chapter 14

The door that links the worlds of Yin and Yang needs a living person to open it.

The person who pushes the door will enter the Yin world with ghosts.

It is the set rules.

Within the rules, everything abnormal will be corrected.

No one can realize the bugs.

The abandoned building which Feather liked to play in collapsed.

She was buried under the rocks and bricks. Miraculously, she only had a minor injury.

When she woke up, the Whites and she moved to a new place.

The couple who lived on the upper floor at their previous neighborhood had twins.

They had a son before but he died from a sickness at a very young age.

If he was still alive, he would be two years older than Feather.

‘Is this reality or illusion?’

Feather is lost in the illusion.

She sees the red door being pushed open and that prudent and calm boy was washed into that dark sky along with countless ghosts. She wants to pounce at this mirror to stop it.

A clear and melodious breaking sound of the mirror is heard.

The tenth mirror is broken. The mirror ghost screeches.

Feather suddenly wakes up.

‘Sir.’

She sees Ro walking to her through the broken mirror frame. She is confused and doesn’t know what happened.

Ro was waiting for a long time and saw Feather was laughing and crying at the same mirror while she was trying to paste herself onto that mirror as if she wanted to enter the mirror as well.

That’s why Ro decided to break that mirror.

In fact, this game is not that hard.

Feather only shows great emotional change at that mirror.

This has largely boosted Ro’s confidence of finding the mirror ghost.

‘We can get out now.’

The mirror ghost was hiding in the tenth mirror. As soon as it can lure Feather into the mirror, it can take up her body.

On the other hand, Feather will be sealed into the mirror and become the new mirror ghost here.

Now the mirror has been broken and the mirror ghost is severely injured. It is no longer a threat to them.

‘Were the mirrors reflecting truth?’

‘They are all fake illusions.’

Feather doesn’t continue this conversation. It is her first time thinking Mr. Clown is lying to her.

When she has exited the Mirror Maze, she has forgotten everything she saw from the mirrors. She was going to ask him something but she doesn’t remember it anymore.

Mr. Clown and what? ......

This feeling of having a temporary emptied memory is familiar.

Feather doesn’t go deeply into this and she feels happy when the reverse of the ticket says 9/10.

‘Sir, what do we play for the last game?’

‘We will watch a show.’

Ro claps his hands.

They are immediately transferred to another space. Here it looks like somewhere in an ordinary amusement park. There are colorful lights and a medium size auditorium.

‘I am the owner here.’

Ro is standing on the stage. Feather is sitting in the auditorium alone.

“The Clown’s Performance: This clown’s performance is not funny or serious. The worst game in the Abyss Amusement Park.”

“Difficulty: 1 star.”

Feather rests her chin on her hands and watches Mr. Clown dedicatedly.

After the Mirror Maze, Feather has extra trust in Mr. Clown from her deep mind.

Although she also trusted him unconditionally in the past, she trusts him more now. She feels a sense of closeness of their relationship, as if she had known him for a long time.

Ro first changes his red nose to a green nose, then to a yellow nose.

This content has been misappropriated from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

He has no facial expression and is just seriously changing the colors of his nose.

Feather is paying all her attention to him and keeps clapping.

Ro feels embarrassed.

It is time for the real power!

Ro touches the air and scoops a large top hat. He puts it on his head and now he looks more decent.

He bows at Feather and his clown costume has changed into a suitable suit.

He has transformed from a clown to a gentleman in a second.

Now he looks like a noble man from the old times and he just needs a walking cane.

He still has the clown’s makeup but that matches him well with the suit and the top hat.

He takes out his other hand hiding behind and places it on his chest. There is a greenish lily flower in his hand.

It smells fresh and clear.

Just one step astride, he stands in front of Feather and puts the lily flower in her hands.

‘Sir, you are so nice to me!’

Ro goes back to the stage.

He takes off his top hat. His yellow afro hair has become long smooth black hair.

His slender hand is looking for something in the top hat.

Feather is curious and expects something fun.

A fat and big rabbit is picked by him. Its ears are pinched.

‘Take this!’

Feather trots to catch the rabbit and keeps it in her arms.

It is a heavy, tame, and warm rabbit. It is a real living rabbit.

Ro keeps searching in his top hat. He hasn’t pulled out another thing and is stilling searching……

Feather is nervous as well.

Is he going to pluck another rabbit out?

His hands have clear joints and are pale to nearly transparent. He plucks some balloons out.

It is not a rabbit, but long and colorful balloons.

Ro gently swings them and they are inflated after one swing like colorful French bread sticks.

He folds a pink balloon into a crown shape and releases it. It flies to Feather and lands on top of her head.

It has shrunk to a suitable size and transformed to a real pink crystal princess crown.

It fits her well.

Next is an orange balloon. Ro folds it into a dog shape and blows air into it. The balloon transforms into a cute doggy and it runs to Feather for petting.

It wags its tail and licks her hands.

A red and a white balloon are left.

What will he do next?

Feather’s eyes are shiny and staring at his hands.

Ro swiftly folds them into a red and white lollipop.

He touches it from the top to the bottom and transforms it into a real lollipop.

