t be able to find me.
Swiiiiiiiiiiiish!
I hear an arrow flying to my location. I dodge to avoid the arrow, only to realize I was foolish to think that arrow was coming at me. It was coming to the location that I would end up after doding to the left. If I dodged to the right or if I hadn’t dodged, it would have missed, so the archer must have taken a chance. Lucky for him, it did hit me. As it pierces me, I hope that I have enough to bear this one. Unluckily, I don’t. Couple seconds after the arrow pierces my left leg, I fall down to the ground, unable to move. ‘Damit! What kind of bitches are you? Why can’t I even leave the orphanage, I’m already 14 damn it. Who the fuck gave you the right?’ I want to shout this out loud, but since I can’t move my mouth right now, I think to myself.
“What should we do with her?” the sword user asks. The same sword user who couldn’t even land an attack on me.
“Why do you even ask? She tried to burn me. Just kill her!” shouts the owner, who seems to be angrier than when I punched him.
“Do you know where she respawns? We gotta make sure to end her so that she can't get revenge later.” says the assassin who couldn’t even do more than attacking me a couple of times and being flung away.
“She will probably spawn back in the orphanage, since she never had a chance to set a spawn, she will spawn back in a place that she lived the longest.”
Shit, they are going to wipe me. Well, I might as well die. I’m tired of living like this, I should have wiped myself sooner. Probably my next life will at least be a little better, won’t it?
Few seconds pass, and I close my eyes for the pain to overtake me. It doesn’t come. Instead, something else does. By something else, I mean literally somebody else comes to the scene.
“What is going on here?” Somebody says with authority in his voice.
“Mmm… nothing, sir…” the owner of the orphanage answers while shivering in fear. Whoever he is, he must be somebody strong and important. Which means this is my only chance to get out of this situation. “Sir, I became an orphan due to the war between the Empire of Caylin III and Religious States of Arcadia (RSA). I lost all of the memories during the war and ended up here. However, the owner treats me like I’m less than a dirty slime monster. I tried to escape the orphanage just now, but he stopped me with the guards and is now trying to kill me. Isn’t this against the empire’s law?” As I say this, I try to hold my firm voice, but it gets shakier the more I say.
“No, what she says is all a LIE!” the owner protests.
“Is it?” the probably important person says.
“Yes, sir. She is from Lukaria, which used to be the capital of the RSA. We all know we can't trust anybody from RSA."
"We can't trust the religious government of RSA and the followers but there is nothing wrong with many of the citizens, and besides she's just a kid." Then he adds with a firm voice.
"I already saw what happened here."
Then he ignites the orphanage owner on fire.
"I have no business with you, flee now." He says to the guards.
The guards do as they are told, by this time I regenerate enough hp to get up again.
"Come, that is, if you don't want to go to another orphanage."
