Chatter and laughter can be heard throughout the room
"Uhh, hopefully he's alright. That nurse wore the same style of coat Mr.Marko wore. Perhaps she was part of The Federation" Eriko thinks to herself as she sits alone in a row by herself.
"Look it's the twelve-star mage"
"She was pretty strong at the auditorium"
"She was just a show-off." "She got lucky not blessed getting those powers"
"Tch such small minds. Childish. Words dont mean anything to me" Eriko thinks to herself as she quietly sits at her desk and ignores them.
SWING
The door of the room swings open.
STEP STEP STEP
A tall woman walks in as the students quiet down.
"Good morning students am your homeroom teacher, Celeste Carmen," the woman says in a calm but alluring voice. She wears a black long dress, with scarlet eyes, high heels, and long black hair with red tips.
"So this is our homeroom teacher," Eriko thinks to herself.
"In the beginning, there was nothing but the planet and the stars. The stars shined bright as they encapsulated the night sky. The Twelve Stars Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces. These Twelve are said to be blessings to those who wield them. They can have enormous amounts of mana and power." Ms.Carmen continues to speak. "We are very fortunate to have one with us here. Ms.Eriko Angello or The Maiden." she begins to give more praise to Eriko as she points to where she sits.
A round of applause occurs.
Eriko nervously waves at the class with a fake smile on her face.

"Is this the right place?!" a familiar voice says outside.
"Yeah, it says 1B. And jeez can you be a little more louder?
"Am I being loud?! Can't help it?"
"We gotta be quiet they must be discussing something important"
SWING
The door swings open.
Two mages step forward.

We entered as all eyes were on us. I led us into the room as we walked towards the center. The room setup was 3 columns of 4 rows and a long table all centered around the podium where another beautiful woman was standing.
"What up with all these beautiful women today the nurse and now her," I thought to myself.
"Oh, and you two are Mr. Valerus and Mr.Ezekiel great showing today in our opening ceremony. Also, that little match you had out there. Exciting. Are you both alright?"
"Yes, we are," I respond.
"It was just a friendly exhibition," Ezekiel says as he smiles.
"Oh I forgot to introduce myself and Celeste Carmen Please sit anywhere."
"I look around the room and I see a familiar face Eri"
We both start to head over to the row that she sat in. As we walked a couple of steps near the 3rd row on the right side of the room.
"Alright now that everyone is present we can talk about-"
"Hey, you feeling alright?" Eri whispers to me.
"Yeah am feeling fine"
"So what's the deal with him."
"You talking about me?!" Ezekiel says out loud.
Ezekiel gains everyone's attention.
"Ahem", I suggest everyone be listening to what I have to say next. Especially you three." Celeste stares directly at us.
The three of us listen intensively.
"The Phantom Order is no joke. There dark guild whose intentions are nothing but bad just as explained in the assembly. I want all students to travel in groups and avoid traveling alone. Furthermore, in the coming weeks, we will have the Magus Exam"
"Magus Exam?" I questioned.
"It is an exam every 1st-year student must take with a couple of exceptions. This test will determine your Mage Class Ranking. Each day each class will be used to learn about the Exam and what to expect."

B Class Mage
A Class Mage
S Class Mage"
"So that nurse Aisaki was an S Class even though she's a lieutenant? I thought to myself.
"To give an example all the student council members are ranked B Class and Above. In contrast, we the teachers are A Class Rank and above. The rest of you are default D Class Mages. Except for Eriko and Ezekiel here who have been bestowed a Blessing there B Class Mages," Ms.Carmen states.
"So that means I gotta place huh" I thought to myself. "Well, no matter I'll show 'em how good I am. They got a sneak peak when I faced Ezekiel so it'll be a breeze."