It is nearly as big as a washbasin.

It smells dreamy sweet.

It doesn’t seem to be a cheap lollipop which will dye the tongue.

It is made of sweet and soft strawberry and thick milk jelly.

It has a pair of transparent wings and it flies to Feather’s mouth.

Feather bites it without thinking that this was balloon a second ago.

She takes a large bite.

The strawberry and the milk explode in her mouth and gives her a sweet critical strike.

‘Sir……this tastes so good……’

Feather speaks on and off and squints with a smile.

Her eyes are attractive and innocent as if a candy is enough to kidnap her.

When Feather finishes it, she feels full.

The rabbit jumps down and runs to Ro.

It enters the top hat with a swift jump.

Ro shakes the top hat apologetically andplucks a golden rabbit out.

‘Miss, is this golden rabbit yours?’

Feather is honest. She shakes her head.

Ro puts it back and picks up a silver rabbit.

‘Miss, is this silver rabbit yours?’

Feather shakes her head again.

In the fairy tales, the story tells her that she should stay honest and can get all the axes.

She thinks this theory also applies to the rabbit.

However, this time Ro picks up a braised rabbit with a steaming aroma.

Every piece of rabbit meat is braised with brown sauce. It has the color of braised rabbit. It is a little dark red. The fine and smooth muscle pattern depicts the rabbit bones under it.

Feather is surprised and feels hungry.

‘Sir, where is my rabbit?’

‘Here.’

Ro raises the plate.

Feather’s eyes are moving along the plate and she is afraid to see any of it being dropped.

‘Sir, can I eat it?’

Feather feels ashamed and blushes.

‘Sure.’

A table is established magically in front of Feather. The plate safely lands on the table.

Ro does a finger snap and a bowl of steamed rice appears on the table with a pair of chopsticks.

‘This is so great……Aw……’

‘Tastes good!’

‘So good!’

Feather gulps at the rice with the braised rabbit and finishes all in a short time.

She keeps praising the taste of the meat. How tender they are. How chewy they are. The mouthfeel is perfect and it is a good combo with rice.

‘Are you full now?’

‘Yes, sir.’

Feather pats her belly relaxed.

‘I have shown you what I know. Do you want to watch anything else?’

‘I want to look at you real face.’

‘Is it not okay?’ Feather looks disappointed.

She begins to apologize.

‘Sorry, I just offended you.’

‘You will see my face, but not now.’

Ro pats her head.

‘I want to be an actress in a popular show. Can I do it here?’

Feather suddenly recalls her dream.

Maybe she saw other kids playing play house and watched a romance drama of a prince and a princess so that she also wants a Mr. Right in a show.

‘Ok.’

Ro accepts.

‘You play Juliet, and I will play Romeo.’ Feather speaks while she is getting up onto the stage.

‘Yes.’ Ro responds in a low voice.

The scene on the stage changed immediately.

It is dark and old-fashioned. Gorgeous initiation starts and the European style background is uncovered.

Feather is in a European male noble suit.

She has refined features and looks like a handsome teenager.

Ro is in a whale bone hoop skirt with his previous mask on.

‘By whose direction found’st thou this place?’

Ro asks.

This line comes from Act 2, Scene 2, Page 4 of Romeo and Juliet.

Juliet is asking why Romeo risks his life and finds her place at midnight.

This section is one of Feather’s favorites. She has memorized the lines well and begins to recall the lines with a serious expression.

‘By love, that first did prompt me to inquire.

He lent me counsel and I lent him eyes.’

Feather is shorter than Ro. She looks up into his mask and couldn’thold back her tears.

The emotion is strong and it comes from nowhere.

His eyes look so familiar, as if he has been looking at her and guarding her for years. It is a kind of long-lasting companion of calm, rational, and restraint.

He never wants to stay closer to her.

Who is he? What was their relationship? Feather couldn’t recall anything from her memory.

The ticket was bought without extra trouble.

The place was inquired ahead.

‘I am no pilot. Yet, wert thou as far

As that vast shore washed with the farthest sea,

I would adventure for such merchandise.’

Feather doesn’t wipe her tears and keeps on speaking.

Her voice is gentle and treasuring with deep feelings.

Her rhinolalia almost melts these lines.

She wanted to find him out so bad.

Now, she cannot be sure that all her effort on investigating at supernatural areas is for this person standing here.

‘Thou know’st the mask of night is on my face,

Else would a maiden blush bepaint my cheek

For that which thou hast heard me speak tonight.’

Ro speaks coolly.

Feather chuckles.

Mr. Clown is always looking cold. Sometimes he looks gentle, but for most of the time he is priming his clown face and his voice to enhance the horror level.

How wonderful are these two lines—they don’t sound cold at all.

They sound like he is too shy to be open and pretend to not care.

She can catch his unconscious shyness.

Ro struggles between shy and ashamed.

Acting in Romeo and Juliet is breaking his lower limit.

Yet, for a girl of Feather’s age, they usually will have a romantic dream like that.

Ro has been through worlds and appreciates their encounter. He is willing to be a chunibyou to fulfill this cute little girl’s dream.
