Stainless Steel and Bone Breaker were stunned looking at the spot where the Boss was at right now.
After some time, they came to a senseless deduction. Did the boss just scam them out of their items?
The thought quickly passed through their head, but they dismissed it. that was absurd. NPC will never lie to players!
But what if?
“ALFRED!!” roared Bone Breaker as he seethed with rage.
The butler AI appeared right in front of them and said
“How can I be of service?” asked the butler.
“We were just scammed by an NPC! He took our items and left!” said Bone Breaker, not believing the very words he just said.
“That should not be possible, let me verify the logs,” said the butler.
The AI’s eyes turned white as milk for a moment then transformed back to their original look.
“There was no mistake in the events that just happened recently, all the fault is with you. When an NPC gives you a quest, the quest table should appear to you. The thought already crossed your minds, but your greed clouded your eyes,” the butler ended his words and disappeared.
The two players looked at each other, then a stream of insults and wrathful flew out of their mouths like the tide.
*** A white light shone in the middle of the Undead-Captain ranks, back at the Dead-realm.
In the middle of the plaza where hundreds of thousands of Undead-Captains stood next to each other, all looking at the far away Bone-Palace with reverie in their hollowed eyes.
Dave mused to himself, “That was easy! I should do this often.”
You gained 240 000EXP for staying for 24 hours as guardian of the
Desolate Temple Dungeon
Level Up!
+2400 CP
“Oh, the EXP and the CP are not bad, already level 106, this is nice,” said Dave as he looked at his status window with admiration.
The problem remains the same though; I cannot do more dungeons, at least not at my current level…
Dave thought about how he met Bone Breaker and Stainless Steel. Also, the quest that was issued to the TNT by the system to look for the armor of the Undead-King.
The IA is clearly toying around with the game, influencing it and its quest. otherwise, it would be utterly unbelievable that the guys he met had the required information he needed to get the second piece of the broken armor.
Is the AI helping me to get the quest? or does he has an ulterior motive? No matter what, I cannot go right now to the Sothern Desert to search for the Black Skull Order. It is a high-level area where I will have high chances of dying. I should probably stay in the underworld, level up a bit then once am strong enough I will continue the quest. There is no timer on the quest so no need to rush things.
Dave confirmed his resolve and his objectives and chose to continue venturing into the underworld.
At least that way, he will have a lot of video material for Perfect Shot’s TV Company.
That should be a good way to make some pocket money.
Dave went to the nearest Undead-Shop, purchased several Teleportation Scrolls, and inscribed them with the location of the conquered Raid Zone: Undead legion Underworld Frontier.
Dave tore one and his character disappeared to appear back at the foot of the temple built in the middle of the volcano.
Hundreds of undead were milling about, some stood in formation as if on high alert. While several other were carrying construction material, building troop garrisons and siege weapons.
Dave wondered what they were doing and entered the Temple seeing the lovely Delvina issuing orders to some of her subordinates.
“Hey there Delvina,” said Dave
“Kis’Shtingbrah! You are finally back, I heard you were on guard duty yesterday. How was it?” she asked in a friendly manner.
“It was alright, a bit boring,” He added
“Hmm, you actually feel bored. Drahma was right, you must have just recently joined the Undead, to actually still have the notion of boredom. But it is not all bad.” She said with a gentle smile.
“Ah, anyway Delvina, what is going on? I saw the barracks b” asked Dave.
Delvina gave a long sigh before she answered Dave.
“A squad of Dunlords was met with trouble, they spotted that a huge army of demons charging their way to the Undead Underworld frontier. And we are preparing for a siege. Now that you are here, I need you to do me a favor.” Asked Delvina
Dunlords?
“Hmm, what can I do for you?” Dave asked as he smelled the scent of a quest.
“I need you and your battalion to inform Abyssal Knight Lord Sambraga to send us reinforcements.”
“Reinforcements? Isn’t the undead army you have here enough to hold the line?” asked Dave.
“You don’t seem to understand, we are not only be defending this territory, but we will be conquering the second Raid-Region soon and the army of lord Dagla is headed there. Our goal is to unify all the Underworld under the name of the Undead King.” Said Delvina
“Hang on! You mean to tell me that Lord Dagla, the abyssal Knight of the Sorcerer Faction is leading the charge to the second raid zone?”
“Yes, the order was issued yesterday,”
“Alright, where can I find Lord Sambraga?” asked Dave
“He is active in the north, take this plaque and give it to him directly. You will know him when you find him. And please do be careful, he does not like idle talk or unnecessary information.”
Dave had a new coordination marked on his map marker and a new quest item appeared in his inventory.
Chain Quest
Quest difficulty A
Find Lord Sambraga and hand him the plaque given to you by Delvina.
Wow, the quest difficulty is too high for such a simple thing.
“Though I trust your strength, the way to find Lord Sambraga is fraught with Dangers, I can give you a battalion of Dunlords and two Death knights to escort you,” said Delvina.
Two Death knight appeared right next to Dave, bowed slightly toward Delvina, and gave a salute to Dave.
“Thank you for your trust in me, though I believe you could have sent anyone else to do this,”
“No, I trust your judgment and your actions are praised by several high tiered Undead Brethren, this is only natural, also I am helping you form relations with Lord Sambraga, he can be of much help for you to gain power.” Said Delvina with a smile.
“Thank you, I will be heading soon.”
This quest actually fell into Dave’s plans, An abyssal Knight is not something anyone could see. And this would be good material for Perfect Shot’s TV company.
A notification popped to Dave when he read.
You can now hire a new type of troops from your undead pannel
Dunlords.
Dave went to his troop's panel and saw a new icon added to it.
It was that of a scorpion’s tail.
Finding the More Information option, Dave had a holographic image of a what was a Dunlord and his eyes nearly popped.
They were huge Scorpion-men, like centaurs, they had the upper body of a man but the rest was that of a gigantic scorpion. They were much taller than a normal human and wielded a bow in their human arms.
They had two giant claws like scorpions and a huge tail that ended in a wicked stinger.
They also had the ability to dive underground. Not only that, they had a massive HP pool and a lot of strength!
“Wow! These guys are badass!!” said Dave
Dave looked at the price of hiring one of them and he almost fainted.
“20 000CP/unit!”
Thankfully, Delvina Gave him a platoon of Dunlords for his use for free. At least for this mission.
Dave summoned his platoon, no, his battalion now, and the 110 undead appeared behind him like an organized procession.
“Alright, Move out!”
