Leaning forward, a 7 foot tall man with black skin and red eyes grabbed the hilt of a sword that was in a pile of rubble, and pulled it out gently, revealing a bastard sword easily as big as a giant dragons fang. Swinging it once, the man set it on his back with a click, and observed his surroundings.
“Such a waste… Twenty years of ruling all demon kind, and this has to happen on the anniversary of the Empire's founding…” Surrounding the Demon on all sides were the ruins of what was once a vast and majestic city, ruled by none other than himself.
Walking through the ruins, he kept track of where he was and where he was going, which was revealed after a while to be the remnants of a stone slab, with a seal engraved into it and a slot in the middle.
Brushing dirt and debris off of it, the Demon smiled cruelly. “With my empire in this state, I'm sure the humans will try summoning heroes from other worlds, so if I prempt them by killing all with a hero status…” He started off chuckling, which turned into a deep and dark laughter. “I will destroy all heroes in existence, and then no one can stop the rebirth of my Empire!” He pulled the sword off his back and held it poised over the slot in the seal. “I, Lucifer Baal, swear this on my right as the Demon King of Gerantia! All men and women of all world's with the capability of a hero, shall die this very day!” And with that, he stabbed the sword down into the slotted seal, lighting it up with a dark miasma that spread in all directions.

As Remus stepped out of the woods, he rubbed his hand on the pommel of his sword. He lived on the planet Earth, and it was the early 1400’s. At the moment, he was wearing a set of leather armor with metal plates in weak spots, all in all standard demon hunter equipment. On his back was a quiver with a bow and several bunches of arrows slid inside, and a hunting knife was nestled along the back of his waist. He was currently on a personal assignment, which was to escort his sister into the woods to gather herbs and other things for her to use in making potions, poultices, and other healing items. As he turned around to help her, though...
“BROTHER! HELP!” All that Remus saw was his sister running towards him, her eyes filled with terror, and a Hellfire Dread Hound fast on her heels. At 5’ at the shoulder, it was one of the biggest demon hounds, besides the Cerberus, along with the most ferocious, and without even thinking, Remus immediately used one of his innate abilities- Spirit Animal Assimilation. He instantly started growing taller than his 5’10 height and charged, his shoulder getting broader and his legs thicker as his face took on bear like qualities.
As the two crashed together, the sister looked on from the side, a ball of fire in one hand while a ball of ice hovered in the other, a worried look on her face. Looking her way for a brief instant, Remus roared an order. “RUN, NOW!”

As he watched her turn around reluctantly, Remus focused all his attention on his adversary as he smacked the foul hound in the face with a now giant hand. The fel hound was sent flying, and hit a tree, hard. Stepping forward quickly, Remus put his bottled foot on the hours throat and drew his sword, before deliberately stabbing it straight into the eye socket and all the way through.
Sighing and turning back to normal, Remus turned around just in time to catch his sister. “Amanda, why didn't you run?”
“I-I was too worried about you…” Seeing her close to tears, Remus smiled gently before wiping her eyes, and opened his mouth to speak, when a dark and foul miasma erupted from the ground where the fel hound had been. Spinning towards it while holding his sword, Remus watched in disbelief as a tall, red eyed and black skinned shadow emerged from a Crack in the air itself, cackling like a madman.
“So, I have found one, one with the title of hero! Your life shall not last beyond this day, Mortal!” Lunging forward, the shadow thrust forward a sword made of pure darkness straight towards Remus’ chest, but it never reached. All that he saw was the back of his sister as he fell to the ground, and then he saw her looking to the side with a sad smile on her face moments before the sword ripped through her breast and straight out the other side.
Wailing in rage and sorrow, he watched as his sisters body was disintegrated into a fine ash, leaving only one thing- her silver ring which had the symbol of their family on it, which was a wolf and a flame. Picking it up slowly in disbelief, Remus cried as the truth finally hit him that his sister was gone from this world and any other. While he cried, he heard the shadow man laughing at him. “so, the fly has tried to stop the evil god, and now the mouse shall go the same way- straight to hell.”
With the last words, the shadow thrust his sword again, only to stop in mild amazement and major annoyance as he watched the youth in front of him grow in size and gain ursine features, and charge at him full of fury. “RRAAAAGGGHHHH!!!!” The shadow yawned as he simply backhanded the now enraged warrior to the side, and snorts as the man - child lands in a heap, already drained of all strength and power. “so, this is all the heroes are made of, eh? Maybe I was wrong to worry, but better safe than sorry!” And with that, he swung his sword, slicing the Warriors head off in one clean slice, before they both disapeared within seconds, both forever gone from this world, and one laughing hysterically at his triumph to come.