A murmur goes around the classroom
"So you're saying that those two dont gotta take the test?" A voice in the classroom speaks their opinion.
"They dont have to take it?"
"How come they getting the special treatment?"
"QUIET" Ms.Carmen demands. "Just for your information, you dont have to be a Twelve Star Mage to be except for this event. There are a handful of other first-year mages that are exempt as well in class Class 1A and 1C as well so don't complain. However, those who are exempt shouldn't relax as they will go on a special trip to train North from here in the Falos Region after this has ended. Then they will prepare for the Aiz Magnificent Magic Games. A magic event where schools from 4 regions will choose 4 young mages from their academies to compete in a 16-mage tournament to see which school is the best.
"Wow, so everything this year will lead up to the Aiz Magnificent Magic Games." I thought to myself.
"Ugh, no matter I smash all those guys from the other three schools and come out the Victor. HAHAHA"
"That if you picked," Eriko says as she is already stressed and disturbed by Ezekiel.
DING DONG DING DONG
"That's the end of the first period head on to your second period. Class Over" as Ms.Carmen leaves the room.
"Hey, Eri what kind of magic do you think she got?"
"Am not too sure am more interested in seeing if she is an A-class Mage or S-class mage"
"I just wanna fight her"
Me and Eriko pause and look at Ezekiel.
"What I wanna see if she's worthy to be our homeroom teacher. A person who's supposed to protect her students. You guys dont want a weak teacher that can't protect us right?"
"Right"
As we all walk out of the classroom.
The three mages step out as they head into the crowded hallway.
"Magus Exam" I couldn't stop thinking about it. "This was my chance to prove to myself that I can do it"
"Val you alright? Your spacing out a bit" Eriko asks me.
SLAP
I received a slap on the back.
"OOF"
"Lighten up Valerus have fun be relaxed!" Ezekiel says as he freely walks with confidence and pride.
As the two walk by my side Ezekiel on the right and Eriko on the left.
BUMP
"Hey watch it" "Agh" students voicing their discomfort of Ezekiels walking.
"He truly is a lion acting like he is the king of the jungle," Eriko says with a frown on her face.
I take a second to look at him.
"He even walks the opposite way of foot traffic." She says whispering in my ear.
"Yes this day should be fine haha" Ezekiel laughs as he walks towards the traffic.
I couldn't help but laugh a little. I need someone like him in our group.
"So you're going to tell me how you got cool with the lion face over there?" she asks.
"We have a similar interest and a similar goal." "He" I struggle to say these next few words. "He watched as his whole family died. I connected with him on that basis."
"Oh, I see I can see why now. Am sorry" Eriko apologizes.
"It's alright. At least we got someone like him on our side."
"Ahaahahhah" Ezekiel continues to walk.

I hear footsteps quickly approaching us.
"Wait you three I totally forgot to give you these." a familiar voice calls out.
I turn to see Ms.Carman
Carmen opens her hands to reveal three golden pins that have "I" on them the Roman numeral for one. Each is the size of two quarters.
"Now I remember when I observed the Opening Ceremony. Axel has one on his wrist collar, Luna has her pin on the collar of her coat, and Faith has hers on her hat. They looked smaller but up close."
"Place this anywhere on your uniform above your waist. Please always have them visible during school hours."
"Alright go on to your next class. See you guys later"

