[Updated April 2024] Update on Next Story (November 2023)

Hi all,

It's been over two and a half years since my last post so I don't expect you to remember me. I wouldn't be surprised if you can hardly even remember the story I'm posting this message to 😂.

All the same, by the fact you originally followed this story I'm guessing you enjoyed it. When I finished writing it, I stated that I would begin writing a new story within the time-loop genre. After a few months, I then gave an update stating that I wanted to spend longer on its planning phase, hence the reason for missing the original deadline. I imagine that's when most of you forgot about me and (correctly) figured that the supposed new story would never see the light of day. Just another author leaving an overly optimistic message before going on indefinite hiatus. Little did you know you hadn't seen the last of me (obligatory muhahaha moment image [https://www.royalroadcdn.com/public/smilies/PenguinGirlEmoticon_Gentleman001-min-AABA64k8Xgw=.png]).

----------------------------------------

To answer the questions you're now thinking:

Did you actually plan out this time-loop story you kept harping on about?

Surprisingly, yes. I extensively planned it out.

So then where's the story, you grifter?

Come on now, steady on with the language (even long-dead writers like myself have feelings, you know). I did extensively plan out that story, then life wrapped its thick arms around my waist (so romantic image [https://www.royalroadcdn.com/public/smilies/PenguinGirlEmoticon_EyeSparkles001-min-AAAAxl48Xgw=.png]) and committed what is known in the industry as a reverse German suplex. Suffice to say, I was out for the count. Following that, writer's block did dastardly acts of evil to me that I dare not describe, which left me scarred and for the dead.

All the planning I had done was for nought with my desire to write drained and when it seemed I should really be getting on with the rest of my life.

Love this story? Find the genuine version on the author's preferred platform and support their work!

...right. So why are you posting this again? Why has the Ghost of Christmas Past come back to haunt me when it's not even Christmas yet?!

Once again, a little rude my dear reader, but I shall forgive you by nature of my infinite magnanimity 😇.

Although that time-loop story had been shelved, I had since planned out an RPG comedy story that I wanted to write as comedy is one of my favourite genres. But as before, writer's block is a bitch who kept me from returning. After all, it's hard to write when you're so out of practice and constantly comparing to yourself at your peak (mine was merely a humble hill, and yet that humble hill looks mighty imposing when viewed at from a ditch). So I didn't write, all the while torturing myself about the unfinished projects I was leaving on the wayside.

Recently, though, I have begun writing again. Slowly, admittedly, but I'll take that over nothing. And for the first time in forever I logged onto this account to see that some of you had left supportive messages long after my last update, which I genuinely do appreciate and has helped motivate me. So I wanted to post this message to any of you who had waited for a new story from me to say that I will make up for it, perhaps not through quantity but certainly through quality.

I don't want to give too much away but I will say that I'm writing an RPG comedy. I want people to laugh and enjoy reading it, and in fact I demand you laugh ceaselessly while reading it. I'm optimistic (not overly so this time, pinky promise) that I can start writing more consistently, especially after seeing the supportive messages y'all had left.

When will it be ready by? Another two and a half years?

3-6 months, I'd say while ignoring the snark image [https://www.royalroadcdn.com/public/smilies/PenguinGirlEmoticon_Judging001_big-min-AACA1vE8Xgw=.png]. I wanted to post this so that the story wouldn't come out of the blue when it lands (especially since it's wildly different to what I previously said my next story would be).

If you're still unconvinced and are tapping X to doubt, I would say please don't because my fragile ego will shatter. The sound of my profuse and shameful sobbing would give away my location to Mr. Writer's Block, who has unfinished business with me.

So yeah, feel free to forget me again for the next few months as I toil away, paying off my loan to Mr. Writer's Block one sentence at a time. But please do check out my next story when I post it.

Much love,