"My question is how was she able to catch up let on find us amongst this busy hallway?"
"I wonder what her magic is?" Eriko asks as if she knew exactly what I was thinking.
"Her Magic. It's something pretty powerful" Ezekiel says.
"How do you know that?" Eriko asks.
"Just instinct," Ezekiel says as he smiles.
"Ugh this is going to be a long three years"
I let out a laugh. The two pause and look at me and laugh as well.
We made our way to our next class.
Surprisingly the three of us had the same class. Now am not too sure if I should be glad or suspicious of this. But anyway I got them by my side.
I started to understand the layout more and more as we made our way to our next class Spell Class. The building that we are currently in is the 1st year building. As we continued to walk down the hallways I saw a connecting section that connects to two other buildings. I know that there are two courtyards in between the three buildings one separating both as me and Ezekiel battled in one of them. My guess is the building we are in is the first-year building, with the one right next to us being the 2nd year, and the third year being the farthest.
We made it to the next class.
OPEN
"Hopefully this class is-"
BOOM
A body gets hurled at me before we can step foot in the room.
I fly at least a couple of feet as another first-year gets knocked out.
"Send him to the infirmary," an arrogant voice says.
PAT PAT PAT PAT PAT
Two 1st years rush out to grab him and pick him up to the infirmary.
"UGH, What the hell man" I was slow to get up.
"Val you alright?"
"Come on in students dont be shy"
Eriko tries to bring me to my feet as we enter the classroom.
"Wait what the hell"
We entered. We all thought a normal classroom was like our homeroom but we were gladly mistaken. This room is an open room with very few chairs and books with a giant practice area. Three huge giant windows show you can oversee the landscape of Aiz just buildings upon buildings. Students wait along in this part of the room like a waiting area for a match or game.
"Ah welcome. The three put on a spectacular showing today. I was awaiting your arrival I am Kazarian Kayneth the Magic Self-Defense teacher. " The voice that I heard earlier had a body now. This was a tall man with a monocle on his left eye, a mustache, and a staff in his right hand. Come along get in here. As he guided us through the door.
"Everyone is now present. The reason for this class is to teach everyone here to dig deep and reach their true potential. You will work hard here to hone your abilities and skills, especially for the Magus Exam and those who will be heading to the Falso region. In here think of it as a training class." Or PE in my world I thought to myself.
"We will now begin our matchups" Mr. Kayneth exclaims.
"What what do you mean?" I spoke aloud.
"What is the matter Mr Valerus?" he questioned.
"We're going to start fighting right now?" i asked.
"Yes if you are worried about getting hurt or injured we have a teleport portal located in that corner over there." as he pointed to the corner which was close to the door we came from.
"But what about that other first year that got blasted earlier?" Eriko asks.
"Oh that he was just blasted a little off mark. If anything your fellow classmates can help you"
Everyone stares in disbelief at the words that came out of this teacher's mouth.
"So why did he tell two stude- never mind the real question is. Is he even qualified to be a teacher?" Eriko whispers beside me."
"This will give a sneak peek at how the Exam and Games will go. Who would like to go first"
VOSH
"I would go first," Ezekiel says as he points to himself as he dashes to the battle area.
"Of course, Mr Ezekiel of the Agnes family. Now I was going to base it off what I have written but a volunteer would be nice."
"Am going to set the bar right now," Ezekiel exclaims.
STEP STEP STEP
"I'll go" a male voice speaks up. He walks forward with short black hair, slicked back, a faded, short-sleeved shirt with his 1st-year pin on the pocket area, and hands in his pockets with the school's black and gold coat around his shoulders.
"Ah, Mr. Reigns has answered your challenge, Mr.Ezekiel"
The two face each other in the arena.
"Ezekiel Agnes. Here's to a good fight" as he readies his stance.
"Albeck Reigns" he responds.
Reigns he looks to calm almost emotionless. I had a uneasy feeling in my gut. What could I be feeling.
"He'll be a formidable opponent." Eriko whispers too me. "Is he going to be okay?"
"Hopefully" I respond.
She thought the same as I.
Mr.Kayneth stands in the middle as the onlooker "May the Duel"
"Begin!"

"So this involves me, no it involves us. Me Ezekiel and Eriko" Faith thinks to herself as she walks to her next class.
"Ugh, I can't stop thinking about it I'll just ask Ceaser now. I'll let Axel and Luna know am missing class to talk to him." she says as she heads to the Student Council Room
"Faith Alexander" a distorted but soft voice whispers.
"Ha. What the hell was that? That was a voice, right? Am I going crazy?" she thinks to herself as she frantically looks around her.
STEP STEP STEP
Footsteps are heard from behind her.
She turns to no avail.
"Footsteps? Faith backs up against a wall with her shadow cast upon it.
"Got you, "the voice says from behind her.
"UMPH" hands cover her mouth as she gets sucked into the shadows.

Her hat and pin drop on the floor.
